TBH I have no idea why you would preorder a digital game. The numbers can't be that high.
Why wouldn’t you?
-There’s usually incentives offered
-Pre-launch Hype!
-To be organised and ready for day 1
-You have the money ready

The only reason not to would be if you weren’t planning on getting it day one in which case it’s irrelevant.

They do try to entice one with items that otherwise will never be available again. Such as masks in the Silent Hill 2 remake. But they mostly seem to only really appeal to the devoted/hardcore fans of the franchise.

I have to admit that I did pre-order the Horizon remaster. Absolutely loved the game but have not played it since it released on the PS4 and have still not played the DLC. Plus I got the base game again for free (traded in my copy) so I can spare $15 AUD for it.

And this is good news how?.

Either way the rest of the year is looking pretty empty in terms of big releases. Have you looked at the rest of the pre order list? It's basically beating a bunch of indie games, some niche JRPGs, a few remasteres, some VR games and a new Life is Strange.

The only big titles are Monster Hunter, that new Like a Dragon pirate game and Kingdom come 2, all of which aren't coming out until next year

The only big game coming out relatively soon that it is outselling is dragon age non binary purple edition

It will bomb no doubt. This is one of those games that does not age well. Looks great but it's so shallow, I'd rather play some Ubi slop Asscreed over this shit again.

Is this a wrong thread thing?

Horizon series has like 15 million or more already, and Lego games sell pretty well too

To the OP, nobody asked for this, that's a true statement...

A year ago nobody was "saying, man I love the Horizon series, but I wish I could play the first game again with better graphics, ooh or Aloy and the gang in a lighthearted Lego adventure" nobody...

...

...

Okay, maybe Herman, but noone else lol

I mean I think it will still sell a couple million but it won't reach those numbers again. I think it will bomb in comparison, Lego one will most likely do better.

It is interesting to see that COD, which lots of people here hate, it is so high in all of those lists. Other point is, that outside USA, UK, France and Germany all other countries we are talking of tens of thousands of preorders, these are all small gaming markets compared to the countries I have mentioned.

More interesting is that its not top of every list just a couple of weeks out from release. It's the one of (most of the time THE) best selling game every year, lets see if Microsoft can fuck this up.

You can remaster any last gen top selling game and it'd sell. Doesn't mean it was something core fans were asking for.

You could remaster GTA v for ps5 pro right now and it'd top all the charts, doesn't mean people are asking for it.

I'll probably snatch the Zero Dawn remake as I've heard it's better than Forbidden West, but I really can't say that I'm eager to see the online multiplayer game they are making of the IP.

I don’t give a shit what anyone says because I’ll be picking up the Horizon upgrade and thoroughly enjoying my 3rd play through on the Pro.

My impression was always that Horizon is much bigger than the hardcore gaming forums make it out to be.
I've met a lot of people who know about or have played Horizon that would never go on a gaming forum.
They would probably be puzzled by the mere existence of gaming forums.

Sales numbers also confirms this.
Just Zero Dawn had sold 25 million units by last year.
That's three times as much as Bloodborne, for context.

I'm not surprised but there's alot of games coming out or have come out that people don't care about.

It's a response to modern gaming, not just horizon.

Apart from some mainstays like call of duty, it's safe to expect many games not to sell huge numbers, even sh2 on PC is doing fine but it's not like destroying steam charts.

Hey, I wanted to buy the upgrade for horizon, but than I saw the characters faces and lower details in general, so I stayed with the ps4 Version.

And the Lego game, well .. I like Lego games, but horizon is not the universe that is that interesting. So I so far passed on that.

Yes, GAF is completely out of touch with what the average gamer wants, but this isn't exactly new info.
Exactly. GAF is home of the bubble boys who hate almost everything casuals love and love everything most casuals don't give a shit about.

It won't even reach numbers of the original game and only sell a couple of millions? Wow mega bomb confirmed.

For a game that's coming out with a 10 bucks option...at least 4 of these 9 countries aren't buying the upgrade path, but the full game instead.

The Lego game that's coming out only in November 14th (more than a month from now) is already top 10 on preorders as well. Both games are in every top 10 preorders i could find excluding my country (Portugal) that's missing the Lego game for now.

Not bad for an IP no one asked for anymore i think.
