"No one wants Horizon Remastered or a Lego game"

Yes, GAF is completely out of touch with what the average gamer wants, but this isn't exactly new info.

It's not even being out of touch, it's just a lot of disingenous comments from people trying at all costs to do console war while in the real world Sony is the only platform holder that is offering a continuous flow of great games while the others are pretty much dead and are offering a wasteland to their customers.

Lego Horizon will do big numbers and the HZD remaster at 10$ is a no brainer for all the fans of the series.

at least 4 of these 9 countries aren't buying the upgrade path, but the full game instead.

The upgrade doesn't show up in rankings, just the full game. It counts the same to Sony in terms of store rankings. So if someone pays for the $10 upgrade, the normal game will still show up in the store ranking.

Concord was topping pre-order charts at some point and look how that turned out

Not saying that Horizon Remaster and Lego will bomb, but using the pre-order charts to prove a point is kinda retarded.

Bruh you about to summon the horde 😂. Not surprised these games aren't on top any pre-order lists because I haven't seen or hear nobody ask for them. I don't recall seeing a single thread or comment asking for either of those two games. I've seen a lot of people ask for Killzone and Socom.
did you even read the post? :messenger_tears_of_joy:

They don't need to be #1 to be wildly successful.

Both of them will bomb IMO, Lego game probably less.

Data from PS store?

It's pretty obvious they are promoting their games here, not very objective list.

That is page two

If we are talking about OP, it's page one:

I've pre ordered the upgrade as its only a tenner. First time I've pre-ordered in years.

As for the Lego, to each their own, certainly not for moi.

I am talking about the post I quoted saying Concord was "topping preorder charts" at one time. It wasn't. Guy took a screenshot of page two of the chart.

There is definitely an audience for these games, mostly kids for the LEGO games and people who haven't played the previous games for these remasters. But I can't get excited about these games because I'm not their audience.

They are conflating the two prices for the same SKU, you don't know whether people are buying upgrade or full game just from the storefront page.

I think it's funny that your post is so overlooked.
At least for the Horizon Remaster, it clearly shows that we cannot make any call about how many bought it for 49,99 and how many used the upgrade path.

Complete guesstimate but I'd expect that to be 90% upgrade, but I guess Sony would prefer that 90% full price as they'd make more money that way

Difference between want and need.

Nobody needs Horizon Remastered. The original version looks excellent on PS5 and runs like a dream.

no matter how many people hates on these horizon games, the series have sold like 20 million only one game and between all of the games more than 30m if I am not wrong, maybe could be more? but anyways, just seeing the stores numbers on PSN, is pretty obvious people is spending their money on the preorders of both games, remastered and the lego game, people lives in a bubble thinking hating on it can change anything, it maaaaaybe the "boycott" could work if the horizon games were literally bad games, but they arent, so the boycott is just working as free publicity as a plus for the preorders

I’ll be getting Lego for the grandkids and the remaster for myself as I enjoy the lore. Go fuck yourself, I guess I’m one?

There could be dozens of us, you have no know idea!

This meme should definitely be the opposite. Horizon dislikers are the clear minority in this situation lol.

I've said it before in other threads, but normies are the main audience for Horizon.

It's really the gaming world's Avatar, both have class-leading graphics and art design, both have boring yet serviceable characters and story, and no one ever talks about either online.

But when a new iteration comes out of either of them, it sells massively and the internet's cynics get genuinely surprised and seethe about it.

People acting like Horizon isn't popular on this forum will never not be funny to me.

It's LTD sales (as a franchise) are a few million less than Gears or War (which was insanely popular at one point).

It accomplished that with less games and less time.

Are people not realizing that the OP is claiming the Horizon games are actually selling well so far?

Did the title confuse people here?
We have a bunch of Sheldons who can't detect the sarcasm quotes in the title.

I didn't really want this but for just €10 I'm gonna get it as a showcase for my ps5. Plus it's been years since I played it.
The upgrade for this is a nobrainer for those with the base game. If you have it you even get to convert it into the Complete Edition with the meaty Frozen Wilds DLC included. So you get the Remaster plus all DLC for that 10 bucks price.

There has been topics created based on pre-orders from that same store to trash other games. No one said a thing about "desperation" on those. You say that about this one because it goes against something you want to happen. As simple as that.
The difference between this thread and those other threads is that they aren't usually created as a defense mechanism.

Companies listen to data, not NeoGAF. Who would guess..
So they were listening to "data" when they made Concord and Outlaws and suicide squad ? ... I personally think their "data" system is completely broken this gen.. and listening to gamers, even neogaf incels, just a little probably would be a good thing.

Why wouldn’t you?
-There’s usually incentives offered
-Pre-launch Hype!
-To be organised and ready for day 1
-You have the money ready

The only reason not to would be if you weren’t planning on getting it day one in which case it’s irrelevant.
I prefer not to pay full price to beta test games for 6-12 months while they clean up bugs and sharpen the overall perfomance, but thats just me. To each their own.

People act like everyone had a ps4 and everyone would buy an older game. At one point I believe Sony announced about half of the ps5 owners were new to PlayStation. They probably just bought HFW first and are now grabbing HZD now that it’s a ps5 release.

More interesting is that its not top of every list just a couple of weeks out from release. It's the one of (most of the time THE) best selling game every year, lets see if Microsoft can fuck this up.
It is still pretty high up there so... and how much influence would MS have had on this year's COD? I think they will let Activision run things as they have been so far when it comes to COD.

I was thinking that too.

First time on Gamepass. I know nobody is rushing out and buying an xbox for "free" COD but with the offer also on PC it has to have some sort of effect, even a little bit. Lots of folks have more than one platform already.

Going to be interesting seeing what transpires, if anything.

The state of gaming where so many people are willing to splash out money for a remaster of a 7 year old game...
If I'm gonna replay a 7 year old game, I'd gladly pay $10 to play it with current visuals (not just resolution). If I'm playing a 7 yr old game for the first time, I'm glad I can play a version with current visuals.
