Can there be duplicate tickets? Are the auto generated one's guaranteed to be unique?

No, it's all random when you go with the quick picks. Given the size of this jackpot, it's likely more than one ticket will win.

I think once there was even 3 winners.

Put in $10 as well. They're saying if no one hits tonight, it's expected to be at 1.3 billion for Wednesday's drawing. That's just insane.

Got a feeling the winner will either be in Vermont or Washington.

Being in Washington, this post pleases me.

It's a pity Washington doesn't allow winners to claim anonymously (even if you set up a trust a Freedom of Information request will reveal who founded the trust), but at least we don't have a state tax on lottery winnings. At 900 million, that leaves a Washingtonian, after immediate Federal taxes (but before the total Federal taxes) with a cool 418.5 million dollars.

I think it's going to go to a 80+ year old millionaire. TBH, I don't think I would want to win this one. The amount of scrutiny the winner gets will be worse than it's ever been for lottery winners.

im 19 and i just bought my first lotto ticket
les gooo

I lay claim to your total noob luck.

I get $10,000,000 tax free from you when you win. Those are the conditions/terms you must accept for this to come to fruition for you.

Suddenly coming into 9 figure wealth has to be intimidating as fuck. I'd almost (but not really) rather win a million or two where I could just pay off my debt but otherwise keep it moving rather normally.

Well you have a better chance getting what you want.

Well, I'm about to go buy my first lottery ticket. 900 million dollars is too much to pass up.

I succumbed to the hype and decided to grab a ticket before I stopped for food. As I walked up to the gas station door, a woman stopped me to tell me their systems were down. She shut the door in my face and I decided that my fate is to save the $2.

Grabbed $12 worth. I hardly ever play but I'll make an exception for today. I couldn't imagine winning 50k, let alone hundreds of millions. I guess I'll know what that's like tonight!

I think its misleading they include the part that will be removed due to taxes. They should just tell you hoe much you will actually get.

The taxes would be dependant on the state you live in, no? Misleading, but it's probably a lot easier to just advertise the untaxed number.

Oh yeah, that would probably be better.

If I win, I'm going to invest most of my winnings back in the lottery.

so, i've never played before

should I just do quickpick?

Quickpick is definitely the way to go. Any set of numbers have the same chance of winning, but if you pick the numbers yourself then there's a much better chance other's have also picked those numbers. So if you do win the pot will be split.

Split 900 million? May as well not even play at that point.
