NoA: "there are more great games on Nintendo platforms than anywhere else!"

That Metacritic report shows that NoA are more or less right with their claim... if yo uonly look at their direct competition:

Wait wait wait

DKC:TF is only 83 on Metacritc ? How that happened ?
It's a rather hard game.

It's sort of hard to ignore all of the quality games that hit the PS4/Xbox One this year. And this was considered a dull year, relatively speaking.

Wolfenstein
Thief
PVZ GW
Shadow of Mordor
MGS: GZ
The Crew
Assassin's Creed
Destiny
Call of Duty AW
Far Cry 4
Dragon Age
Metro Redux
All of the Sports games. Madden, NBA 2k, MLB for PS4, FIFA,
GTA 5
Alien Isolation
Tomb Raider Definitive Edition

Regardless of your opinion of some of these games, a lot of people enjoy these games. Even though some of them have flaws, the option for gamers to pick this up on the PS4/XB1 is a luxury that Wii U owners simply do not get.
And really, this is why the PS4 and XB1 are selling so well. A large choice of games.

This was just a list of games the Wii U did not have that the PS4 did have. I did not count PS4/XB1 exclusives or games that PS4 and Wii U had like Child of Light. I also did not count indies.

Or there's something amiss with the games themselves.
Nope.

You are insisting that a review system which has absolutely no criteria or standards for quality or legitimacy is a valid measure of game quality and demanding that others provide you with proof, while also asserting that Nintendo is "trolled relentlessly everywhere else on the internet."

You aren't really making a point other than that you don't understand the issue here.

User reviews are not legitimate because they are completely open to anyone on the internet without any real proof that the reviewer actually played the game. They can and are drastically swayed by the kind of "drive by" posting that gets people banned here on NeoGAF.

You are insisting that despite this fact, Nintendo having higher scores in that measure MUST mean that they are legitimate, which is backward logic. Its not legit just because it tells you what you want the truth to be.
Damn. You put a hell of a lot of words in my mouth. Please don't.

If they are really limited in manpower then they should do the sensible thing and hire more people. Of course this wouldn't be an issue if they had third parties to pick up the slack during the time in between Nintendo releases. Which they fucked up with their ultra conservative Japanese way of doing things.

What drought? There was a constant stream of games coming out for both the PS4 and X1 this past year. :|

Ok seriously, why do you guys act like third parties are the scourge of the earth?

"Greatness waits" and "soony" were a thing. There were droughts.

"Release it in that state... We'll fix it later" was a thing a lot this year.

That doesn't really validate the use of user score when it so heavily relies on honesty amongst thousands and thousands of people.

There have been plenty of people on these boards who have enjoyed games that haven't been too well reviewed.

Even if the game has flaws at launch, unless its severe, people still play and enjoy these games. Even AC: U which is considered broken by many people here, plenty of relatively casual gamers still found the game to be quite enjoyable.

User scores seem to indicate that many people weren't satisfied with many of these releases

It doesn't matter how many games from obscure/overhyped Japanese devs you have. If you're missing the
Un
Holy Trinity of CoD, Madden and Assassin's Creed, you're automatically irrelevant to 90% of gamers.

No it really doesn't.
It's about as useful as an online poll.

What a silly chart. Whatever makes you sell your console, Nintendo.

This image isn't going to help their sales problem. But yes, a silly chart indeed.

Gamerankings and Metacritic haven't always been kind to Nintendo.
With at least 10 reviews, the PS3 has nearly triple the amount of games rated 80% or higher than the Wii.

And we would always hear, "Nintendo doesn't care about these things!"

Well apparently they do.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but weren't there quite a few DKCTF reviews that deducted points simply because "It's on Wii U"?

If I remember correctly, it was because the "only platform on Wii U" and "Retro worked on DK instead of a new Metroid".

It's a shame.

I think it was also heavily effected by platformer fatigue:

2009: NSMBW
2010: DKCR
2012: NSMB2
2012: NSMBU
2013: NSLU
2013: DKCR3D
2014: DKCTF

(Not to mention SM3DL in 2011 and SM3DW in 2013)

Having played every one of those games, I personally haven't gotten around to Tropical Freeze yet. Hell, I didn't even finish DKCR3D until last year. I'm sure I will love it when I get to it, but I can understand why critics might have underscored it.

They aren't wrong.

(Unless we are counting Steam, but it does say other CONSOLES)

Also it's nice to see Nintendo acknowledge VLR. That game is great and it still saddens me to this day that we likely will never see ZE3.
Actually it says PLATLFORMS and even if you put the entire Nintendo catalogue from the last 3 years against the last year of steam releases it still loses badly. I say this as a die hard Nintendo fan that has owned all their hardware including the virtual boy. Man I wish I still had that thing.
