Nobody - Official Trailer (2021) - Bob Odenkirk, Christopher Lloyd

Sometimes the man you don’t notice is the most dangerous of all.

Emmy winner Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul, The Post, Nebraska) stars as Hutch Mansell, an underestimated and overlooked dad and husband, taking life’s indignities on the chin and never pushing back. A nobody.
When two thieves break into his suburban home one night, Hutch declines to defend himself or his family, hoping to prevent serious violence. His teenage son, Blake (Gage Munroe, The Shack), is disappointed in him and his wife, Becca (Connie Nielsen, Wonder Woman), seems to pull only further away.

The aftermath of the incident strikes a match to Hutch’s long-simmering rage, triggering dormant instincts and propelling him on a brutal path that will surface dark secrets and lethal skills. In a barrage of fists, gunfire and squealing tires, Hutch must save his family from a dangerous adversary (famed Russian actor Aleksey Serebryakov, Amazon’s McMafia)—and ensure that he will never be underestimated as a nobody again.

Nobody is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Ilya Naishuller (Hardcore Henry), from a script by Derek Kolstad, the narrative architect of the John Wick franchise, and co-stars legendary Emmy winner Christopher Lloyd as Hutch’s father and multi-hyphenate musician-actor RZA as Hutch’s brother, whose own hidden talents aid Hutch in his quest for vengeance.

The film is produced by Kelly McCormick, p.g.a, and David Leitch, p.g.a., the filmmakers of Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, Deadpool 2 and Atomic Blonde, for their company 87North, by Braden Aftergood, p.g.a. (Hell or High Water, Wind River), for his Eighty Two Films, and by Bob Odenkirk and Marc Provissiero (Hulu’s PEN15) for Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment. The film is executive produced by Derek Kolstad, Marc S. Fischer, Annie Marter and Tobey Maguire.

So it's basically John Wick mixed with The Equalizer? I'll be honest I was liking the trailer up til the "I used to work with..." part cause that just took me out of it, would've preferred something more akin to a modern day take on "Falling Down" than another John Wick.

Yeah, that kinda deflated me. It isn't a guy acting out of rage and impotence. He is just a super assassin

I like the joke at the end where it said "In theaters only February 26th" .... haha good joke, real knee slapper :messenger_grinning_sweat::messenger_grinning_sweat:

I'll catch it on VOD around Feb 27th I'm guessing ... add to my backlog of about 2758 other movies.

I love Bob Odenkirk and Christopher Lloyd- Definitely looking forward to this. :)
To be honest, I don't think I've watched Bob Odenkirk in any of the shows/movies mentioned but I did like the trailer. Nobody looks like a fun, cool action thriller. I definitely like Christopher Lloyd from the Back to the Future trilogy though.

I find this weird, looks like a shit ton of money was put into it but I would never pick this guy for that role. Now if they made it more a Falling Down film I can see that.

I am Become Bilbo Baggins
Looks generic and unoriginal. I haven't seen this film, but I feel like I've already seen this in John Wick, Taken, and Equalizer.

It would be better for this film if the main character was actually a nobody, who went on a mad, killing spree after falling off the deep end, maybe from the result of his family being killed. Something like the classic film Falling Down with Michael Douglas.

Rest

All these years later I still chuckle at what a fucking moron that guy is.
So Red + Taken?

Also, trailer music should have been this:

saw it today kinda does remind of john wick

but the protagonists main motivation to kick as$ because he missed kicking as$ was kinda weak compared to john wicks dog getting killed. christopher lloyd kicking as$ surprised me & made me laugh.

decent enough. id watch a sequel

So I watched this last night and really liked it overall. At first I thought it was going to be like Die Hard but once he became normal super hero invincible it just went from great to good. I really liked the idea but then why does every hero today or anti hero have to be invincible or not be slowed down by wounds? Give me a damn movie where the hero bleed and it makes for some challenging wins. Still worth watching just bummed me out that it followed the same pattern.

I agree 100% with quickwhips, the movie went from great to good during the third act where the movie turned comically action-y, they could have toned that down a bit to match the rest of the movie and it would have been perfect. Nevertheless it's a very fun movie and Odinkirk is such a great actor and so entertaining here. Despite my criticism of the last part I liked the movie a lot and would definitely recommend it.

Yep, Naishuller is awesome director, Nobody was great. Action was lot more comedic than I expected. Odenkirk is awesome as always.

That said, this was an 8/10 movie. Hardcore Henry was 9/10. I hope Naishuller will try to do another first person adrenaline rollercoaster someday.

Saw it tonight. Feels like it should be a spinoff of John Wick. Liked it overall as it was very cathartic to see some deserving people get their heads kicked in. Last act was kinda silly but still a worthy film if you had any affection for John Wick films. It was also filmed in my city, so I was interested in seeing places I could recognize.

Saw this in a theater while I was in Florida. Had a really good time with it. Just a small, fun action movie with lots of brutal violence and some light laughs. Perfect for a matinee.

Very enjoyable, is a bit over the top at parts, like a bit unrealistic, but Bob Odenkirk does a great job as the whooping ass lead.

So you want a Van Dame movie where gets beat the shit out of him, but in the last 5 minutes, girlfriend/wife in the public and has an epiphany about how to fight?

I actually think the "weight" of the fight scenes was well-done in Nobody. The battle damage is brutal and Odenkirk gets knocked down HARD in parts. I mean, yeah, he unrealistically bounces back but the fights definitely come off as tiring for everyone involved. It's not like The Raid (for example) where everyone appears nearly invincible.
