Not that I’ve not said it or mentioned it. But the triggers on the Duelsense are AWFUL and add nothing

Playing GTA V for the first time on PS5.

Played many games on it. Of course. Only had a PS5 for a few months.

The triggers sucks so hard. Not the buttons themselves. The rumble vibration nonsense. I'm sure I can turn it off. I hope

It's so unsatisfying to press. Simple shooting in GTA V we've all played since forever is now a workout and chore and it adds nothing to the game itself

I genuinely hope this doesn't become a thing. I've bitched on these triggers before. It's just stupid and doesn't make me feel more immersed in anyway. Who likes this??

Astro's Playroom was one of the few that really made it feel like next-gen with the triggers and vibration.

I wouldn't expect the DS to be leaps and bounds for games outside of PS5, especially. GTA Maybe you're talking about the enhanced version of GTA V, then maybe it's just poor implementation. Hasn't been specified.

Turned the trigger intensity bullshit off on the system level after just a few games.

The last thing I want when playing a game is for it to apply resistance on me trying to press the button.

And, yes, CrimsonTide CrimsonTide it is possible to turn it off in the settings.

It's the PS5 version of GTA V of course

I've played also many other PS5 Games with adaptive triggers and it sucks ass

A FEW times it's been cool. Like bow and arrow pull back type stuff.

You can turn it off.
Astro, Horizon, Spider-Man, Ratchet are good implementations.

The games that implement it correctly make actions more impactful. It depends on how they do it, though. Returnal is a prime example of Dual Sense made right. I wish more games did, it really adds to the gameplay.

Yeah. Turned it off on "game" level in GTA V now and it's fantastic

System level is a must for me now. I've played many PS5 games. Testing out my new baby (bought used)

And there's only been a time or two I've thought it felt nice. It's a chore mainly and I'm not here for it

And as an added bonus, it'll give some extra juice to the already paltry battery life these controllers have.

People here praised these cool vibrations to high heavens on Returnal as some mega innovative thing that changed the experience. When i actually played it on a ps5 it was a complete nothing burguer.

What is truly awful is to create a thread about the setting in the option menu. Just disable it and spare us of your rambling

This is a gaming forum and I'm giving my thoughts on a piece of gaming

Hopefully I'm not banned for it

I give tons to this community and love it and also love games. All systems and all games

I'm sorry we disagree. That's ok 👍 it's acceptable.

Astro I'm hearing is the GOAT on these things. That's great. I want to play it. But just tossing it on for the sake of it sucks ass for me
For 99% of games it's not very useful. Definitely not in any MP games. But yeah, Astro feels like Team Asobi is the only studio that got the full documentation for the controller.

I don't care for the triggers, but that isn't even the worse thing about DualSense. It is the battery.
I got the edge and immediately designated it a PC only always plugged in controller. Which is a waste. I don't understand how Sony thought that battery was acceptable.

Well put on both. It CAN be utilized in innovative ways

Also I HATE HATE the shit battery that can't be changed

HATE HATE it.

I turned off the force feedback stuff back when I had a PS5.
I think the controller is fine without that and the battery life increased to an almost usable level, still too low.
Physically the triggers need to be beefed up. They cut into my fingers with the skinny shape.

Legit "Austin powers" my car in here on one of the opening missions (I HATE THE OPENING OF THIS GAME BTW)

It won't reverse or go forward lol 😂

I just cranked up the intensity in the system settings to counteract you cowards.

Disagree. Some bad implementations don't take away from its usefulness.

In GT7 for example, it does a tremendous job of conveying information like grip, wheel spins, etc and playing without adaptive triggers makes the game feel empty, imo.

Sure, it isn't useful for every game and a lot of games don't implement it well, but when it is done well, it makes a huge difference and is instantly noticeable, imo

Agreed. When it's done well.

But it's not done well often in my personal experience. It's phoned in

Yeah, third party especially liked to phone it in somethimes. First party games on the other hand generally have good implementation of the stuff.

The implementation in gt7 is so good, I immediately notice it in racing games that don't have a similar level of implementation. Unless I am using a wheel, gt7 has ruined other racing games for me( atleast ones that don't use the haptic feedback and trigger properly).

Played too many games were it noticeably made a difference in just how much more I enjoyed the game where turning it off would be like watching an old 3D movie without the glasses - a fine experience, just not nearly as good.

That force feedback is great. It's been relegated to driving wheels since some experiments with flight sticks in the 90's. It's cool to see it show up, even in a small way lie the triggers. They should be used for any command that you are spamming though. Even then, there are still uses like the way returnal simulates a gamcube-like digital click at the bottom.

I turned them down to the lightest level through the system settings though. They're surprisingly strong. Much more than necessary to get the effect.

Overall thumbs up. Controllers have been standardized since the ps2 and it's nice to get something new once in awhile. People hate on the gyro and touchpad but those are just underused. Use a ds5 on pc and those features are clutch.

I'm no fanboy and don't have to make shit up. The battery sucks balls on this and wish we could just do AA batteries at this point

It's not just AA batteries that are better, it's everything else. My Switch and Switch 2 pro controllers last forever, like probably 30+ hours before needing a charge and I'll sometimes leave them lying around for weeks and barely anything gets drained
