[NPD] Nintendo Switch 2 set a new all-time launch week unit sales record for video game hardware in the US, with over 1.1 million units sold

Well.. they got me on the ratio. I didn't see much else to get, so opted for Mario Kart to get something. Enjoying it well enough though, but 80 seems steep. Is what it is.

Well deserved, it's a great port; especially for a launch game. I'm pretty sure they'll also bring Witcher 4, possibly day and date.
Yup. Excellent port of a legendary game, and they have it up and running at launch, truly impressive

With how well Witcher 3 sold on Switch, and how well this apparently will sell on Switch 2, I wouldn't be surprised if they aimed for day and date support in the future, yeah.

i actually had no idea the first Switch sold that much right on release. Impressive stuff!

Those kiddies sure do luv the Cyberpunk.
A friend's brother's father in law's extramarital 7yo nephews were absolutely happy to customize their genitals to match their feelings, Nintendo did it again.

I'm not in the US but I wonder if mine counts as a US sale since Latin America doesn't have official Nintendo distribution so I can imagine the ones we have take them from US supplies.

200k more than Switch (oh that's for the month, so it's even better than that), 100k more than PS4.

You do know it has to run on Series S right?

A few cut backs & it should be good to go
Series S has a better CPU, higher RAM bandwidth, and a higher power profile. All three of those things are likely to be ones that GTA6 cannot budge on, given the kind of game it is. Even Cyberpunk makes concessions to crowd and vehicle density to run on Switch 2, and its a lot less process intensive than GTA6 will be.

It sold 1M in 24 hours when it launched, no idea if it had any more stock after that for November.
Yes, although Sony's 1 million reported number is for North America, not USA (meaning sales from Canada and Mexico are also included, which are not included in numbers reported for USA specifically).

It can have pop-in like Driver 2 on PS1.

Yeah I just noticed it includes Canada in their statement.
How you know that if NPD tracked the whole month?
I was wrong, it was NA not US.
TOKYO, November 17, 2013 – Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCE) today announced that the highly anticipated launch of the PlayStation®4 (PS4™) computer entertainment system resulted in 1 million units sold through during the first 24 hours after it became available on November 15, 2013 in the United States and Canada.
So it's somewhere between 910k and 1.1 for November in the US.

BOTW was a phenomenal launch title for the system. Even some of my casual gamer friends wanted a Switch just to play BOTW, lol. I think they sold more NSW copies of BOTW than actual Switch consoles during the launch month.
