i was a bit low on ps4 this month (by about 10k), and even lower on xbox one (by about 20k). xbox one's sales actually increased by a lot considering what august usually is and how the system's been doing recently. the ps4's sales went up slightly when they should have gone down slightly, so it seems that for now things are stable at around 47.5k-50k a week. this will be the last 'normal' month of the year for really any platform, as bundles and deal are coming in this month, and continuing into october.
3ds fell into the spot i expected (just using aqua's numbers). i guessed about 60k for the wii u, which brings it to the 15k a week it was doing earlier in the year while also continuing to do much better year over year (although 38k would be even more like what the system had been doing percentage wise year over year before mario kart 8 came out). this is also apparently very wrong, and i was wrong for saying it.
i guessed what i thought would be low for vita - 10k. fuck me, right.
so here's that ol' running tally. i will update the wii u one once we get wii u numbers for the month.
vita ytd 2014: ~ 149,000
vita jan-august 2013: 236,000
vita feb-august 2012: ~ 795,000 (launch was in february)
i get the strong impression that the impending lbp/tearaway bundle will be scea's last push for the system in the us. it should push the system past 200,000 for the year in the us and it will probably be completely off store shelves before the end of 2015.
