We're approaching the Holidays, and Wii U had a game last month (Wii Party U), unlike in September.

How big is Wii Party U realistically? In September it had Wonderful 101 and WWHD. For all I know Wii Party U is only as big as W101. I expect to see numbers improve in November with regards to approaching the Holidays. Even PS3 was down over September and it had software last month.

While most people here probably don't want to hear this, instead of putting out 3D World, they should have been crunching to get Mario Kart out now instead. That's a game people would pay money for. It was constantly in the top 5 NPDs for years after it's release.

Black Friday sure saved the vita last year, didn't it?
Hint: black Friday sales only work for products people actually want to buy

Vita actually sold really well last Black Friday (for Vita at least). The Assassin's Creed bundle was heavily discounted for the weekend.

I don't really understand why people expect Remote Play to help the Vita much. I mean, there's another console that does something very similar (for less money) and we all know how much it sells...

Sonic: Lost World is looking like a Titanic bomba. It sold like 3000 copies in Japan on Wii U, and apparently didn't so hot in the UK.

SEGA gonna die
AGAIN

also lol @ angry birds

So maybe about 300k to 400k Wii Us sold till next fiscal year...😐

Lets be honest, the market has already rejected this machine and the two new systems haven't even been released yet.

So ...

Hardware Sales:
3DS: 452K
Xbox 360: 166K
PS3: ~110k
WiiU: ~55k
Wii: ~35k
PSV: ~25k

Software Sales
GTAV = 1.1m
Pokemon X & Y = 1.7m
Sonic Lost World (edit: 3DS + Wii U) <= 30k
Beyond 2 Souls - 120 - 125k
Angry Birds Star Wars = 3DS = 3.4k; Vita = 0.4k

What other info do we have atm?

I wouldn't say it's the true test. I'd be tempted to say its the penultimate test, with Mario Kart being the last chance to turn things around if things haven't already improved over the holiday.

There's still gonna be Smash afterwards. And an unlimited amount of ,,wait for next Direct/conference/new Miyamoto IP''...
And I assume the hope will die last for some.

Selling well "for vita" isn't saying much. Its finished as a stand alone system and all the black Fridays in the world aren't changing that. Where is it now? 2 million? 3 at the most?

The Wii isn't selling THAT bad, but the damage has been done. Black Friday isn't going to turn anything around for it.

Those Sonic sales are for both versions.

Functionality is different. Ps4 remote play works from anywhere there's an internet connection, not just 30 feet away.

If the ps4 is a hit, vita can get a small bump or a bundle, but Sony is clearly positioning this as an accessory/indie machine now

What? No. Probably 300k - 400k next month, maybe 600k in December, and then back to rock bottom for the rest of the fiscal year.

Why is December getting such a big jump over November? In recent years Dec has been comparable and even lower for some consoles.

November? Launch month for the ps4 and xbone? If it makes it above 100k it will be a miracle.

sub-100k in November? No fuckin way. Only possibility of that happening is if retailers have really lost THAT much confidence in the system and just have no stock, and I can't imagine Nintendo would let it get to that point. There's no way demand would be sub-100k, at least, especially during the holidays with a new EAD Tokyo Mario game.

If it did happen, I have no clue how Nintendo would react. It would be a disaster unlike anything we've seen with the console before.

If, and it is a big if, Donkey Kong is Feb and Mario Kart is March and they can provide evidence of constant releases throughout next year, maybe they have a shot at ... not going back to selling 7K a week. But there are so many ifs and maybes involved. Wii Fit U catching on again, even in a small way, would help, too, obviously.

Below 100K with a brand new EAD Tokyo Mario? Launch is making a few people crazy around here hehe......

100k in November,150k in December and then the remaining till March. But you're right, that might be too high.
Funny guy.

These guys are smoking something. That possibility isn't even worth considering.

Don't think the new baseline post holidays will be any higher? If it's not then dear God...

It's possible, but I doubt it. DKC has been delayed, and the marketing just isn't there. I honestly think a Wii U bundle with the new Wii Sports bundled in would've likely helped a great deal, but what do I know?

These numbers for Wii U show that people just don't see the system as anything better than the first Wii with an added touch screen. Basically it's not worth $300 bucks. Nintendo needs to lower that price way, way down:

to $199 or $149 and keep the great games coming along the way.

Just ride it out Nintendo, make a better design choice next time and think about how to get the consumer's attention.
