AJ vs Nakamura was match of the year?

It was at that time, yes. Wrestle Kingdom 10. No wait... There is a possibility that it wasn't because was thinking that WK10 was at the end of 2015 but actually it was 4th Jan 2016 (bad of me to forget as I had the opportunity to go there but couldn't due to other commitments). I need to check up again to see if it really knocked off by another match but as far as I am aware, it wasn't until early this year it was really knocked off.

Wasn't even the best match on the show, wasn't even the 2nd best match on the show.

Hell, I don't even think it's a top 5 NJPW match from last year.

🐐intro 😎 He didn't need to say anything and still got an ovation
Shane vs Shinsuke hype

No thank you. I really don't want to see that one happen. :( Heh, also... Shinsuke isn't known for working (as a top seller) to the same level as AJ Styles, which is why everyone says AJ is Phenomenal as he can work with anyone at any level and still deliver an amazing show whilst making his opponent look badass. This is something that Shane really pointed out about AJ Styles too, he is a rare breed. If Shane fights again Shinsuke, please expect something to a near execution... something painfully brutal.

Damn, now I gotta start watching Smackdown since I love Nakamura.

At least I heard it's supposedly way better than Raw these days, so maybe it's not a bad thing.

Wk 10 was Jan 4 2016
And even at the time many consider the main event , Okada vs Tanahashi to the better macth. Still a excellent match ,it definitely in the top 5 match of that year.

It was praised as the match of the show. So I guess I agree with half of what you said.

Wow. I guess my memories are screwed up. (EDIT: I just saw your update. I guess my memories didn't fail after all).

Oh yes, I met both Takahashi and Okada last weekend. Takahashi is super kind! I really enjoyed the fun - but light - wrestling event they pulled off. I took some high res pics of them in action. I wanted to take a movie but I had NJPW staff eyeing me from behind so it was dangerous for me to take any footage.

Naw you are right , and Tanahashi is super awesome , probably the greatest wreslter of this generation. I can't wait to meet him up G1 special USA.

you mean former NXT champion. He is not glorious enough to stand with the actual champion.

A freshly debuted wirey average looking asian wrestler is already more over with the crowd than Roman "Shoved Down Our Throats" Riegns is after what, two years?

I bet Vince is just thrilled and already planning the poor guys first 8 job matches to bury him.

Agreed, it wasn't anything truly great but it was a good show.

Yeah that title belonged to Okada vs Tanahashi. That was the match that blew me away as well as many other people. Meltzer gave it a solid 5/5 which it deserved.
*edit* just saw your edit lol

His intro is usually epic but I thought this was pretty lackluster. I am surprised there is even a thread. He just walks out to the ring and nothing much at all happens. I thought Tye Dillinger's intro was better.

?

Live sporting event? And newsworthy? Literally on the front page of YouTube? Trending worldwide on Twitter?

I was so mad when all these tv networks SPOILED North Carolina winning on Monday, like hey assholes I had that DVRed and I was gonna watch it in a few weeks

To be fair, it's not a sporting event. It's an episodic TV show. If people can kick off about, say, GoT being spoiled before it airs in their region, they can complain about this too.

The thread title lacks tact.

Newsflash: there are non american gaffers which usually watch Raw & Smackdown later because of time differences. We're avoiding wrestling sites, etc...Don't act like pro wrestling shows are a sporting events, it's ridiculous. It's like spoiling a character death in last Games of Throne episode.

I dont actually watch WWE these days except for a few matches here and there and from what i have seen of Shinsuke he is fantastic.

He is everything about wrestling that makes it great - has personality oozing off him, doesnt even need to speak to get himself over and to differentiate himself from others, fantastic wrestler, has amazing music that the fans can chant along with.

Hell i was watching his entrance from the latest Takeover and my wife looks up after hearing his music and says "Is that Nakamura? I like him :)" and she doesnt even really like wrestling.

Come on OP, what's wrong with you? This hasn't aired on the West Coast yet, thanks for ruining the surprise.

Spoiler? Lmao, he didn't even do anything, just walked out and that was it.

Spoiler: A guy walked during the show

In thread titles, as soon as it's aired exclusively on the East coast of the USA? Cooooooool.
Yup! Although maybe putting Nakamura in the title was a bit much I admit. But as soon as something's aired its fair game, I still remember this happening after almost every single episode of LOST and people getting pissed

It's not fair game to post anywhere on GAF beyond the official threads.

Yes. It's also fine before the shows air. Clearly you weren't watching when Mankind won his first title. We all knew before it aired. And that was something major. It wasn't just a guy walking out.

Nitro used to give out results of each Raw show before Raw aired.

If I can wish anything to make that feud even more epic, I want them to Main Event the next Wrestlemania (or at least Summer Slam) for the WWE Championships (one that AJ must win) and - a person can dream - AJ Styles uses his I AM I AM persona (please keep the hair but get it done by an Asian hair stylist like when he was here in Japan) complete with his original awesome I am I am theme song and the debut of his ultimate finisher, Spinal Tap. of course, the Spinal Tap must only be used on selected individuals and key big event moments:

Right on. The NJPW makeovers of recent years have been otherworldly and AJ is clearly missing that JP hair tech.

Sigh. Fuck sake. I avoid all wrestling related sites, twitter, youtube etc in anticipation of cool Smackdown surprises. I click on Neogaf offtopic just once and get this. I was literally just about to start watching Smackdown. Fuck sake.

GAF OT is basically a news site. If you're avoiding Twitter, should you probably avoid GAF as well.

Or maybe we believe gaffers are smart enough to follow basic courtesy rules:

Neogaf Member Etiquette and New Thread Rules

Avoid putting spoilers in thread titles
If you are making a thread, consider for a moment that some people might want to avoid knowing certain things about a game/movie/TV show/whatever. As such, being a little more vague is better than being inconsiderate.
