NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura debuts on SmackDown - Epic Intro

I'd have to agree with your reaction.

Luckily I avoided GAF from the point RAW started Live until Smackdown was finished for I knew that people would spoil it. Such a shame for it was truly spoiled for you and everyone else in the same boat. Once you went on GAF there was no way you could have avoided it since the OP put the spoiler right in the title. Damn, it was such a joyful moment when he debuted too for all the rumours was pointing Shinsuke to RAW (disastrous mistake and the same to Asuka if they attempted to put her there) and HHH was fighting Vince hard to get him onto Smackdown, a moment you sadly missed.

For shame, OP. For shame... A little more tact next time. No, it doesn't have to go in the Wrestlemania thread for that thread is pages forever long, but please be careful the way you present such important info.

Why is it so significant that Shinsuke debuted on Smackdown and not RAW? Are the shows that different?

Shinsuke is awesome, haven't watched this past year though because wwe is a serious time commitment I can't make during school :(

Twitter, YouTube etc. I understand. But it's more reasonable to suggest that people don't namedrop big surprises in thread titles on Gaf, than those who don't live on the east coast "stay off the internet".
Not really, people go to GAF for news, sports news, etc.

Is it a live event in Television? Are you unable to watch it? Do you care about being spoiled? Stay off the internet till you can watch it. Mute keywords on Twitter.

Thank you for convincing us that it's our fault. It was completely unreasonable for us to expect spoiler free titles about the season premiere of a television show.

Ahh. So based on the "Shinsuke debuting on RAW would have been disastrous" talk, I'm guessing Smackdown is considered the better show these days? Or does it just lend itself better to his style?

Raw's a 3 hour mess of a show that's usually a chore to get though whereas Smackdown's a well paced 2 hour show that tries to utilize everyone on its roster (for the most part). Basically, Shinsuke has a higher chance of being used right on Smackdown than he does on Raw.

Raw is 3 hours which I feel is to long of a show, smackdown only 2 so they can always keep the heat on. Raw has many many many writers, one week you will work with one another week maybe a different one so it lack continunity. Smackdown I believe has one writer and they used to write for nxt, so stories can be more fleshed out. Back in the day WWE had 1 writer and he sketched everything out on story boards etc to help build feuds. I would also say the talent, raw has lots of talent but not used effectively. Smackdown, Miz has been lighting it up with the Cena fued, and generally they are giving guys a look where on Raw they wouldnt. Luke Harper is a tall, muscular guy but moves like a cruiserweight. He looks like he may be finally getting a shot due to the fact the crowd is on his side and he has been in a few main event shows for tv.

They both could be better but smackdown seems to have more of a lock down of what they are doing and which talent to push compared to Raw with "the big dog"

Problem with the "buh buh the Super Bowl, Academy Awards, WrestleMania!" line is, those shows are not aired on tape delay. Smackdown "Live" is.

I don't even have a problem with the discussion within the OP, but there couldn't even be an ounce of consideration in the thread title? I can't even imagine what this forum would do if someone spoiled a major event on Game of Thrones in the title the instant it aired and defended it as, "welp, shoulda watched it when it aired, too bad so sad."

I could not care less about spoilers, but what happened to common forum etiquette? I actually agree with those who say this isn't that big of a spoiler, and was easy enough to figure out, but for some people, it is a big deal. And their feelings aren't invalid just because you don't see it as important.

It was still a "spoiler". Even in that OP, they said that Taker lost to Reigns. Can't cherry pick saying that the Taker thread isn't a spoiler but this one is.

Unless I'm thinking of a different thread, that OP says nothing of the sort.

It's sports entertainment. Not The Walking Dead. Does the Walking Dead have a Twitter page that posts what happens throughout the show with video and gifs? Does TWD have a YouTube channel that posts shit like 10 minutes after it happens? No? Aight then.

my mistake on that one, I swore I saw that

Actually, TWD does post gifs right after they happen on the east coast and retweet fans.

Actually yes, they do in their live tweeting during it, a lot of shows do, especially CW shows.

EDIT: Beaten, meh.

This reminds of the GoT spoilers on 9GAG. "If you really care about GoT you watch it live or only few hours later" LOL

I'm sorry if I don't live in the USA and I have to wait the day after to watch it in my country. And of course I avoid Twitter, YT, etc...

And YES, this is a spoiler.

But hey "spoiler culture OMG you guys LOL "

I have never watched a match with this dude, but that entrance music is great.

Hope he stays motivated and brings that workrate up, at least for the big events. He should be able to pull good matches out of most of that SD roster. At the very least I wanna see him get another go-around with AJ. Try to top their WK match!

I'm the op and like I have said, the video was was from YouTube. The official WWE YouTube page I believe. I didn't know that this was a spoiler. I just thought it was an epic intro. If I did something wrong for not knowing, then sorry but again I just liked the intro

Why is it so significant that Shinsuke debuted on Smackdown and not RAW? Are the shows that different?

HHH has more control of Smackdown to which he works alongside with Shane. HHH has total control of NXT even though Vince dips in now and again (when he dips in the show end up sucking a bit). Smackdown has proven itself numerous time to be a much better product than RAW ever since the control changes. Numerous review Youtube channels (such as Wrestle Talk TV, a good one to subscribe to) reviewed Smackdown as the superior show and Talking Smack is a great icing to it. Yes, it's not better than NXT but compared to RAW, it is much better.

HHH and his team has been protecting and handling both Asuka and Shinsuke very carefully, which is why they have been having superb runs in NXT. Under Vince's thumb, they would be a mess. NEVER trust Vince and his creative team, they would figuratively kill them.

Listen to this man¬!

Right on. The NJPW makeovers of recent years have been otherworldly and AJ is clearly missing that JP hair tech.

Indeed. When he was here in Japan, AJ looked frigging awesome. Something out of an anime. Japanese girls were going absolutely nuts for him:

AJ, I'm not surprised that people are calling you a soccer mom. Get your hair done by a Japanese hair stylist! haha.

That intro is awesome and that music sticks with you. Love it! Is he in the latest WWE video game?
Do yourself a favor and watch old NXT recordings om the network, youtube, dailymotion, wherever.

All of them.

Best wrestling around

It's only like a spoiler like a actor appearing on GoT for a role would be a spoiler. Like Jonathan Pryce is going to appear in Season 6. Anyone who called that a spoiler would rightfully get laughed at.

It's not a spoiler. It is just like saying this actor is going to be on GoT.

like he said.

A lot of people in this thread seem to think people who aren't in the EC just don't deserve to watch anything without expecting to get spoiled (which is obviously bullshit). I guarantee all of you wouldn't be saying any of this if you weren't already on the EC and actually cared about the shows.

It's not a spoiler. It is just like saying this actor is going to be on GoT.

No, it's more like saying a character is going to be on GoT, which is actually a spoiler.

Lotta "fuck you got mine" attitudes in here regarding common courtesy towards your fellow forum dwellers. Show some tact towards people who live in other time zones.

Wrestler debuts/comebacks are huge moments in wrestling. You just have to watch what/who got the biggest pops at Wrestlemania & Raw to realise what you're saying is an inapt comparison.

A character who has never been on the show before.

My doppelganger.

Nakamura works for the Wwe him appearing on a WWE TV isn't a spoiler. Like the whole point of NXT is for people to just to main roster and it was pretty obvious he was going to be on Smackdown.

He also is pretty hard to understand in promos so this will keep it short. It's the best move for everyone.

YouTube. YouTube. YouTube. But YouTube bro.

Spoiler culture is the absolute fucking worst. IT'S A LIVE FUCKING EVENT, GET OVER IT. IT'S FAIR GAME. Comparing this to something like GoT is asinine.

It's like complaining that someone posted a thread about UNC winning the national championship right after it happens. Jesus Christ, y'all are too much.

WWE is a scripted storyline program no different than any other television show besides the fact that its filmed live and not pre-recorded (usually). It has more in common with Walking Dead than it does NCAA Basketball.

Wrestling is not the same as a sports event, and I don't know why some of you are so oblivious to this. This stuff is more akin to a soap opera, and the fact is that it had literally only aired in the EC at the time of this posting.
