Just make Christie head of everything. Christ.

You know a list is horrific when Christie is the best option.

Also, don't these people need to go through congress to get the position? Surely sane republicans wouldn't let in Arpaio/Bannon, would they?

Hey U.S., can you please not destroy the whole rest of the planet in your horrible decision? I live there.

At least Brexit is mainly limited to the UK.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck let's hope there's at least a couple of R senators that believe in Climate Change...

A man can dream.
There are several Republicans who believe in climate change. They're also mostly chickenshit cowards who will do whatever they're told.

Any time I try to imagine a future in and after Trump's America for four years, I look at this list and lose hope all over again.

Chief of Staff would not need to be approved by the Senate. It's moot anyway, because Republicans control the Senate and will surely nuke the filibuster to prevent any Dems from protesting these choices. That, and they're spineless cowards who are deathly afraid of primary challengers.

Here's some stuff on Jeff Sessions, he's named after a Confederate general.

Jeff sessions

Sessions has long been a leading voice for the Old South and the conservative white backlash vote, now courted by Trump. Sessions has been the fiercest opponent in the Senate of immigration reform, a centerpiece of Trump’s campaign, and has a long history of opposition to civil rights, dating back to his days as a US Attorney in Alabama in the 1980s. The Senate rejected Sessions for a federal judgeship during the Reagan administration because of racist statements he made and for falsely prosecuting black political activists in Alabama.

But that 47% that stayed home and voted for no one. Yeah, this is on you all.
It's really not. I made an informed decision to abstain from voting, finding both candidates going against my conscience (though Trump far moreso, obviously).

My state is always blue. It was blue this time as well, to the surprise of zero people. Hillary got all of the electoral votes I could have literally mathematically contributed to. I knew this going into election day, and that was part of my decision to not vote.

So tell me, how is Trump's victory my fault?

No, everyone on the left fucked up and should take responsibility. The infighting is getting down right depressing. The DNC, Clinton campaign, Bernie and his supporters, and bullshit third party candidates like Stein fucked this up.

Some may deserve more blame than others, but no one bothered to take responsibility, find common ground, and work together. That coupled with ignoring a large group of America, the left deserved to lose.
Fair enough, there were failing on many fronts. But curbing Hillary's hubris could've fixed a lot of them. She should've made an attempt to personally win over Bernie supporters, just have Bernie endorse wasn't enough (especially since Bernie mostly was on her side, because he was against Donald Trump), she should've warned the DNC not to try anything dumb in her favour during the primary, she probably could've won without the Wassermann Schulz bullshit, this just strengthened her negative establishment image and of course the whole business of ignoring rural areas and throwing fund raisers instead of getting her face to the people, especially the Rust Belt.

Not much to do about Jill Stein, but that was a rather small factor compared to the rest.

Which presidents are Trump's competition for worst ever? Dubya is up there, especially with his phenomenally low approval rating on the way out and the Iraq War based on WMDs that didn't exist.

I mean, this is going to be a clusterfuck of such historic proportions I can't even fathom the shithole the next POTUS will need to dig us out of.

Are
Fucked

James Buchanan and Andrew Johnson are the ones usually thought of as the worst ever. GWB was bad, but not on their level. Trump could be.

Joe Arpaio from sheriff to a homeland security. If this happens, wow, brown people will be fucked. I guess all you really need to do in America to succeed is be super racist.

I just hope that the most ridiculous names are leaks meant to mollify his most rabid supporters. A signal that they were thinking about them before they sold them out to established Republicans.

sometimes i manage to convince myself that we know so little about trumps actual policy positions that maybe his administration won't be so bad. some of his populist message, and big infrastructure spending could actually narrow income disparities, for example.

then i remember this:

Joe Arpaio - Departing sheriff of Maricopa County, Ariz.

David A. Clarke Jr. - Milwaukee County sheriff

and think about how bad its inevitably going to be for minorities in this country and i get incredible depressed.

I felt people bringing up the possibility of internment camps was overboard, but thats a real possibility if Arpaio gets any significant government job.The man seems to enjoy being nasty to brown people and he runs his prisons like a cartoon villain.

If you and other like-minded individuals continue to not vote, that safe blue state eventually becomes red.

I am reading about this Arpaio guy. Holy shit. A long-ass Wikipedia article about his neverending list of controversies, some of which are truly horrifying (the story about ignoring the 13 year old rape victim for years is particularly harrowing). And he's a birther. Still. Even Trump himself finally disavowed the birther shit, but this guy still said as of Sept. 2016 that President Obama's birth certificate is a forgery.

And that's not even counting his other instances of extreme racism, his horrifying abuse of prisoners, etc. Guy doesn't care about justice or protecting victim, he's a sociopath madman on a power trip.

Secretary of Homeland Security? Unreal.

David A. Clarke as Homeland Security Secretary? That is the real bad choice here, along with Attorney General. Lord have mercy.

He tries to kiss his kids for publicity but kids will be kids. There's nothing more to it

Yeah, as much as I hate on Cruz, having young kids throw a snit in a public place is a no win scenario. There is no way you can look good dealing with them.

And fucking Clarke is literally crazy. I haven't seen a firm source for the positions and hope people are just running with rumors and nothing is confirmed other than his few toadies getting something for the effort, like Rudy and Christie. Although the rumor is that Trump's son in law has it out for Christie who put his dad in jail for a year. What a happy family.
