Ok so what exactly do we expect to come out of this? Is Teflon Don going to swallow that bullet without a scratch like he always has or is it the beginning of the fall?

“The emails are simply put damning as a legal matter,” explains Ryan Goodman, a former Defense Department special counsel and current editor of the legal site Just Security. “The text of the emails provide very clear evidence of participation in a scheme to involve the Russian government in federal election interference, in a form that is prohibited by federal criminal law.”

Jens David Ohlin, a law professor at Cornell University, is even blunter: “It’s a shocking admission of a criminal conspiracy.”

“The law states that no person shall knowingly solicit or accept from a foreign national any contribution to a campaign of an item of value,” Goodman tells me. “There is now a clear case that Donald Trump Jr. has met all the elements of the law, which is a criminally enforced federal statute.”

This is very big reveal, but maybe not EasyD killer in itself. Mueller will pull on this thread hard and add this into pile of other threads he has going on.

It all adds up.

Jr. is very fucked either way.

I'm still trying to understand why Trump Jr., like, tweeted the exchange out, exactly...?

You know how sometimes someone says "inb4" when they know what someone else is going to say, like somehow that makes it look less bad because they said it first? This is the real life version of that

Some Democrat needs to hold a press conference asking if anyone can provide any link of these emails directly to the President to please come forward.

I mean, collusion isn't illegal right?

If you find yourself asking this after every bit of news then you are doing yourself a disservice. Every single revelation is adding to the pile, quit looking for him to be jailed at every article. Lol if you think Trump hasn't been touched yet.

Collusion, yet another thing we can add to the "Trump made it ok" pile.

Trump's most lasting effect might be the lowering of standards we will have in elections going forward.

Since the campaign, a popular, behind-his-back nickname for Trump Jr. within among these advisers has been “Fredo,” referring to Fredo Corleone, the insecure and weak failure of a son in The Godfather series who ends up causing major damage to the family.

Over the past week, one senior White House official and a former top Trump campaign aide both independently and bluntly described the president’s son as an “idiot” — one who played a role in the campaign and Trump’s political rise simply because he “shares the same DNA,” the official noted.

Lmao jr is such a fucking clown

Me, not knowing the actual rules and laws on presidencial campaigns and treason of US. Realistically these are incriminating news that would (not "can" but "would) lead to criminal persecution?

Is it possible for any of them to face the death penalty for this?

haha, lordy. Trump isn't going to get impeached for this. His family isn't going to get any sentences. Get real people. Rich people like this in our county avoid the law with impunity.

Yes, the average Texan is definitely focused on regulatory reform.

one of Cruz's representatives is meeting with my wife and her boss today. They work for a hospital, they're both liberal. Wife and I talked about how to tell them Repubs AHCA bill directly affects their business and care for patients as they are a largely paid by insurance.

It goes against all laws of campaign finance to receive assistance from a foreign power. Trump has called for it in the past but now we have full proof it actually occurred.

This is a treasonous offense and all those involved should be removed from their positions. The question is: How far does this extend? The Trumps, Kushner, and Manafort were compicit but who else? Did Pence know? Flynn? Bannon?

Hopefully we see actual repercussions for treason

1987. Donald Trump visits the Soviet Union, specifically Moscow and Leningrad.

Immediately after he returns he expresses interest in running for office and takes out full page ads in major newspapers railing against NATO.

Trump ran for president several times over the subsequent decades.

He was the architect of the Birther nonsense to attempt to discredit Obama.

This election has been in the making for 30 years.
