Sent an email to my Senator stating the same thing. No response.

i've emailed and tweeted at Cornyn and Cruz they don't care. But i imagine if one of their actual representatives are taking the time to go somewhere to meet that those people might have more sway. Cruz is trying to get re-elected after all.

Also, just in case anyone's wondering...

Fox News certainly isn't on Trump's side here. Been letting it go in the background for an hour now, and while they're still taking shots at Democrats and Obama, they are unequivocally saying that the meeting should not have happened.

One segment just played that was a total takedown (sorry for lack of specifics)
- They shouldn't have been talking to the guy that arranged the meeting
- They shouldn't have taken a meeting with a Russian national
- They - as individuals - shouldn't have done the meeting
- Russia is a hostile nation and this is bad.
- Trump Jr is very foolish for releasing this stuff over Twitter.

Right. It's usually the prime time shows that rev up the propaganda. Tucker, Hannity, and 4/5 of the five.

I hope Cruz get primaried. I would hit that checkbox for almost anyone else.

Bernie Sanders tells me re: Don Jr emails: “These are very, very, very serious allegations" but “there should not be a rush to judgment"

fuck this guy and his stans

Bernie has some good ideas, but he is an asshole. He hates Clinton more because of personal reasons than he gives a shit about what is happening to the country. I'm really disappointed in him...

Bernie haters are so weird.

yea. Hey did you see that Republican kill Texas' bathroom bill? I did a double take, he said something to the effect of "its time for republicans to get back to fiscal issues and stop fighting for christian values" or something like that.

Preet isn't on the taskforce.

Being desperate to win doesn't disqualify them from committing treason.

No, but treason requires proof of intent. You have to prove that their motivation and intent was to harm US interests. Some legal analysts that I've read have also indicated that "treason" really requires a declaration of war, but that's up in the air (and really for Congress to decide).

As an example, if you steal money from the US government, that's not "treason" because your intent was to get rich. If you accept foreign donations, that's not "treason" because your intent was to win an election.

Even if it is treason, Congress prosecutes acts of treason, and do you really think that the GOP is going to go that far? Let's start with impeachment.

Yelling "treason" is going to (rightfully) get eye-rolls from conservatives. You'll engage them better by just saying "it's extremely criminal."

This is going to be a historic week.

Stay on target, people.

BBC said:
Natalia Veselnitskaya said Donald Trump Jr and two senior campaign aides may have met her last summer because they were "longing" for such information.

...

Ms Veselnitskaya said the meeting was set up by a man she did not know who told her by telephone to go to Trump Tower.

Mr Trump Jr asked her just one question during the meeting, she said.
"The question that I was asked was as follows: whether I had any financial records which might prove that the funds used to sponsor the DNC [Democratic National Committee] were coming from inappropriate sources.

"It is quite possible that maybe they were longing for such information. They wanted it so badly that they could only hear the thought that they wanted."

Ms Veselnitskaya denied ever having worked for the Russian government.

You guys should back off "treason." Treason requires proof of intentionally undermining the United States. When I look at the story, I see people desperate to win.

This is extremely criminal, but I doubt it's ever going to reach the level of "treason."

18 USC § 2381

"Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States."

It's not about "intentionally undermining the United States". The likely application of treason here could be if the Trump campaign conspired to hack (i.e. Podesta's emails), if such an act is interpreted as an act of "war". Even Senator John McCain suggested that Russian hacking could be viewed as an "act of war" in late 2016.

Nothing wrong was said here.

GAF loves rushing to judgement, so of course many here wouldn't like what he said.

Is this legit? If so, on the one hand, that's yet another superb addition to Mueller's "Justice League." On the other hand, Preet was fired by Trump earlier this year and has been very outspoken about this matter on Twitter, so I won't be surprised if naysayers try to undermine the force by highlighting that Preet may have his own personal biases.

The FBI obviously has loads of evidence for major criminal conspiracies and treason at this point. When do we actually start getting arrests? They need to get these people out of power ASAP.

Of course it's not legit. Do you know who that is?
