I am going to assume we will see Nash again in some form today. Maybe take out CM Punk during/before 3-way match.

Never doubt Nash. I see big daddy cool/Big Sexy/Super Shredder coming in TO MAKE EVERYTHING COOL AGAIN!

i guess not. It would be cool if they could get the Wcw Tv Title, so they can continue that title legacy. Disco Inferno 4 lyfe.

Yeah, it's a shame WWE never brought the title over when they bought WCW, as at that point the belt had been defended for 25+ years. But Vince doesn't give two shits about legacy beyond "longest running episodic program on television!" and "trending worldwide!".

Dusty was always my favourite TV title champ, nothing beats him finally winning the belt from Arn Anderson;

Dat pop, dat promo. Duth-tay, baby!

I'm most looking forward to reading the comments in this thread about "Bringing Miz and Truth back too soon!".

Tonight is stacked with tv. Hung, How To Make It In America, Homeland, Dexter, Breaking Bad. I can't blame anyone for watching this stuff over the ppv. All of these are good to great.

Maybe they like the Doofus era!

Them returning soon would actually work well unlike CM Punk whose entire shtick was how he was leaving.

lol people STILL complaining Punk coming back too soon? Oh please. I guess I can't speak for everyone but personally I would have tuned out if he didn't return. The only reason I didn't completely tune out was Punk's promo and then every RAW/PPV that followed.

YESSSS

He will come back and destroy Orton

You mean Henry? Gotta give him someone to feud with after he jobs the title back to Boreton!

Him returning soon was what brought about Kevin Nash texting himself.

There are other ways to keep focus on a guy without having him at the show the very next week.

Just another reason why Steen > Punk ;)

Yeah, that is true, but I'd rather watch Punk vs Nash than Cena vs Del Rio for 6 months.

Just sayin.

ROH takes it too far with Steen though. They should be mentioning the angle on tv or add some kind of spliced in nwo-esque paid for commercial to the show. Reports from last night's taping are saying that production quality looks alot better from this first set of tapings so that's good atleast.

Wasn't it you that said Punk hasn't done anything notable since Money in the Bank? Imagine if Punk's 'Cult of Personality" comeback happened this month. The hype would have been amplified tenfold.

The only reason I'm keeping one eye on the PPV tonight is that if I rage, I'll have a good reason to to continue my current pattern of watching WWE.
fast forwarding though all the shows in 15 minutes

Only warped IWC minds think Punk appearing at no-named wrestling gigs with the title would reach out to anyone that matters.

The fact is, Punk needed exposure on RAW. Nothing else. RAW. 4 million or so watch that show weekly. Why WOULDN'T he return?

Nope, not me.

It would have been good to see him returning at say, Royal Rumble but like I said, he is the only reason I care about WWE right now so for me it's good that he came back sooner rather than later.

That's actually the best way to do it. Just watch the segments you want to see afterwards on youtube. I've been doing that for Smackdown and TNA and it's so much better. I need to start doing that with Raw too, but it's kind of fun to be on here during the show making fun of it.

Then why not remind people that he left instead of rushing him back? Mention Punk once or twice during the show each week, then leave it at that. Doing that lets people keep him in the back of their mind, but also doesn't totally distract from the show. Then once Punk comes back, it means more.

Punk winning and leaving with the title got the first POSITIVE mainstream media coverage WWE has had for years. I'm pretty sure it would have been a great opportunity for Punk to do the rounds on talk-shows and put over the fact that he's left with their belt, that he's the rightful champion and his disgust at them crowning a paper champion in John Cena.

He's mentioned on the TV tapings from last night - some plants chant for Steen and Cornette addresses the situation. Also, remember when he was coming back at Best in the World most of the fans thought it was too early, and that was 6 months after his last appearance at Final Battle.

Sure, they'll have to give it more focus if they want to get the storyline over with any new fans garnered from the TV show, but those already following ROH mostly seem quite happy with how the story is progressing.

It might be better for YOU and anyone else who watches a program with a roster of 40+ people for one person (which is the WWE's fault), but in hindsight it did absolutely NOTHING for the numbers, or the angle. Since Punk came back and Vince was removed from the story it's been downhill at a RAPID pace.

It's like almost every situation where I can say "I called it" with the WWE, it's a negative thing. :lol

Thats great that people that follow ROH are happy with the angle, but the whole point of getting tv on Sinclair is to get new fans, not keep the old ones happy.

Do people actually miss Kane or Big Show? Who wants them to come back?
Big Show? Not to many people care, but I love Kane. Yeah, he isn't that great anymore, but so what, he's reliable and has been consistently over for 14 years.

And you think explaining the totality of the angle during their new 1 hour TV show is the way to do that? An angle, bear in mind, whose seeds were sown midway through 2009. Either you explain the whole thing to the new TV fans, or you chuck the feud out there without the build-up that makes it so special, that made Steen vs Generico the Observer's feud of 2010.

It's building to Final Battle, it was always been building until Final Battle, with or without TV. They don't need to rush Steen back just because they've now got TV. There are plenty of other feuds to focus on for the TV crowd. Briscoes vs ANX for one.

You enjoy his matches? The ones he has had the last few years?

not to mention playoff baseball and sunday night football!

so any word on who the annoce team will be?

if King is still out that might force vince to let JR commentate a PPV but he will probably go with booker, cole, josh mattews for the lulz.

also I really want beth to win the title... its getting silly now.

They don't have to explain the totality of the angle, but like I said you could have something where he "hacks" into the tv show feed and cuts a promo how he is banned from ROH and if you think what you are watching is wrestling than watch this, then he shows clips of him doing various brutal moves on opponents. Something like this would get new people thinking "damn who is this guy?" and drum up some interest.

BoboBrazil said:

There are few guys' matches who I enjoy, period, but for the most part, yeah. Unfortunately, Kane is usually matched up against terrible people (he's had more matches with Khali than anyone, and his title run was marked with a one armed Taker). He wrestles the WWE style of slow brawling mixed in with the same repeated moves, but I thought he's improved his in ring psychology over the past six years.

Yeah, it may not be great, but I'd rather watch Kane than Henry/Show/Khali/Jackson any day.

Hoping for Cole, Mathews, Booker. Mathews and Booker can keep up with Cole's (McMahon's) ribbing and jokes and turn it into good natured fun. JR is past his prime and his whole, 'turtle-up, stay quiet, sticks and stones, play the victim' -shtick is annoying.

Well Excuuuuuuuuse JR if he doesn't want to play Vince's stupid "let's get ourselves over instead of the match" games with Cole.

If they find something to do with Kane when he comes back, then I'm all for it. He doesn't even need the mask at this point, just fit him in somewhere rather than let him float in obscurity.

The Big Show on the other hand, I really don't care for. Although, I did like his short-lived meanstreak when he wore the yellow glove for a bit.

BoboBrazil said:

Kane lost it about a year after his mask got taken off. Big Show was only interesting for a year in my view, so yeah I don't miss either of them.
