Getting the Republicans to vote in favour of universal health care, environmental regulations and free college tuition would be one oustanding achievement to say the least, though. I agree that with people like uncelestial, it is a tough fight and potentially a lost cause for him to try become the Democratic presidential candidate, but it's better to fight for it in an environment where success in that endeavour means being able to work towards your political positions, than in an environment that may not be toxic to his identity, but to his ideas. That being said, as a secular jew who does not believe in a deity, and as a social democrat (or as some Republicans like to call it, in demonstration of their severe lack of political literacy: communist), he would probably run into identity issues with the Republicans as well. Just different ones.

Resetera mods decided (unsurprisingly) that debating the possibility of the assumed victim being a liar is outruled; which is consistent with their previous decisions on such issues. As long as they do not feel a general policy change in that regard is in order (which they could of course have thought due to the outcome, but obviously have not), it would be inconsequential to unban people who acted against their rules because they (likely) guessed right. If they were to unban the people who accused Smollett early now, they should rework their general policy and be more liberal in their judgment of such causes, but if they intend to continue forbiding questioning alleged victims without hard evidence, which I think they do, they cannot do this.
However, the other thing (I think) you pointed out earlier about banning people for debating the evidence for competitiveness of non-trans women with trans women based on scope, field and bias of the author was a clear example of why it is a mistake to make a trans woman the main protagonist to moderate trans issues. SweetNicole's experience as a trans person could certainly help to inform moderation of such issues and I have no obligations towards making sure people of such groups are part of the team, but if they are very personally involved with the topic, they shouldn't have the final say, because they naturally lack objectivity.

Oh i totally get why they don't ban after the story being proven false. Doing so would be an admittance of wrongful moderation and they would have to think about doing it better. SweetN does not care about that because it may jeopardize her ability to ban anyone having non-NPC thought, so they just dig their heads in the sands and through Official Staff Communication and a shit-tier tone they are controlling the whole thing.

Hey everyone, ResetEra member here. I just created a NeoGAF account, and to be honest, I don't really see myself switching my main forum (in fact I don't even know how often I'll post here). So, I'll give some thoughts on the site:
Yes, ResetEra is far from perfect. I have many issues with it myself (particularly the lack of transparency and too much ambiguity for my liking) and yes, many people can be overbearing with their liberalness
However, in terms of deciding a forum, I don't look for the perfect place. I look for the best in terms of activity (ResetERA is very active) and not allowing aspects that I want to deal with. So, while ResetERA may be a bit ban happy at times, I'd rather it be that way than not banning posts that support sexism, racism, transphobia, etc.
As for NeoGAF, I don't talk to you guys here much so I can't speak for how you are in that regard, but lurking this thread I have seen some posts that I find troublesome, and I think they highlight very well why many ERA members don't come here
Many ERA members have extreme depression and social anxiety, myself included. So, many use ERA as an outlet, which while potentially problematic as it could exacerbate depression, is also a place where many want to just be able to hang out without having to deal with all of the troubles and hardships of life.
This is essentially a futile endeavour, this thread, since everybody's mind is already set. The NeoGAF users have made up their mind on the ResetERA users, and vice versa. I know from my time dealing with people on VGChartz (which I ended up leaving for ERA) that most conversations end up with neither side changing their views. And I generally won't change mine because I tend to consider it to be correct.
Oheao was also banned as a spammer for this post where he reveals he only advanced to be able to PM. I remember now that he wanted to speak to Blam

So dude is just extremely socially panicking and that thread might be the result of having an attack. Hell, i wouldn't put it past him that he just made a blanket plan for 5 days and simply was too scared to continue further or cancel the whole ordeal and so he went for 5 days when he is supposed to stay for 5 months.
If that's the case, then i have to ask: Who the fuck is guiding this user? Clearly, he planned all of that, surely someone else knew, right?
