While I agree with this, I also agree with the fact that if he's going to do something that his community will find divisive, it's kind of wrong of him to do that in the first place. It was wrong of him to put his business partners in a situation like that, and it was wrong of them to not stand by their friend.

Once they were placed there by him, they couldn't help but alienate some of their audience, no matter what they did, which is exactly what happened.

Social justice is like War Games. The only way to win is to not play at all.

The good news for Colin is that he found no issue in continuing to make a living off video content. He's now a you tuber who separates politics and gaming content across two channels, and his patreon does quite well.

IIRC that hashtag/event calls for women to not go to work to demonstrate their impact. In one of the interviews Colin did afterward (maybe Joe Rogan) he says that his gf still went to work after laughing at his tweet (she is an ER nurse). So, in short his gf is a badass who doesn't got offended by little jokes and actually does an important job, and all of the people who got angry about that joke are probably the ones who spend their whole day on the internet writing about how videogames need less white people or something.

People need to stop fucking apologizing everytime someone, somewhere is fucking upset about something. The furthest you should stretch an apology in such cases is to "I'm sorry you're such a fucking tool".

I've fucked up a lot, but I learn from the fuck ups, and it's made me the person I am today, and I like that guy.

This Camilla story is another example of all that. I'm not proud when I talk about it; I'm ashamed of it and wish it had never happened. It's influenced choices I make on camera to this day, and hopefully me talking about what a stupid, insensitive choice it was stops someone else from making a similar stupid, insensitive choice.

Think would be great if Era added a sub link to the past infractions. Like a click a link and see all posts meriting an infraction. Would be a great feature on any forum (GAF as well). Just super transparent and easy. Removes any doubt.

Don't know if guy was trolling or not but presumably the past infractions would make it probably obvious he was.
