I just went through the Kind Of funny dogpile thread. I literally felt physically nauseous, I don't know why I do it to myself. It's almost unbelievable. Is it genuine? Is it high level trolling? Is it a manifestation of autism?

Bend the knee NOW and let it be a lesson to all those that stray from the group think. When will normal people 'cancel' this abomination of society.

I'd rather believe that some bans are just trolling by the mods. The other day I came across a user that got banned for 1 week for implying that China has rampant piracy...

How easy would it be to say something like, we stand by our colleague and his right to utilise his brand of humour. While some may not enjoy certain jokes, it is no reason to chastise those that do.

Put a goddam stop to the insanity. Each and every time outrage over nothing comes about, refute it, condemn it and move on. Stop giving power to the intolerant.

Outrage is their hobby it seems. It certainly felt like that when they were here. They want to be unhappy, upset, pissed off. You could say they have outrage addiction.

So while the URL may say reset, rereset, 3rdset, or 4thset, the mindset want change until they mature. And the likelihood is that when an individual does mature, they will leave and be replace with another immature white guy who is pretending to be an oppressed black man.

A complete and utter collapse of the entire community isn't happening, but a collapse of the url would absolutely do major damage to their numbers. Those who don't want to make the jump to a hypothetical new site, those who don't see whatever controversy brings it down as a big deal, those who are unenthused to do this whole song and dance again after feeling they were betrayed once already, those who gain some sense of self-awareness after seeing how much the rest of the gaming community hates them, etc.

I'd say any new site would cap out at maybe 15-20k registered users with maybe 300-500 of them active. The illusion of influence would largely be gone as I don't see many devs posting there after already getting burned, though some journalists may follow the inmates there. This new place also has the possibility of being even worse than Era in terms of purity testing and whatnot, meaning a large percentage of the userbase isn't surviving past the first year if that.

Honestly, I'd say if another collapse happened, people should just stay in their own communities on Discord. It would be clear a big forum with such strict and sometimes hypocritical guidelines isn't working out.
