Notice in the video where I lose that Xiao Hai repeatedly walks back and forth until he gets in? That's from a player who's well experienced with that iteration, knows which buttons to press in what situation and how to approach and get in to the correct range before maximizing an opportunity. This is in a serious setting where winning actually matters quite a bit from a game that people have studied and learned how to correctly approach numerous situations.
Conversely you linked an awful cammy who abuses specials and got perfected for it in a game that isn't figured out yet in a casual online setting.
If you think that's how you're supposed to play street fighter then I'm thinking you just don't know how

I feel like this is some kind of old meme I've missed this whole time. I see it often, when some folks insinuate boobs and ass in games are specifically for "teenage boys". Coming from myself who's 27 and married with a child; digital T&A are still fairly nice to look at lol.
I mean, there aren't a whole ton of games out there that do such things as actual mechanics.
Almost every video game dresses their women up this way with very little alternative.

That Catsuit alt was a what-if? call back to her subplot in Alpha 3 when Bison made all of the dolls wear cat suits. If you remember her ending in that game, she has to go to a psychologist to get over the trauma of having to wear pants over and over again.
I believe the skate punk costume is a similar situation from the Udon comics during the "Return of the Dolls" arc.

Cammy is actually wearing more than usual in her alt. I don't see what the problem is. Laura's outfit isn't all that outlandish. I'd put some booty shorts on her though rather than just the bikini bottom personally, but that's just my style. She dresses like a typical girl going on vacation.

You're ignoring the most important part though. You asked if I've seen Cammy in action, watch the xiaohai video where he beats me. You'll see lots of walking back and forth until an opportunity arises. This is key to high level street fighter in every game ever released. Spacing out your opponent to get a feel for them and the distances they like etc.

That's fine, but a lot of people think it looks stupid. Compare Sonya Blade's outfits from the MK series from MK9 to MKX. This is a character that is supposed to belong to a military organization, but in MK9 she just looks like someone who bought a "Sexy Army Girl" outfit from her local Halloween store and decided to wear it in fights. In MKX however she actually looks like a person the designers respected enough to make her design fit her character, and I think most would agree that her clothing looks way better as a result.
I don't know, when I look at Cammy wearing the same dumb outfit, making the same lame poses after winning a round, I don't see sexy, I see sweaty middle aged guys in an office creating their own masturbatory material. It just ends up feeling sleazy and kinda silly at the same time. I get that this is how a lot of guys who play these games get their rocks off, but it isn't my bag.
For what it's worth, I also think Urien's outfit (if you could call it that) looks stupid too and would much rather he keep his suit on for fights, so please, save the double standard replies if you're thinking of them.

They barely changed Shaheen based on feedback. This was my feedback as a Saudi regarding authenticity (which wasn't an uncommon opinion).I mean, Namco for example asked for help from people who live in the Middle East in regards to Shaheen's character. They asked about looks, fighting styles, how people dress and fight over there. They wanted to make sure they got an accurate representation of someone in the 2010s who looks like they live in said area.

Shaheen gets points over Rashid for looking better plus having authentic headdress. Rashid gets points for being cooler plus wearing something resembling a thobe/kandoorah and not a shirt.
Also in the case of Rashid they've just asked their Middle East distributor for help, not locals.
Gulf Arabs aren't big into Sufism so I doubt it. There is a ton about the Mevlevi that informs Rashid's design, from him constantly moving in neutral (he is maintaining rhythm & continuing his 'dance', if you will) its just that you need to look a little deeper to see its meaning. Not only that, due to this inspiration, Rashid represents one of the better new designs for a potentially Muslim character, that avoids many of the stereotypical trappings that are associated with the religion currently. I'm not Arab, so I can't speak on how Arab's feel Rashid positively or negatively represents them & people from their region. However, I have to give Capcom credit with at least giving way more thought & consideration when creating a character from an underrepresented region, especially since that region has a lot of negativity built-up in its cultural mindset here in the West.
Also, on a sidenote, being Brazilian myself, Laura's alt outfit is possibly one of the best depictions of street & beach wear i've seen on women in Brazil. The only thing off about it are the shorts + thong combo. From my experience, many women in Brazil would either just be wearing a g-string, or a bikini bottom in her shorts, or just shorts - not some crazy high-riding thong + those shorts. Also, the shoes in that outfit are on point for local-wear for Brazilian women.
The Mevlevi Order is based in Turkey though while Rashid is a character from the Arabian peninsula so no they are not culturally aware if what you assume is true, unless you think the Middle East is a homogeneous region consisting of 1 culture.

I have exactly ZERO issue with someone not liking the designs. If I was a strait female I probably wouldn't be crazy about a lot of them.
But the non stop ridicule that comes in some of these threads because some guys like to look at tits and ass is getting hella old some times. Saying, hey these designs don't work for me and I don't like how sexualized they are. That's cool no issue. Its when people say stuff like "Wow only a teenage boy could ever like something like this" or try to make people feel ashamed about it I have an issue with.
I'm a very successful married man. And I like tits. Oh well.

They do seem slow and deliberate, but I think it's within reason that someone could do something very similar in a match and get a similar result.
Realistically I don't think the final version will completely end up like this and there will be alterations made to ensure that the new costume works better since these are just haphazardly slapped on by modders, but I absolutely believe that you'd see very similar movement in a real match.
