Damn Wade dropping 40 on the Pistons was damn impressive... Shaq is in so much pain... no ups for rebounds, not getting up much for his shots(except in spurts), but at least he still has good eyes and good passing ability(I believe he had a double, double last night). Knowing that he's moving slower however he needs to continue to makes sure he's not letting quicker defenders slap the ball away.

Last night's game was a huge boost for Wade's confidence.
Yup, gotta agree with you on Shaq. His presence is still big down there. Detroit is still wary of him. You an I will continue to play good fan, bad fan for the duration of this playoffs. It's been working well for us so far. :D PEACE.

Ads on uniforms considered — For the first time, NBA commissioner David Stern said he would consider on-uniform advertising.
"I don't doubt it will eventually happen, but at a price that recognizes that value," Stern said.

Top European soccer clubs get about $20 million a year for a jersey sponsorship, and Stern said NBA teams would have to get more than that annually.

Hey NBA - soon this is gonna be you!

Eh, just cause I feel like it, here are a couple of my scenarios for the top 5 picks in this year's draft:

1. Milwaukee - Andrew Bogut
2. Atlanta - Chris Paul
3. Portland - Marvin Williams
4. New Orleans - Deron Williams
5. Charlotte - Gerald Green

Second scenario:

1. Milwaukee - Marvin Williams
2. Atlanta - Andrew Bogut
3. Portland - Gerald Green
4. New Orleans - Chris Paul
5. Charlotte - Deron Williams/Raymond Felton

Third scenario:

1. Milwaukee - Marvin Williams
2. Charlotte (from ATL) - Chris Paul
3. Portland - Andrew Bogut
4. New Orleans - Gerald Green
5. Atlanta (from CHA) - Deron Williams

Charlotte sends picks #5, #13 to Atlanta for pick #2

Considering we traded 4 and a second for 2 last year, we should be able to trade 5 and 13 for 2 and a player. That said, I don't think Paul is any guarantee and think we should stay put.

As much as I would've liked to get a top 3 pick, I'm kind of hoping Gerald Green will be available with the #5 pick. I say we take him and a proven college player at #13. I think Paul will be questioned because of his height, but to me I think there's no doubt that he'll succeed.

edit: The more and more I think about it though, if we don't deal, I really wouldn't mind Ray Felton at 5 and Martell Webster/Danny Granger at #13...

Atlanta's GM has said that he sees this as a 2 player draft: Bogut and Williams. Considering the #2 pick ensures them of one of those guys, i don't see them moving down.

Undercover Officer Shaq Is on Patrol

MIAMI - He's Shaquille O'Neal, basketball star and undercover officer.

The 7-foot-1, 325-pound Miami Heat center, who has a fascination with law enforcement, was recently sworn in as a U.S. deputy marshal. He spent six hours on a Saturday afternoon with Miami Beach police investigators helping with cases.

O'Neal has joined a
Department of Justice task force that tracks down sexual predators who target children on the Internet.

He is becoming familiar with the techniques and software that officers use to track down the predators, said Miami Beach Police Chief Don De Lucca. And he spends countless hours on his home computer, logging into the police network and learning the ropes.

"I put a lot into it, and when I am done playing, I plan on going undercover and then being the sheriff or chief of police somewhere, either Miami or Orlando, I don't know yet," O'Neal said recently.

After being traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to Miami, O'Neal contacted Miami Beach police about becoming a reserve officer. He drops by the department regularly for one-on-one instruction, speaks to De Lucca at least once a week, and is a few training hours shy of being certified to make arrests, conduct search warrants and carry a .40-caliber pistol.

"Everyone knows the love I have for the people who defend the streets and the people who defend our country, the armed forces, the Army, Navy, Marines. I want to do something like that, help the community," O'Neal said. "I want to really learn the business."

O'Neal has been interested in law enforcement since he was a teen. He was raised by a stepfather who was an Army sergeant. Two of his uncles worked in law enforcement.

While playing for the Lakers, he went through the police academy and became a reserve officer with the Los Angeles Port Police.

During the 2000 offseason, he rode along with the Orange County Sheriff's Office in Florida. They recovered three stolen cars and made a handful of arrests.

"Shaq's interest in police work is very real," De Lucca said. "He'd be a great undercover guy.

"Obviously, we're not going to send him out to buy dope, but he can do surveillance, he can do Internet crimes. He has an incredible thirst for information, he's street-smart, and he's a communicator and leader. I just hope it's not my job he comes after, or I'm in trouble."

Phil Jackson should coach for the Mavs. Phil made sure everyone showed up when it was game time. Dallas has the personel, but need better coaching.

At least the suns played a little bit of defense in the 4th this time. The return of Joe Johnson and the fact that Marion was sitting his lame ass on the bench during crunch time made a difference. Just not enough to win the game.

marion is a fucking idiot. i've seen him (at times) guarding various players, and he will start running back to his end of the court before the shot even goes in! i know you like to run if you're the suns, but secure the ball first and then worry about offense.

i feel bad for the suns cause the series could "feasibly" be 2-1 or MAYBE even 1-2 in their favor. but, cliche as it may sound, the spurs have just made that handfull of plays each game that it takes to win.

laugh now but i wouldn't count out the suns completely. i know it is a 1 in a million shot, but i think if they can just make a few more plays per game they can win a few games, and then who knows what can happen if you get into game 6 and 7.

The Suns would have to win 2 games in San Antonio. That isn't going to happen.

Wait, so the latest reports are that Cleveland is going to give their coaching job to Mike freaking Brown while give their basketball operations to Larry "don't let him be your GM too!" Brown??? They are ruining Lebron's career right before our very eyes.

That'd be true if he was locked into a seven year deal. As it is, he'll be flying off to another destination within a year. It's just a question of where...I still don't see New York happening, unless Nike increases his deal for him to do so by another 70 mill.

May 26, 2005 — Michael Jordan's lawsuit accusing a former lover of attempted extortion, and the woman's counterclaim that he reneged on a promise to pay her $5 million in hush money are both headed back to court.

The Illinois Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to hear Jordan's appeal of a ruling allowing the woman's breach of contract claim to go forward.

That means both lawsuits now go back to Cook County Circuit Court.

Karla Knafel says in her lawsuit that she became pregnant in 1991 and thought the baby was Jordan's. When she told him, the lawsuit contends, the former NBA star agreed to pay her $5 million to keep quiet about the affair.

Jordan denied ever agreeing to pay $5 million and sued Knafel in 2002, alleging attempted extortion. In court documents, he contended that Knafel threatened to publicize their affair and had agreed to a $250,000 payment after paternity tests showed the child was not his.

The Cook Count Circuit Court threw out Knafel's counterclaim in 2003, but the Illinois Court of Appeals reversed that decision, saying Knafel had presented sufficient facts to pursue her case in court. The Illinois Supreme Court let that ruling stand Wednesday.

"We want to take (Jordan's) deposition, and hopefully we'll have a jury trial soon," said Blake Hannafan, Knafel's attorney.

Jordan attorney Fred Sperling said he expects his client to be "fully vindicated." He has argued in court filings that DNA tests showed Jordan is not the father of Knafel's child.

Then WHO is the father?!

Well, if you're talking free agency (no way he is traded), we are talking two years (the Cavs have a team option on the fourth of his contract). But as you said, where could he go? New York is probably the worst place considering their roster status.

:lol Where the hell do you guys keep finding these pics...

I was thinking about where Bron would go as a free agent, and I really don't know. Maybe Chicago? The LA teams are write offs...can't see him sharing the bill with Kobe, and the Clippers franchise make the Cavs look good. The mind trembles at the thought of him playing alongside KG, but I'm not sure if that could be done. I really don't know...maybe he just signs a three year deal like Duncan did, and sees how things go in Clevland. They've still got some good pieces there.
