Shaq will not be in the finals (they can't beat Detroit) and Wade is the man on the Heat. Just like how Kobe would carry them through the West, then Shaq dominates some East team with no big and gets ALL the credit :lol

They split their series with Detroit of 4 games they won one at home and one at Detroit... and don't they they have homecourt advantage all the way through the playoffs? I think it's a bit early to say they CAN'T beat Detroit.

And as for Shaq getting all the credit... did you read any of the coverage of the game? Shaq got credit for drawing pressure while on the floor... Wade and Jones and Mourning and Christian from the bench got credit for the win.

LOL! Choke a dope works again. How to beat the Spurs:

Step 1: Wait for them to choke.
Step 2: You think there's another step?

IIRC they only played 3 times and Big Ben didn't play in one game at Detroit which the Pistons won anyways.

Hell, the Lakers also split the series with Detroit last year :lol Barring injuries, Detroit will kick Miami's ass with ease....

You recall badly:

Oct 16 vs Detroit W 83-74
O'Neal doesn't play - strained his left hamstring

Nov 26 at Detroit L 77-78
Wallace doesn't play but Detroit smothers Heat with great defense

Dec 30 at Detroit W 89-78
Everybody played, Wade had a triple double against Pistons

Apr 10 vs Detroit L 72-80
Shaq on the bench, Wade with a terrible game and Miami shot BADLY from the free throw line

You're counting a preseason game? :lol

Sure, it's still a look at what the two teams will begin to look like when they face each other.

I notice you still haven't commented on this game:

Dec 30 at Detroit W 89-78
Everybody played, Wade had a triple double against Pistons

And as for the last game I can use the same excuse you did for Ben... Shaq didn't play.

So that leaves one game where everybody played... and Wade went off on them.

Yeah it's a solid bet that the Pistons have this locked... not.

Lakers were 6-2 in preseason and we all know how that ended. Preseason means nothing :lol

I watched that game and the Pistons dominated them for 3 quarters and fell apart in the 4th. It won't happen in the playoffs :D

The Pistons take some type of magic non-collapse pill? or you just hoping against hope to not see Shaq make it to the Finals... tell the truth now.

And that'll be the kiss o' death for the Pistons. We should start taking you to Vegas.

I can't wait to see what happens if Miami gets to the Finals and wins-- it will represent the dashing of the collective hopes of Fakers (read: Kobe) fans everywhere. I'm hoping that they do it just for this reason, so I can gleefully say, "KONEX AM CRYING!", and "PISTON AM CRYING!" Fans feasting on sour grapes need to have their comeuppance. :D

Why wouldn't you want San An or Detroit to win it? Still bitter over how they thumped you guys in past Finals? TSC TSC. Bitterness and sour grapes seems to be the defining feature of Faker fans. :D ;)

because i don't want the Spurs to get a 3rd ring, for obvious reasons (nothing wrong with that is there?) As for the Pistons, despite them assraping us in the Finals last year, i don't really have anything against them, i just like the Heat more and find them more enjoyable. Plus, we can't have Darko get 2 rings before Lebron or Wade even have one!

Why, yes-- it's called bitterness. :D Let that purple and gold shine through, Piston! ;) :p

I find the Pistons more enjoyable to watch as a team, actually (since they play more team-oriented ball), though watching Wade in particular do his thing is more fun than watching the Heat. :D

konex answer this:

ONLY replace kobe and shaq. put shaq on the lakers roster right now, put kobe on the heat roster. would the lakers still be a non-playoff team? no, they would most certainly be in the playoffs. infact, they'd probably be top 4.

now put kobe on the heat. are the heat still the #1 seed? fuck no. they are bottom half of the east AT BEST. i will agree with you that dwayne wade is better than kobe, but kobe is highly overrated and should be considered the cornerstone of who to build a franchise around. he needs help and lots of it to be competitive. that was proven this year. shaq has made guys like udonis haslem, christian laettner and daemon jones into clutch players

stop encouraging Konex. Of course they'd be a better team cause its easier to complement a player like Shaq than it is Kobe, but i disagree that Kobe is overrated and can't be the cornerstone of a franchise. ALL players need lots of help to be competitive. thats why good teams are good TEAMS. Shaq has always had a dynamic sidekick and sure he makes life easier for them, but Penny (well, he was), Kobe and Wade are all great players in their own right. I still say trading Shaq was the right decision for this franchise.

This man speaks the truth. Kobe and the Lakers organization believed the hype that Kobe was the next Jordan. Now they are left watching the playoffs at home.

Dsal

it's going to come out of you and it's going to taste so good
Had a lot of fun watching the games this weekend. This year's playoffs are gonna be great.

Chicago is for real.
Game 2 of the Spurs/Nugs series... it will be very interesting to see how the Spurs respond.
The Suns play with pure basketball joy.

Not so fast, bionic. You lost our bet about Kobe's FG%, so you're gonna have to put that avatar back for a bit. That is, if you want to remain a man of your word. :D

Payton was really digging in defensively against Jones to stop the play being ran, but Miller came up big as usual. Nice.

Paul Pierce is a very clutch player but he always misses crucial freethrows for some reason. Too bad he's the goat if they lose this even after such a great game...
