Sexiest Frontcourt in the galaxy. Props to Pau for the ring, he's a tremendous player.

I'm looking for a repeat next year. The biggest for sure threat next year are probably the Rockets. The Cavs aren't guaranteed to get by anyone with that front court, and the Magic still have a key signing to make in Turk. The Celtics are a great team but if E.House and Davis find a way off of that squad then there is no way they beat a hungry D12 or a down right raged LBJ.

The Rockets will still have Brooks who will continue to eat Fish alive unless Shannon manages to improve drastically, and the thought of a healthy T-Mac, Shane, Ron, and Yao...well fuck.

We'll find a way to keep Ariza and LO. There have just been so many points during these playoffs where we just flat out wouldn't have survived without either of them. I've been saying that LO is more important because with the way Drew's been playing on D lately...shit. But Trevors defense, hustle, and shooting have given us the edge we need. And props to fucking Luke who actually helped to run the offense for our bench. I can't remember many times during this run that Luke let us down.

Buss is just going to have to empty his pockets.

I suppose if Wade wins MVP, Beasley wins MVP, Daequan Cook leads the league in 3 pt % and 6th man of the year, and our starting five is all-defense, we have a chance to be a contender!

I don't see Yao or T-Mac ever be healthy at the same time for a long period.

During a contract year I can see T-Mac somehow miraculously being healthy for around 70 games + playoffs.

Yao? Well...there's always the rest him on back 2 backs bullshit.

I think the Paul Westphal as Kings coach talk got skipped over during playoff chatter. Considering the options, he was one of the better choices. All better choices were not possible due to the Maloofs not wanting to pay much for a coach.

As for the draft, the Kings are sort of at the mercy of everyone else. It depends on who is available or leftover and who wants to trade. The fourth pick could be turned into anyone at this point.

Well fucking done Lakers! They proved beyond any doubt, that they are the best team in the NBA. These world champions deserve more credit than they've been given thus far or will receive in the coming days.

I'm already looking forward to next season when we'll take on the challenge of defending our title. Pau, Lamar and Ariza make up a great supporting cast for Bryant and I couldn't be any happier with them. They've now taken that next step and know what it's like to be champions. There's no way they'll take a step back after this... and if promising guys like Shannon and Andrew continue to work hard and improve, there is no doubt in my mind that we can make it back to the finals and even repeat.

As for Kobe:

Kobe just cemented his legacy as one of the all time greats, no matter what any detractor might say.

He has the stats, the resume, the moments, the longevity, the skill, the talent, the hardware, the team selections, everything. Only a fool would deny this. Everything from here on out is just icing on the cake. Thanks for the greatest of memories Kobe. I hope the remainder of your career is filled with nothing but highs.

We need to make Ray Allen happen. DO IT MJ

Jesus, why go after guys who are old and spotty? T-mac and Ray Allen? Ill give you that Ray Allen is a great shooter, but when he is off it isn't pretty (as was seen in the Magic series). Him and Pierce could not get it going at the same time. Chemistry Killer!!

Why not go after turkeyglue?
Crash > Hedo.

We need a straight up 2 with the ability to score off-ball OR a straight up all-star scorer.

Who the fuck is Crash?.... Oh lol what a stupid nickname.
Crash is a nickname earned.

And Tmac's got another good year left in him, thats all we need... just one good year of vet play at the 2. Then we can move on, riding the momentum of a 66 win season.

lol wtf phil, this should be the new mandatory ALL OVER MY FACE pic

Tracy isn't even scheduled to be back until after the All-Star game...at the earliest.

Doesn't matter anyways, I doubt he'll be with the Rox organization by the time that part of the season comes around...

wtf... wtf did you DO to him!?

He had surgery this past February and the recovery time is 6-12 months.

Don't know about you but knowing how he handled his rehab with his last injury im saying 12 months which is around the time of the All-star game.

Then again him witnessing his team get out of the first round w/o him fuels (not to mention it's a contract year) him to work harder than he ever has. I hear through my sources that he indeed is working extremely hard in his rehab which if true I'd place him on the court in mid-Nov - December.

Just enough time for him to play before the trade deadline...

or be a bum and wait until after the deadline to come back so he can't get traded

So Knicks-Age, who do you want in the draft?

If he's still on the board, Curry no question, but I just don't see him staying there till 8. If he's(Curry) off the board, I like Jrue Holiday. Brandon Jennings just reminds me of Marbury 2.0 with his recent comments about Rubio, and he is just banking on some "mystique" because of his play in Europe (which apparently wasn't that good). Other potential picks I could see are Jonny Flynn and Demar DeRozan.

Just got back from work, watched the last few minutes of game there. Congrats to the Laker fans here. Only wish you had a better opponent or played us to win the title, Magic are just god awful to watch play. Team should be good for years to come unless horrible business practices happen. I hope they dump off Sasha and put the money towards Odom for deal.

Now to the moran section of Laker fans on the radio calling in saying "Celtics couldn't make it back without Garnett".....not really using your brains on that one. Kobe goes down and the same happens to you. Common sense.

Good Truehoop article here

This bit caught my attention (God Knows why)

Pau Gasol, however, is series MVP 1a. Not only was he extraordinarily efficient with the ball all series, but he also evolved to be nearly masterful on defense. For much of the decisive Game 5 the Magic simply couldn't finish around or over him -- even as he single-covered Dwight Howard much of the night. ESPN Stats and Information charted Gasol single-covering Howard on 38 possessions -- and Howard did not score from the field on any of them.

awww

Once again, Kobe Bryant rides a great big man's coattails to a ring and takes all the credit. Can't say I am surprised. Whatever, someone had to win a ring in The Year Where Every Team But The Lakers and Cavs Are Injured.

Oooh, offseason thread, does that mean I can post regularly again? Or do the lifelongs need one more go around the parade before they get bored?

Microfracture at T-Mac's age and with his history of injury I don't see him playing at a high level any more. Yao might have a chance to be healthy given that he doesn't need to play this off-season for a change.

Oh how cute, a Ginobli fan talking about someone riding another player's coattails.

Ginobli is the Euro-Tmac

Ginobili is the second winningest player of all time, only trailing Larry Bird. T-Mac has yet to get out of the first round.

I fail to see the comparison.

Even David Robinson had to ride the coattails of a great big man, no shame in that..

I can't see how you can love Matt Bonner as much as Tim Duncan.
