The Kobe I know would be scowling and chewing wads of gum that consisted of no less than three packs of Big League Chew.

I'd congratulate the Lakers, but there's nobody on that team that I'd ever actually want to congratulate...Kobe least of all. I'll just congratulate Memphis instead, they earned it.

Nah man, its my name. I'm a Spurs fan, you're a Kings fan. I win, you lose. Its the natural order of things.
Spurs are dropping while Kings already hit rock bottom, their time will come damnit.

:(

The time will come when the Kings will be superior again! ...maybe another 10 years tho...

Damnit! Just found out the Lakers closed them out last night. If the Magic had just lasted one more game I could have actually watched it. I'm pissed.

Twaded? Aw, you're cute.

And can't one of you spell Ginobili right? I wouldn't say anything but thats like the 4th person in a row. Not hard

Wow wtf, it IS Ginobili. I always thought THAT was the typo. -_-v

Most people mess it up because they mispronounce it Gin-oh-blee like every announcer for the past 7 years. His name is actually pronounced Gin-oh-buh-lee.

The only teams I fear are the ones in the western conference. We can beat anyone from the east in a 7 game series so I'm not going to concern my self with them at this point.

I'm gonna have my eye on:

Houston- If this team manages to stay healthy(lolololololol) they could be a real force. They definitely gave the Lakers their toughest battle.

Spurs- Same with Houston, if they can stay healthy(LOL) they will be a formidable foe.

Nuggets- If their couch didn't suck so much ass they would have probably been just as tough as Houston. Could be our new "rivals"

Portland, Mavs, Phoenix... meh I see no reason to fear these guys. Portland wont make it out of the first round, the Mavs will choke to whomever they play against, Phoenix probably wont even have Shaq next season... these teams are a non-factor.

If the Lakers stay healthy, get back Ariza/Odom/Phil, they will repeat. Absolutely no doubt in my mind whatsoever.

Welcome the new Dynasty.

I think it's safe to say that the Eastern conference is still the Leastern conference.

The Magic took out both Boston and Cleveland yet the Lakers dismantled Orlando with relative ease. I think going into the playoffs the top 4 seeds in the West were underrated and the top 3-4 seeds in the East were overrated.

But I think that it probably helped that the Lakers didn't have the best record going into the playoffs. Instead all the high expectations and hype fell on the Cavs.

Yet even doing the Lakers playoff struggles in the early rounds, they were never down in the series. They always won the games they needed to win. It seems they really hit their stride in the Denver series and never looked back. The Rockets and Nuggets can take some satisfaction that they lost to the eventually champions.

Anyway, nice playoff run Lakers. More importantly though all the Lebron GOAT talk has quietly dissipated. All his stats and hijinks over the season might absolutely squat because Kobe has the championship ring to go along with the Gold medal he won last year. Shaq is Lebron's only hope to get a ring next year. But I bet those two massive egos will cause an explosion that will make Ohio inhabitable for 5 million years.

Well it's time for me to find a new avatar.

"I have now hit the win button. Knicks will be champs in 20 motherfuckin' 11."

what the fuck is that???????

Really feel sorry for the Magic. That Laker team had too many weapons for them to handle, but they did an admirable job, even though the series went 4-1.

They will be back next year though, hungry.

Championship rings mean nothing. Adam Morrison has a ring. Is he better than Lebron?

Man I hope someone makes an epic deal so that Lakers-age can cry when they get bounced in the 2010 playoffs. Then hopefully Pau will be exposed for what he is.

As TCO is to Lebron, I am to Gasol. Gasol is an overglorified role player and the fact that he, along with Vujacic, won a championship is despicable. And BSPN saying that he plays great defense is despicable. The guy is often lost on help defense, which is why good PGs abuse them at will.

I don't mind KB24 or Lamar Odom getting a ring. I do mind Charmin though.

so is dwight howard the most overrated player in the league? 11 points in an elimination game in the FINALS?

Eh, his hype will die down once this Orlando team is broken up.

There are so many questions this offseason that I don't know what the makeup of the league will be next season. Predicting records or playoff successes seems foolish to me. All I can say is that some teams look to be going up or going down. A quick trade can change all that though. And with the lux tax what it is, I don't know what to expect.

Mavs off-season wish list:

1)resign Kidd, Bass, Singleton, Hollins

2)trade Stackhouse and filler for a talented swingman, along the lines of Richard Jefferson

3)trade Dampier and filler for a better center, along the lines of Chris Kaman

4)Sign Marcin Gortat with the MLE

Real Talk:

Dirk is a better playoff performer than Kobe. Unfortunately, Dirk never played with Shaq or Phil Jackson

I agree but its not like Dirk is Mr. Clutch either. Remember, Dirk's greatest playoff highlight is a mistake. He went for the dunk when his team was down 3 in the 4th. Now, he got lucky cause Manu was stupid and fouled, but regardless, Dirk fucked up.

Never seen a role player shut down a franchise player quite like Gasolid did. :lol

Now take a bite, hater.

smurfx's post from the finals thread, thought you'll who missed it will enjoy it

god dammit this was my least enjoyed lakers championship. i always had various stupid OCD things i do for the playoffs and some include crossing either my right leg or my left leg. if the lakers are losing i switch and also not letting either my left foot or my right foot touch the ground. the last two times the lakers went to the finals i watched without any of my OCD rituals and they lost. i said screw it this year and started up again. this year my OCD ritual was not watching the games and Rooting against the lakers. now that the lakers won the championship i am kicking myself for not watching the games. i know that my watching the games won't affect the outcome of games but i could not bare to watch knowing that i might jinx them. the reason why i started not watching games is because this year in several close games i turned off the tv and when i would turn it on after the game was over the lakers would of won. during the playoffs my cousin all of a sudden became an all time lakers fan and since the lakers were struggling a little with the jazz i told her the lakers would lose the series. the lakers kept winning and i kept this ritual. eventually the whole playoffs passed and i rooted against the lakers and they kept winning. oh well at least i can catch the replay of the game over at espn360.com.

I think there were about 20-30 seconds left at that point. no need to take a 3 when the dunk was there

The Ostrich-Rat hybrid can suck it. I could blow on him and that ****er would fall down on defense.

Oberto could play better defense on Howard than that idiot.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- "Don't go anywhere." Want to know why Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson sat there on the Magic bench, blank expressions adorning their faces, after that final buzzer? Why Superman and one of his All-Star sidekicks stuck around as the championship trophy podium was hastily assembled and the Lakers stood victorious atop it? Because that was what Howard wanted, and he wanted Nelson to witness, feel and share every raw, painful emotion that was tearing him apart inside.

Playoffs are over. Don't you have another self-imposed exile to attend to?
