yeah, the genesis emulator sound seems pretty accurate, so anything you are hearing that you don't like is probably coming from the game itself. 8-bit PCM audio FTL.

Reader Callum sent in a snippet from gaming mag GamesTM that concerns the Virtual Console. He took a pic, and transcribed the bit of text as well
Something big is coming to the Virtual Console, something that, for the past decade, certain corners of the retro community have been crying out for. I wish I could say more, but the uncertainties of publishing schedules prevents me from spilling the beans too early. Nevertheless, if what weve heard turns out to be true, the virtual console is about to become a lot more interesting and looks like it might turn out to be much more valuable to dedicated retro gamers than we first thought.

I think this is the most likely answer. I wouldn't be disappointed if it was, but I'm hoping to be suprised.meppi said:I'd guess S&P.![]()

That would actually make a lot of sense. I'd buy it.Dragona Akehi said:Rondo of Blood, biznatches.

With the exception of Chrono Trigger, I'd say the Castlevania series has JUST as much of a following as Earthbound or NiGHTS.threeball said:It doesn't have that big of a fan following though, no where near the likes of Earthbound, Chrono Trigger or NiGHTS.
Rondo of Blood wouldn't be exactly a big deal either like that quote says

Rondo of Blood wouldn't be exactly a big deal either like that quote says, Castlevania is a niche series

You... you're serious?
*shudder*
threeball said:Castlevania is still a series that is alive.
Earthbound, NiGHTS and Chrono Trigger are dead series.
I think a dead series that is ressurected would be a bigger deal than a Castlevania game.
This particular Castlevania game is considered one of the best (if not THE best by some) Castlevania games ever made. It was the first to feature branching level design. It's pretty badass, and it's never been released in the United States (or Europe to my knowledge). People have been clamoring for this game for years.threeball said:Castlevania is still a series that is alive.

I think we've already been stretched enough as far as Mother 3 is concerned. :/brandonh83 said:Mother 3 (a little stretching)

You post on GAF and haven't heard of Rondo of Blood? Maybe you've heard of it as Dracula X or Akumajou Dracula X?mrkgoo said:Rondo of Blood? I've at least heard of Earthbound, NiGhts and Chronotrigger.
I actually bought a US copy of Earthbound (complete with scratch and sniff guide), but it didn't work through my action replay. So I returned it and got Illusion of Time/Gaia.
Good call. My mistake. Although Rondo's took branching level design to a whole new erm... level.Pimpbaa said:Nope, Castlevania 3 was the first to have branching level design.
