the necessary stuff to get the track editor available is very little. just some kbs to store track coordinates since the menus themselves are apparently inside the FZX rom. the car editor's car models are already in the FZX rom also (this was found by someone who hacked the FZX rom to make tracks without the EK. in this game, tracks are stored as simple coordinate lists and take very little space overall)
the most likely reason the EK features weren't included within FZX was that they were saving it to have something available for 64DD but the game came out at a time where they thought they would still release the thing. a real shame overall since everything the EK does is possible on an N64 cart (except for the music and ghost storage)

Man if SB64 doesn't hit I'll be disappointed, I really wanted to play that again just for nostalgia (my N64 and games was left at my parents)... releasing it any other time wont make sense!
And now that I've been anticipating it whatever we do end up getting if its not SB64 I wont be able to help feeling disappointed.
Until I get my hands on Brawl that is.

I'm actually really surprised there isn't an udpate yet. Not that I personally care though...I tend to buy VC games and play them for a week...then put them on the virtual shelf. At least they aren't taking up space like my 90 SNES carts.
