Official bitching about Hudson abandoning VC support. [VC/WiiWare = lost cause]

Look at it from a marketing perspective. Wii owners each have a finite number of gaming hours. Why allow a bunch of those hours to be taken up by an $8 downloaded RPG title when that time could be filled with play on a more profitable $50 retail title instead? A lower price point is fine for bite-sized chunks of gameplay that VC titles thus far offer, but profits could be maximized through new games by holding back classic RPGs.

Not that I condone it, of course. *coughsquareenixcough*

This makes sense but then it also seems like the gamer who is waiting for Ys will probably buy a lot of games either way. Something a little more mainstream like a Mario RPG I can see stealing sales from other releases.

Neo Turf Masters is an awesome golf game. Very expensive if you buy the original Neo home cart.

The PSP port on SNK Classics will do it for me though.

Dunno why, but Megaman VC is more enjoyable to me then playing it off the anniversary collection. Maybe it's because it's more accurate to playing it on a NES. Plus save state functionality for wily stages, i guess.

Yes, and the image should be clearer too.

Welcome to "original resolution" + top notch emu.

So I'm curious. Has anyone played The Last Ninja on VC who has never played the game before? What were your thoughts? I'd be interested to know how people think it holds up. Because at the time of its release, it was a technical break through and gaming revelation.

Hey, something I just noticed on the Nintendo Channel.

Under "New Games", it has Ghouls 'n Ghosts (Sega Genesis) for the Wii scheduled for what I -thought- was 8/27/08... perhaps it said 8/25, but I thought it read 27.

Either way, does that mean we know one VC release for next week? Heh.

Hey guys, I have a question.

Is there a place I can see a list of all the VC games released thus far, broken down by platform?

Rather than wait for each page to load on the Wii Shop Channel, I'd rather have a print out of the whole thing so I can highlight the ones I'm interested in and download at my leisure.

Someone already asked that earlier on the page.

TURF MASTERS YESSSSSSSSSSSSS

I can't wait to download this when I get home. I was severely disappointed with the Neo Geo collection for PlayStation 2 and its awful lag input (using original PS2 hardware, tube TV so it wasn't a problem with my hardware). Please tell me this is playable?

I have played the game before (and loved it), but I haven't downloaded it on VC because I find the C64 games there (that I've tried) plays awfully with the Wiimote or the Classic Controller.

Yup, I got 1 and 2 for the first time on VC. 1 is pretty good, but extremely unforgiving. 2 is fantastic though.

So, since I had my infuriatingly too close of an encounter with the sublime (NOT) 50 Hz slow as a black bordered turd version of the likes of Sonic 1 and Gunstar Heroes I swore I'd never buy a Genesis/Megadrive game again on VC.

Then, few days ago I caved in and bought Sonic 3.
Well, now it's more like it, I can settle for something like this... not perfect but still more than acceptable.

So, I'm looking for MOAR :) but I don't wanna get burned and vc.reviews doesn't say a word on how the games are handled on PAL (and that's a feature I would come to expect on a site like that but whatever..)

Can some fellow gaffer/s hook me up on the PAL VC versions of:

Sonic 2
Streets of Rage 2
Shining Force
Landstalker

And, better be safe than sorry, on PAL VC:
Super Metroid
DKC 2

Are there any Neo Geo games on the service which have received a bad PAL treatment and are there any running at 60Hz or "just" proper 50Hz?

Sonic 2 is great, just like Sonic 3, only the first one is a mess.
Super Metroid and DKC 2 are also handled well.

Thanks, I'll update my "list" then:

Interesting, so does this mean that Super Metroid is actually full speed rather than the soggy, sloppy mess of normal PAL 50hz games?

Everything I've read about Neo Geo VC says they're really bad PAL versions (forums at VC-reviews.com, Eurogamer.com), but I just saw an article http://palgn.co.uk/article.php?id=9204 which says otherwise.

I'm just wondering how accurate Palgn are though, as they say some N64 games are identical to their NTSC counterparts.

Also, what's the word on the PAL version of R Type 3 like? Is properly optimized or is another slow down fest?

I think a lot will be happy with the EU update!

First off, Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels is back and now available permanently. It's accompanied by...
Super Mario RPG
.

They both have the Hanabi Festival logo, obviously. Could mean it's just the beginning. Come on, 6 weeks in a row of import AAA titles, MAKE IT HAPPEN :lol

WTF

I own a NTSC wii in Sweden, first time I ever wished that I would have a PAL one instead:(

Common NoA give us SMRPG or Earthbound on monday.

Probably will be more imports, but they're probably not all AAA. There's enough rated to fill an entire month:

-Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa (NES)
-Dig Dug (NES)
-DoReMi Fantasy (SNES)
-Smash Ping Pong (NES)
-Spelunker (NES)
-Super Turrican 2 (SNES)

Shining Force 2
Castlevania Rondo of Blood

Right?

Well, I suppose that means the USA might get the least of the Mario RPG games this Monday, then...

Now ... for Majora's Mask!

Shining Force II was released in Europe originally, I'm pretty sure. It already has a PEGI rating for VC so it can come any moment after the Hanabi Festival is over.

Fucking Europe......

No, Europe did nothing wrong in the least.

Fucking NOA.........

That is more like it.
