I'm so happy that the alpha ended up changing everyone's opinion of this game. I feel like if that trailer were released before the alpha, everyone would be all like "eh, just another boring ol shooter" or "what's so special about this?"
Now since we all know what the game is all about, we get hyped by seeing this footage.
I always got hyped by the all the footage though because I followed info on this game religiously since the beginning so I already knew of the structure and whatnot.
I always got kinda confused when people started saying "Oh this is a game that you really have to play to get...." I mean, reading all the info that was already revealed about the game is plenty.
My account wasn't activated then, but I every time I saw a comment saying something along the lines of "There's not much info, what are we supposed to be hyped about if we don't even have any details?" I just wanted to post like, everything revealed about the game so far and overwhelm them with info that they weren't aware existed.... lol /kindarant

Has anyone else noticed the lack of Playstation gamers that use voice chat? I'm hoping Destiny will have more communication between Guardians.
Having experienced multiplayer chat on Xbox360 I'm not really that upset that PS3/PS4 gamers tend to use headsets less.

Don't worry - my space magic is working to get some decent AC going. At least we won't have to worry about such nonsense as global warming any more.
Would be disappointed if it didn't make its way in some form - especially with all the effort they are going to introducing the clan systems on bnet. Might not be at launch but hopefully soon.
Sure there is plenty of info out there but the problem is, when trying to sell it to friends before the alpha it was hard to point at a video or an article and go - this is what the game is. The alpha was very simple to get friends over and go this is destiny and play it for hours. The new e3 video with Jason Jones however is good enough now though as well to act as an point to video but it came out after the alpha so...

Once clans are established I'd hope there would be communication. If I don't like hearing someone I can mute them.
My experience in Alpha was that Gaffers generally were using headsets while in fire teams. Except for Bishoptl, gotta maintain that air of mystery.

I think the plan is to split by timezones but each time zone will have a cool name!
No one zone should have more than 150 based on what i've seen on DestinyGAF.
But that will grow as we get closer to launch.

Destiny aka myself made me buy the new wireless sony headset 2.0 - at I bet that this was the case for many more people.

I bought these. I use a chat cable and pair them with some nice headphones. The good thing about this mic is that the cable isn't too long, perfect for plugging it into the controller.
If you guys want to do the same, you'll need this, a clip on mic, and headphones of your choice. I use the Audio Technica AD900.
I played the alpha exclusively with GAFfers. Everyone I played with had mics, except 1 guy.

Would be very disappointed if people did not communicate on the PS4, especially during strikes, raids and close pvp matches. While yes, the 360 community does get TOO vocal, at least i can mute them, while the PS4 community is silent and i can't do anything to make them speak.
As i have said before - i could easily see people being booted from public raid teams if they don't have a mic/headset because it sounds like communication and teamwork are essential.

Everyone that I joined with in the alpha all used their mic's. Wasn't an issue and I don't see it being one.

I have to find the headset that came with the PS4 to use for the beta. I'm holding out for the white gold headset that comes out on Sept 9th.

Its a pretty nice headset for $99 in my opinion. I think amazon has the black one for $80 right now. Chat quality is good and audio quality isn't bad at all. I hope destiny gets its own sound mode like infamous second son did. That game sounds so good with its custom sound mode.
I can see the US and EU requiring more than one clan per console and timezone. Everywhere else, not so much.

Going to recommend these to DestinyGAF to use instead of the Sony earbud that comes with the PS4.
Personally, on my head I think these are ugly, but for $30 they plug right into the DS4 controller and they work just fine. I even recorded some of my Alpha gameplay...and my voice came through clearly.
Really good sound quality for the price. Build quality...meh..kinda get what you pay for with plastics, but they are comfortable on the head.

its called party chat, it would be nice if people left there parties and communicated more in game but ppl would much rather talk in a party chat with friends even if the friends are playing different games then talk to strangers on the game they are playing.

If I buy the Collector's edition on PS3 and in a few months I decide to upgrade to PS4, what happens to my Expansion pack? Will it be locked to the PS3?
CoD's season pass is cross-gen, so since Destiny is also by Activison, I would assume the very same.

I'd slow down with that, it was because of the cross over last year, but not sure if it is now, it is activision afterall and they want all the monies.

I personally have got the Ghost edition on PS4
and will be buying the Destiny Digital Guardian Edition for Xbox one.
Double Dip so I can play with all my guys and gals, I am hyped.
The story and Destiny's universe/lore seem pretty huge.
Not to mention we're all dead. And it's one of game element not very discussed among GAF Guardians (and others forums/sites).
Be prepared to be surprised by Bungie.

So I see the Xbone version of the Ghost edition has now sold out too on Amazon. I really do like seeing this actually limited unlike previous huge editions done for previous Bungie games.
I know, I'm constantly checking them too. ;-(

So what does DestinyGaf plan to do about the 150 player clan cap? Also I always thought DestinyGaf was one of the biggest clans, some youtubers have clans on bungie that are 7k+.
