According to the Bungie information from yesterday (7/7) they will send out an email for you to choose your platform on 7/10.

I wonder if Sony is going to let us pre download the Beta so it will be ready to go on 7/17.

On July 17th, we’ll begin emailing PlayStation players their Destiny Beta codes.

Seeing as how we get the actual Beta code on the 17th, I'm fairly sure we can't download until we redeem that code.

Due to Dunbar theory the clan cap will probably be only 150 people

So we are going to need a lot of clan names for our 'alliances' sub clans

I've finally pre-ordered Destiny.

I've read on the PSN website that they would only charge me at release day and that I could cancel my pre-order at any time, so I might as well do it. I don't know when it'll be possible to upgrade the preorder to the Digital Guardian Edition, though. It's already up on the US PSN but not on the EU version.

Even though the EU prices are ridiculous I won't pre-order in the US because I'm afraid this might cause problems with the servers and my (EU) PS Plus subscription. Might as well spend more and save myself the trouble.

It's kinda hard to communicate by typing text messages from the PS4 interface, while doing a difficult Strike mission. If you're serious about playing Destiny in the long run, you want to buy a headset. That's what I'm gonna do, at least.

If you can find a good sale for a headset you want, buy now. Otherwise, wait until September since you'll have more time to find one for a good price. The beta isn't that long, so you can use the cheap headset that's bundled with the PS4.

US PS Store charges immediately but the EU PS Store charges a few days before release.

Depends on if you like to chat with people or not. I played the alpha and only used it a couple times when I was playing with people from GAF. When I was with strangers I didn't use it and we were still able to get through the strike. So depends on how coordinated you want to be I guess.

You'll have to wait for some of our EU Alpha players to know how it affected them but it's worth noting that for the Beta it appears they're seperating people by Region. For the Beta specifically, people can choose their Region but it's unknown how that's going to work come Launch.

I'm in New Zealand and I played with my mate from Canada for a strike or two. It was fine.

Debating between getting the full game at midnight or waiting until the Ghost edition is delivered around 5pm the same day. There's no guarantee that it wont be sold out by the time I get around to pre-ordering it at my local Gamestop. There's also no guarantee it'll arrive at 5pm either (even though Amazon is generally good with timing), but at least it's already been reserved.

Decisions, decisions. As long as it's launch day, I'm cool, but I'd be losing that 10 hour midnight marathon.

I'm usually with you on that. But think this is gonna be the first game I go digital >_< digital guardian version seems like it comes with the expansion pack and the preload of the game is huge for me.
