Yes he is a Christ like figure that travels a post apocalyptic wasteland. He lays hands on the righteous and heals them of their ailments and the wicked explode in a shower of blood at his touch.

That character is Kenshiro, from the anime Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star). He's basically a super badass who knows a special martial art style that allows him to wreck dudes easily. He'll fight someone, then when his enemy taunts him, Kenshiro will say "You are already dead." The enemy will express disbelief at that statement then fucking die. Because Kenshiro is that good.

For the clan thing, find members who are in the same time zone as you.

Maybe. But perhaps they lost their connection with the Traveler or their connection with their Guardian was so strong, when the Guardian died, the Ghost died, too. I don't know for sure, but we'll probably learn more about the lore and everything in the finished game.
