Aww. Thanks guys! :D

Am I really the only American in this thread? :lol

We ran the others out with pitchforks and a disgust at them wanting spoiler tags on things because episodes hadn't aired in America yet..

I see.

It's probably for the best. Though, it does make put my annoyance at the anti-gun moralizing seem a bit....stereotypical on my part.

BRB. Going to go drink some shitty beer, eat some McDonalds and then finish drawing up plans to invade another country populated by a people who speak some damn language I'm too fat and lazy to learn.

You guys can come too. But you have to drive your own ridiculously large vehicle. I hate carpooling.

You can't though. We have enough bad press without y'all....:D

How could they have gotten more closure?

Seriously, the amount of closure this guy got is probably more than any character in the history of literature. And still he wanted more. Such a greedy fuck. Sure as hell got more than any of the other Doctors to date. Look at 6! We don't even know wtf killed him. Maybe he said "I don't want to go," too.

The concern I have with spoiler tagging, and the reason it just plain had to stop before, was because there were actual season 6 spoilers floating around and it was freakin' impossible to tell what was spoiling what. Could happen again any time.

Probably would have made more sense for WW to have done a LTTP thread, but it's really too late for that now.

No kidding. I was rolling my eyes by the time we got halfway through the farewell sequence at the end. It just seemed incredibly indulgent, and it looks even more so in the face of the regenerations of previous Doctors.

Heh. Well, this all started by me asking "What the fuck is a Doctor Who? I was told to give the series a shot, I posted my initial responses and it snowballed from there."

On topic though, season 4 so far is evenly great, IMO. The lows aren't as low so far, and the highs aren't as high as some of the bright spots in previous series, but the overall quality has been good.

There are definitely some dumb spots (drowning fish man comes to mind) but lighthearted episodes like The Unicorn and the Wasp really make this one fun to watch.

I'm midway through Silence in the Library, and I have to say, the world they built for this one is one of the best things about Doctor Who. It's beautifully realized and absolutely science fiction-y.

EDIT:
Miss Evangelista: No, they're right, though. I'm a moron, me. My dad said I had the IQ of plankton, and, I was pleased.
Donna Noble: [laughs] See, that's funny!
Miss Evangelista: No. No, I really was pleased. Is that funny?
Donna Noble: No, no.

:lol

EDIT2: Her death was one of the most emotionally manipulative scenes ever. That was fucked up. Fuck you Steven Moffat. Fuck you.

EDIT3: OH FUCK. Nevermind. Dave's death was goddamn scary. Holy shit.

EDIT4: DONNA NOBLE HAS LEFT THE LIBRARY DONNA NOBLE HAS BEEN SAVED HEY WHO TURNED OUT THE LIGHTS DONNA NOBLE HAS LEFT THE LIBRARY DONNA NOBLE HAS BEEN SAVED HEY WHO TURNED OUT THE LIGHTS

GAH! SHUT THE HELL UP!

Moffat loves his sound clip repetition, eh? ARE YOU MY MUMMY DONNA NOBLE?

Curious what your thought are on River Song?

Forest of the Dead.

These two episodes are everything that is brilliant about Doctor Who. Genius plot, fantastical setting, instantly likable characters, mystery and an enemy that can' be defeated - save for the Doctor's brain and sonic screwdriver.

The lady in black in Donna's dream was freaking cool too. If Moffat does this in constantly in season 5, I can't wait to get there.

These have been good enough to wash away the taint of Martha forever.

Actually, I quite like her. It's maddening to know that I'll probably never know what her deal is, or what she whispered into his ear.

Remember this is a show about time travel, and well...spoilers.

Cool. Just tell me they'll explain what she said?

I notice they got on the platform without checking to see if the girl in the suit was still alive. C'mon, man.

Some more emotionally wrenching scenes with Donna and her kids. Moffat is king at making me all emotional. I hates him. :lol

It's said in the episode a couple of times, IIRC. Not his name, but that that's what she whispered in his ear.

I wonder if they'll ever actually say his name. I'm guessing no, and I think that's a wise decision.

Moffat strikes again with River. Goddamn.

EDIT: Doctor staring at the charred corpse of his future lover. Fuck. Donna missing her lover by seconds...that was cheap. Like they couldn't just wait for everybody to teleport out?

Moffat is great at wringing emotions out of his viewers, but he does rely on cheap tricks to do it.

EDIT 2: Okay, wait a second. Couldn't he do for River the same thing he did with the 4000 people saved to the computer? Like, print her out, or whatever?

The Sun made up a story about how Matt Smith is leaving after his second series. Don't believe The Sun, ever, but reading the comments is... wow. Half of the people are saying Smith's too ugly to do any acting, there's a few who want RTD back, and the others seem worried that, as there's only 13 Doctors possible, they'll have to end the show soon if actors keep leaving this quickly. Because it'd be impossible for the show to continue after 13 Doctors. :lol

Though reading that does make me think: there's probably enough 'fans' out there who'll make a fuss about the 13th Doctor being the last possible Doctor. Stuff like the Sun and the Daily Mirror will probably try to spin a story out of that about how the BBC is 'ruining' the 'epic story' of Doctor Who by going back on the Time Lord legacy if they go beyond a 13th, so... I hope/guess that might mean they'll have to address that on the show, when we get to that, quite specifically, to shut those critics up. Because it looks like these tabloids will try anything to work up a Who-shitstorm.

I'm imagining a scene where the Doctor is ready to finally get his peace and rest and then the White Guardian shows up, grants him another 13 regenerations and tells him tough fucking shit. Back to work!

:lol Yes! Have it happen in the last two minutes of the 13th Doctor, have an old man appear out of nowhere wearing white clothes and a hat, without further explanation, to completely confuse 90% of the viewers of Doctor Who. And then the Doctor regenerates into a William Hartnell lookalike. Perfect!

So I'm not usually much of a show capture GIFer, especially of stuff 40 years old, but I couldn't resist when the First Doctor went crazy over a toothache:

or was incredibly distressed at the ensuing anesthetic-free 1800s dentistry:

Turn Left now.

Rose Tyler is not aging well. At all. It's like running into an old girlfriend you've been thinking about for years, then realizing she got hooked on meth somewhere along the way. Sad, really.

I think Billie must've gotten braces to fix her bottom teeth around that period because Rose has got one hell of a lisp in those episodes.

That would explain why she looks good in some parts and manly in others.

EDIT: Vehicular manslaughter solves an amazing amount of time paradoxes, broken timelines and screwed up world in the Doctor Who universe. :lol

It does. I can't believe I didn't post anything during it! I think I was to absorbed in it.

Midnight was amazing, IMO. The diamond world, poisoned by a star's rays. The interaction between the trapped characters and the Doctor solved a little issue I had. Previously, every human that found themselves in an odd situation with the Doctor didn't seem to wonder if maybe HE was part of the problem.

Great episode.

Bad Wolf again, eh?

EDIT: Stolen Earth starting. Rose is back, Martha is back, Donna is here, Sarah Jane and Jack are back...it's a Doctor's greatest hits!

EDIT2: Well, of course it's the Daleks. No shit, people. Even Rose's dumbass knew that. And WTF at Jack just going..."oh, well fuck it. We're dead already."

It's not really fair that the Dalek's keep getting rez'd and the Time Lords stay dead.

Mickey and Jackie return, too. They got me on that fake Doctor regeneration, too.

They're really throwing everything that has ever happened in new-Who into these episodes.
