I would like to play the demo over and over, but I do not want to spoil the final game for me :D.

I'd like to rent it, but no way in hell any Blockbusters or Hollywood Videos will have it on day one. Sigh... *bids farewell to $60 plus tax*

XHitoshuraX, I have some questions for you. :D

First how did you get an advanced copy of the game? You started posting impressions but never said how you got the game. Do you work for a magazine or website? You seem to counter every negative comment with a positive one, why? If people are not to into the game, why keep trying to persuade them? You also mentioned you have played and beat the game, why would you then go out and buy a retail copy? And lastly why do feel the need to push this game so much?

Don't take this as an attack on you; I'm just curious as to why you seem so die hard about this game. If you look back at your post history it almost sounds like you're on Ninja Theory's payroll.

I appreciate your questions, I would be happy to answer them for you!

Firstly, if you have a question as to how I recieved my copy early and what I do, who I work for etc, I would be glad to tell you the information I can. As you know, a very large amount of industry professionals lurk and post on GAF and it isn't always a wise decision to out oneself, so to speak. I refuse to name drop or any such thing but I can say I have followed the development of this game closely. And no, I do not work for Ninja Theory.

Secondly, I do not force my opinions down the throat of others. I have a great deal respect for this game and when people voice their concerns, I try and add my perspective. Its obvious I enjoy the game but I hardly believe I go on screaming rampages when someone disagrees with me.

Thirdly, as for buying a retail copy; that something that isnt possible to explain really. At the same time its quite simple. I would like a retail copy. Just like anyone else here.

Lastly, as for pushing the game. I'll admitt this, I enjoy the game and would love to see it do well. If you were to promote your favorite game would you be suprised if I questioned you as to why you're so "excited" about it?

Thank you for your questions and should you have any others please let me know.

Oh and thanks RichieRich for letting us know about the HD version!

Wow, Phil is on GAF!!!

despite the mediocre press and reviews i've read

this is the first game that makes me wish i had $500 to drop on a ps3 (note: i had a ps3 before, took it back because i couldn't justify the purchase)

She is a f'ing hot heroine and i love the style of the game, even if it's a short game.

Happy for PS3 to finally have 2 AAA exclusives now at least (Warhawk, now this). It's too bad Lair fell short. I'm excited to see what comes the rest of the year.

Probably just Aisenherz's new account.

Hmmm, he knows who aisenherz is and he's a noob. Sick 'em GAF. :p

So I'm not completely OT: I AM REALLY EXCITED FOR THIS GAAAAAAAMMMMMME!!!!!!!!!!

I added exactly ten exclamation points as directed to show how excited I am. :p

I didn't know scores that have fallen mostly in the 8 range makes a title mediocre. I can't wait to see that Gamespot review tonight/tomorrow. Also, that commercial is HAWT.

I don't see how a multiplayer mode would work with this game.

I guess not. But it could be cool. :)

Ninja Theory co-founder Tameem Antoniades has told Eurogamer that a multiplayer mode for Heavenly Sword could pop up sooner than we thought.

It won't feature at launch, he clarified, but his team has its sights firmly set on it.

"There's no multiplayer mode in Heavenly Sword as our focus was always to create an intense personal experience; it would have been too damn complex to deal with that as well," Antoniades told Eurogamer. "We did, however, develop the combat system using multiplayer test levels, as it's a great way of soak testing and balancing it."

"So who knows? Maybe we will decide to go down that route sometime soon. And when we do, it won't just be slapped-on to please marketing tick-boxes. You can be assured that we have our sights on multiplayer."

kinda dissapointed at the lack of advertising for Heavenly Sword (and the PS3 in general I guess) on TV over here.

canadians, both best buy and futureshop are selling heavenly sword for $60.. which is $10 cheaper than the usual $70 for new current-gen releases.. OMG?

GS gave it a 8.0

The Good

* Superb presentation and excellent acting make the game feel like a movie
* Having three different attack stances works well and keeps the combat fresh
* Motion controls are implemented nicely and are a nice break from fighting
* From the moment it starts until the moment the credits roll, the game never lets up.

The Bad

* So short it can be finished in an afternoon
* Not enough variety to the bad guys' design and attacks
* Some bosses feel a little cheap.

From the review:

Add it all up and Heavenly Sword is a fantastic game from start to finish. It's just a shame that it's not longer. The developer made the wise decision to keep the action tight by not including any fetch quests or backtracking, but skilled players will probably finish the game in a little more than six hours, and it probably won't take longer than eight hours for anyone else. There are some DVD-style extras to unlock and you can play it again on "hell mode" once you've beaten it; just don't expect to get much more than a great weekend for your $60. If you're OK with that, you won't be disappointed in Heavenly Sword.

Sounds like they really built a solid foundation for a franchise. The main complaint has been length. With a lot of assets created I'm sure the sequel will be longer :)

I'd love to see this be the game that really puts Ninja Theory on the road toward a long, healthy development life.
What they've done with the PS3 hardware is just fantastic... and I hope they get a shot at not only a sequel, but other big projects.

As I expected from the demo HS is truly a beautiful game, it's a shame it's over so soon but personally I don't care, many of the best games I've ever played fall in the <10hours category

Besides variety and length what I hope they do in the sequel is to add a bit more thoughtful adventuring as well as a inventory/upgrade/skill tree system of some sorts.

Over where? I saw the commercial twice while watching NFL Countdown.

The UK. Apart from a Motorstorm advert I cant recall a single game advertisement for a PS3 exclusive game, all PS3 ads have just been that wierd hotel thing.

Awesome.

Hopefully they'll have the chance to up the playtime in the sequel, just like GoW did eh. :p

Too bad that when developers want to make a game last longer the first trick thy use is backtracking...which I always find to be really boring and forced on the player.

Length seems to be the only main complaint. That's really good to know. Even after the demo, I wasn't sure if the press would take to the gameplay.

Good enough for me!!! It's a relief that Gamespot gave it a stamp of approval. Good show.

6-8 hours of that kind of shit is well worth the money IMO. That looks like something I'd play over and over.

maybe an game that I will actually finish... i dont remember if that happened ever before.

People need to realize that not everyne is hard core gamer...
