I agree with you, but I find riding Epona fun, especially if I get into those horse battles on the way to my destination. But if I'm feeling really impatient, warp points all the way.

You think that while you play but it is one of my favorite things to do. You miss out on a lot if you don't ride her and rape that
warpin

*shrugs*

You don't need Epona to engage mounted enemies. Epona limits my attacking and damage output significantly.

Just made it to
The Temple of Time
in the Gamecube version.

I have to say that so far, Dungeon 3 remains my favorite. Number 4 is a very close second. I honestly thought Dungeon 5, while unique, felt a little too unZelda or something for my tastes. I'm nitpicking though, it was still good and cleverly designed. Just not your usual dungeon.

So glad to have finally found
the last golden insect! I thought I'd lose my mind looking for the one that ended up being right before the Temple of Time entrance, on the wall after you descend the stairs. I thought I kept missing it on the overworld somewhere.

This game is just brilliant on so many levels. How can they possibly top this game in the future? They've truly outdone themselves. And according to most others' impressions, the rest of the game is even better than what I've already played.

That is all.

A true OMFG moment for most of us. Now make sure it remains that way for everyone else, and please spoiler tag that.

Yeah, spoiler tag that shit

Edit: I see that you already did, oh and your avatar goes well with your post

I've now beat the main quest and it's time for me to do the sidequests. But I've never figured out how to get the
gorons to break down those sealed off passages through Hyrule field. They ask for hot spring water, but when I try and give it to them Link just pours out the water on the ground. How do I get that goron to break those boulders in front of castle town's southern gate?

Oh, and I'm kinda disappointed that there were no Octorocks in the game. I've come to expect them in every Zelda game ever.
I would have liked to have seen some of the stuff from the trailers that was cut still in the game. Like that big forest creature and the cats in the forest, the ghosts of the soldiers in Hyrule's sewers, and that other version of the Ghoma boss battle.

Dungeon 5 is also my favorite dungeon. And when I noticed
Yeto's saddle for a hat, I thought I'd eventually be riding on top of his head at one point in the game

And does anyone know anywhere I can see some character artwork for some of the later characters in the game?
Like character designs of Midna's true form, or Ganondorf
Those were probably the best looking characters in the game. They were actually more interestingly designed than I've come to expect from Zelda characters.

To open the sealed off passages, you have to first rebuild the broken bridge so you can hot water from the shop in castle town. You rebuild the bridge by donating to the relief fund at malo mart

For the first batch of hot water (Goron on the bridge), you must return to Kakariko Village, and grab a BARREL of the crap from the Goron elder chilling outside Malo's Mart. Good luck getting the barrel to the Goron on the bridge without it getting cold, or the barrel getting trashed! Protip: You need to Z-target the bastard and chuck the barrel at him.

The second part, getting a BOTTLE of hot water to the Goron who'll crash through the boulder-obstruction for you; it's a much simpler affair. Merely get a free refill from the reopened spring water kiosk in Hyrule Castle Town, then dash over to the Goron and give it to him.

I'm stuck.

I'm doing the water temple and I've just let the second floodgate loose. However, unlike the first one, there's no effect on the main room. Where do I go from here?

Try turning the stairs until something happens.

Nothing's happening. There has to be a step I'm missing.

When you open the first floodgate, you gain access to a room in which you can grapple your way inside (by using the ceiling). That room has a handle near the highest point. I pulled the handle and water came pouring out. However, it doesn't seem to be leaving the room, or turning any of the mechanisms.

Just wondering, are you talking about the second one here or the first one?

Don't forget to pull the switch at the bottom of the room to open the gate and let the water through

we all love Ganondorf's line when Link and Midna enter the the highest tower in Hyrule Castle.

Ganondorf: "Welcome To My Castle"

well guess what, Link has taken over the Palace of Twilight, after usurping and stomping the crap out of the little psycho, the usurper "king" Zant.

Wow. I have to say that this game is exceeding my expectations. The beginning was ****ing horrible, but, things picked up right after I beat Dungeon number 1. Now I'm in
the water temple
and loving it. Not the dungeon so much, but, the game.

The Water dungeon is the best Water thing ever.

Pretty much. Nintendo deserves applause just for overcoming a huge mountain of suck that usually accompanies every water level ever. And the fact that the water temple was good? Just icing on the cake.

spoiler tags guys

and i am now convinced that i'm the only person in the world who didn't find the first few hours/dungeons either slow, boring or terrible. i'm still surprised at every single comment pointing out the tediousness or lameness of the beginning. i LOVED the beginning. after 10 hours of playtime my impressions would have been VERY positive.

I'm with you, I really did love the first 3 dungeons.

I loved the beginning too. I also love the design of the kids and the NPCs in general. When people talked about the slow opening, I really thought they meant
up until you're taken into the Twilight Realm the FIRST time. Not the whole first two or three dungeons.

same here. plus i even liked that part (before the TR).

So did I. But it was slow. The characters really made that whole part work.
Felt bad for Colin. He does the right thing by telling Rusl what happened and the other kids hate him for getting them in trouble.

It definitely was a step up from the Wind Waker in terms of narrative and art style (the beginning segment that is). The thing though, while they both had amazing music, Outset Island has the best music ever for openings.

I agree it was slow, but I didn't think it was terrible because of the characters who made it all work well.

TP has lots and lots of great characters, it's the first Zelda game where there was no single character I didn't like. Quite a feat.

I loved the first third of the game. Actually, I much preferred the pacing and design of the first third to everything right up until the last dungeon (which wasn't a brilliant "dungeon", exactly, but the atmosphere was fantastic).

In the 3rd temple
when u get to the lever that starts the water flowing theres a chest infront of u, once turn the water on is it still possible to get to it? How about if you've gone down the water slide already.

Yes, but it's a long, long walk.

After the Zora armour, what else is there to get? I've beaten the game but there's an empty slot on my inventory which would imply that there is another armour/suit to get...how do I get it?

Magic armor in castle town. You have to buy it from that expensive shop/future Malo Mart Castle branch

Ah... thanks.

I was just about to put in the rupees necessary for the Malo Mart castle branch, never would have figured that'd be how I get it. :lol

What does the armour do in particular? Is it useful in anyway?

The armor eats up rupees instead of hearts. It's only really good for the Cave of Ordeals

That's kinda sucky, I actually prefer to be challenged in the Cave of Ordeals, so I'll only get it for the sake of completion then :(

it eats up rupees as long as you have it on AND more when you take a hit.

Wow, people are still spoilering Ganon. When has he not been the
main :P
villain in a console Zelda... aside from Zelda II? Yeah, he was the real villain of that game because I saw his ass so much in it. :(
And what the heck gave with that dream sequence with the evil Links and the evil Ilia? Is it foreshadowing the effects of Twilight on regular people? I thought it was weird, trippy, and stupid. I was really looking forward to fighting Dark Link, or finding out that the one-eyed solidier was BIG BOSS or a Dark Link.

WOW @ the fourth temple/dungeon and that new item! The boss was fantastically fresh and frantic. I've now just entered the fifth puzzle complex and this game has already totally enamored me :D

Finally into dungeon 4. The desert prior was the first time I was actually really impressed with the visuals. Climbing up to that odd structure in the far corner and looking out over the heat-wave filled desert was a memorable moment.

The temple itself is already impressing me as well.

Anyone else hate the battle music, by the way? The areas following dungeon 3 were filled with some beautiful music (really set the mood), but anytime an enemy would come within range, that awful battle song would kick in and ruin it. Drove me crazy. In fact, there was a point where the battle music continued to play despite the fact that no enemies were present. I really dislike the use of dynamic music when the music chosen is so different and poor sounding. This has always been a complaint I've had with the 3D Zeldas. I don't understand why they continue to do that. Nintendo's sound designers pretty much suck...

OTHER than that, the game is f*cking awesome. I might just have to give it GOTY...

Ok whats the deal with the
talking Boar Rider-Boss
found in the last dungeon? I have a special place for him in my heart, he performed a 12 heart combo on me! Only boss-character to kill me in the game.
