in all honesty i didn't really deserve to win that game. i was outplayed badly in the 2nd and 3rd quarter.

i have no idea what to do against freeman. here is what would happen:

1. i don't bring pressure and play zone. freeman runs for a first down.
2. i bring pressure and play man. freeman scrambles out and a man open.
3. dm decides not to scramble and i might get lucky with an incompletion!

and wtf dm doesn't even need to slide. motherfucker throws cb's, lb's, and d-line alike off like flies.

i also had my worst game of the season (i feel) with english. sacked like 6 times and i threw 2 picks. still completed 80% of my passes with 3 td's and 300 yards though. but it felt like i lucked out on some dropped picks. although ronde barber made up for it with a fucking ridiculous skying 1 hand pick. he bumped royal, royal gets past him and is open about 7 yards beyond barber and in front of the safety so i try to loft it in.... NOPE!

gg dm. you probably deserved to win that game, but that's the luck of english!

i got away with some really bad throws, but in the "bullshit qb" category i'd say english and freeman are in the same league!

I've watched the replay like 50 times. WHAT MORE COULD I DO ON THAT PLAY? How does the ball not ACCIDENTLY hit me at least?

From what I've seen of Freeman - like shrugging of Freeney and throwing the ball 90 yards in the air downfield - he's pretty far up the "wtf" scale.

Hey Tiburon, why don't you rate the Bucs players like they should be instead of giving them a homer bonus. :lol I've never seen any qb in this game stop and turn on a dime like that and toss the ball down field in the opposite direction.

Not like he'll read it, but that second one is just as offensive with the spin move AND the mid air throw. He wasn't even looking down field...he was looking at his own endzone. You throw like that in real life and it will never get there like that or JRuss and TJack would be kings.

Are you saying I ran this as my base D? I spent most of the game in the various base 3-4 formations. Nickel Odd Split was only used in obvious passing situations (mixed in with the other nickel formations too.)



I'm not sure what's wrong with the NO offensive playbook. I'm usually a heavy passing team, and I like their pass playbook. Sure, they have a few different toss plays, but most of my damage in this game (actually, most of my games) was done with the pass with 3 50+ yd pass plays (1 screen, 1 quick drag to the outside, 1 bomb).

Also, I've never even seen the Titan's defensive playbook, so it would've been stupid to try to figure it out. I switched to Baltimore's D 2 games ago, so I figured I'd just run with it again.




As for CJ, 22 carries for 115 yards with a 14-16 yard long hardly sounds like toss cheese. I was running mostly stretch plays and off-tackle runs because you stopped the 2-3 toss plays I called early. Most of his yards came after the game was already pretty much over. I'm pretty sure he had under 40 yards in the 1st half.

I lost, a game i could have won...tough break early cost me as it would have changed your gameplan..i was venting..and yes CJ was "contained " and even if the toss wasn't netting 50 yards a pop it would get you first downs anyway :p I'm not calling you out. Why would I, i beat you once with your own team...idk why i felt the way i did. I'm sure id feel the same if i knew all week i was playing Pheeniks and then Rors took over and beat me :/

About people coming out in the Nickel to stop the run and the Nickel Odd Split BS, how is it far fetched? The top 4 rushing D's in our league are predicated on speed, in fact both Rors (who stole the guy I was going to take) and Luke (who stole another of my guys) have made it a point to get the fastest LBs over the past two drafts. The extra corner on the field is likely much faster than any other LB on the depth chart, so why not? What else can be expected though when players have increasingly relied on speed backs hitting the outside with tosses. (Yes I realize I'm in the #6 spot for run D, but I made some changes to my scheme as of late...)

Personally what I'd do against NOS is either as LJ said, pass to loosen it up since it's an 8 man front, or play power football. I don't know what running plays DCX was using but against a speed defensive front your OL needs to stay solid, meaning no pulling guards - because the safeties on the outside will beat them to the point of attack - no tosses - the safeties will beat you to the outside - and I wouldn't even do delayed runs - the eight man front would be too tough to get through. I'd focus on dives or runs between the guards and tackles with a leading FB. If you have a good OL (which DCX does) you can hit the second level and a guy like Tank will have no problem running over the safety.

We used to have a rule against the blitz bluff and that is the closest problem to the NOS. Stacks the box and guys can get back into coverage no problem.

That's the thing wells..I ran up the middle and tank couldn't break the tackles with a lead FB..its like everything u mentioned didn't matter..great oline..great FB and power back should equal a push like no other which in most games it has..not this one..the dline got in quick..the lbs and safetys took tank down quick..it was bizzare.

I'm sure if we played again with the same circumstances it wouldn't happen the same. I mean seriously everything that could happen good for him did and everything bad happened to me. Dropped first downs..tank playing soft..dbs dropping ints..its hard to play against fate. I was destined to lose this game.

You know....I'm just not really sure. Maybe it's lack of practice. I did pretty good in the first season we played, but I think I just don't have the same amount of time (or drive) to practice as much as the other players in this league. IDK. Losing twice this season to Bob has pretty much crushed my spirit. I mean.....its fucking BOB of all people.

Actually, I didn't draft him for run stopping (he sux at it), I drafted him for cover skills. I was tired of constant TE drags and HB swings. At least now, even though he still won't cover the drag, he'll at least keep a decent pace with the TE. Plus, I was sorely lacking at the position I put him at. The reason I stop the run is mostly because of Morrison (not that fast) and my DL. Last season, I drafted a DT and this season I made moves for run stuffers. The only one on my DL that isn't a run defense specialist is Scott, but he holds his own.

Also, Mack was not just the fastest LB, he was the best LB period. He's PWilly's daddy.
