The fact that you say every play is a roll out is complete bullshit. That simply isn't true. Ask anyone who's ever played me and they know I play the game honestly. For fucks sake you were up big in the game and still complaining.
I have a quarterback that has good speed, has good throw power and throws accurately on the run. Forgive me if I've been 4-12, 5-11, 2-14, and that I'm trying to take advantages of the things that I do have.
But I guess when you do get beat by big plays its easy to bitch since you're consistently at the bottom of the standings with me. it's this kind of bitching that makes it hard to play in this league now. but i'm going with the smokey roll --- don't give a fuck what any of you think and I'm doing it my way

A couple of people were asking why I thought RG SanGiacomo, who was picked in the second round by Smokey, was a good pick even though he is rated 55 OVR. So far from all that I have seen there are only seven and *maybe* eight stats that are relevant for offensive linemen, regardless of their position. Here is what I think, in no particular order
SPD Important for Guards if you call a lot of screens and counters. If you call a lot of tosses then it can be a factor for Tackles as well. You need to make sure your blockers can get out in front of you, and the faster they do the faster you can follow them up-field
ACC See SPD
IBL The pancake rating. Basically if a guy can flatten the oncoming defender quickly and effectively, its essentially a 10 on 11 because the other guy is dead on the floor and your man is free to continue blocking.
RBS (Run Block Strength)/PBS (Pass Block Strength) Theres two types of rushers in the NFL, bull rushers and speed/finesse rushers. In order to represent that EA created the PMV/FMV attributes for DL. D-Ends have (typically) higher FMV and DTs are usually higher in terms of PMV. The direct opposite of PMV is the RB/PB strength rating. With guards and centers, you will usually matchup against DTs so you want guys with high RBS/PBS more than anything so that they can stonewall the DTs. Think of it this way, its your boy getting down low and blowing the other motherfucker off the line of scrimmage.
RBF (Run Block Footwork)/PBF (Pass Block Footwork) For finesse guys (DEs), high quality footwork is what you want to counter them. Its the direct counter to FMV. You guys have seen Dwight Freeney in action right? Dude does a spin move past the tackle and is at the QB. The best I ever saw handle him was future HOFer Jonathan Ogden, kept his arms out, feet moving, and spun Freeney in place while staying in front of him. Thats the best way to envision the play between FMV and the footwork ratings.
AWR I am *fairly* positive that AWR doesnt mean shit for OL and I wanted to take a gamble with SanGiacomo and C Gregory Arthur, but someone took them before I had a chance. I took the #2 C in the season 1 draft and I thought he was the #1 OL in the whole draft, so far he has proven me right despite having 50 AWR (Yeah he allowed 2 sacks against user controlled Ratliffe last night, but AI has trouble with user controlled interior linemen).
So this freakin guy SanGiacomo:
55 OVR
46 SPD
37 ACC
23 AWR
57 IBL
91 RBS
79 RBF
92 PBS
80 PBF
I wanted to take him, plug him in at C and have my beast current C play LG. Smokey beat me to the punch unfortunately.
But in round 6 I did get this monster, Siemian

I can put him in on passing downs and not stress out if I want to.
You should look very closely at these stats for FBs and TEs as well. Even WRs on the outside.

AWR rocks for when your QB fumbles. It's funny when they scoop up the ball and run with it too.
Anyway, I think AWR does matter a little bit, but not enough to choose it over any of those other stats.

Well I guess it kind of evens out. He has 70 IBL vs 57, but SanGiacomo has 91 RBS and 92 PBS vs 83 and 85.

Either way it wasn't that big of a factor and I adjusted and got two sacks when your QB strafed right into my defensive end who was standing there waiting for him.
I'll try not to post critical evaluations of other players in the middle of the game from now on.
I wish I hadn't missed the last 3 rounds while biking home, I got absolute garbage players. Add to that that some stupid person called me to take a survey about my doctor causing me to mess up my 4th rounder and ugh. I had a bad draft after the first 2 rounds. Doing this while at work makes it hard to focus properly.

(Please don't add me to "the list." (((()I'm more happy that I got a couple of backup plans for Eli that are way better than Grossman. Needed an insurance plan because of the infusion of all the high POW guys in the league.
Also a couple of other notes:
In Michael Johnson's debut game for the Falcons he recorded two forced fumbles and five tackles. Not bad for a guy that no one wanted to even take off of my hands. Aside from SPD, he was better across the board than that safety the game had ranked as the #1 overall pick.
As I've been saying I'm away from Thursday the 18th to Monday the 22nd. Fifty, we will likely advance before Wednesday, but in the case that we don't, can you play Wednesday night? I'd already spoken to Rors about filling in for me if I can't play, but I'd much rather face you since I haven't played you in Madden 10, and you'd probably have an easier time against me than Rors with the most elite team in the franchise. DCX and I will play when I get back Monday.

Nah it's just our approach to the game that is a little different. Aside from work I'm not really doing much after work during the winter months except sitting at home and watching movies/playing Madden, so I've probably logged more time than most, I think that is the main diff between you and I.ph33nix said:

I was targeting an LB in the draft as a blitz specialist, but he was taken before I could get him so I grabbed a similar guy, Faitele Fua. 90 SPD, 87 POW, 79 PUR, 93 ACC, but he is 55 OVR. I can't play him every down because he can't cover or tackle as well as other guys I have on the team, but whenever I called a blitz against Somnia I subbed him in and at different positions. I had him in there probably ten plays, dude ends up with 3 tackles, 2 for a loss, and a sack. I put him at LB, Safety, and NB throughout the game and just brought it - worked out pretty well. I am likely going to expand my D gameplan to include him more often.
I am very anal about having the right personnel on the field since the end of last season. On passing downs I want Boley and Brackett as my two LBs in Nickel, or Boley as the lone in dime. 4-3 I like to go with Williams, Bradley/Fua, and Brackett. I feel like I am very deep everywhere.
My tackle, Siemian who I mention above, I subbed him in on passing downs at TE and kept him in for max protect.
I was very happy to get all those picks in the mid rounds for this draft, there was a lot more talent than any other. I picked up a starting LG, that LB, a backup QB, and in the third I picked up a return specialist, and some other dude I can't even think of.
My D didn't do too well last night due to giving up huge plays. I expect a return to form tho.
