He's young and a 2 time pro bowler. Seems like a fair amount.
Vince Young is a Pro Bowler 2x as well, dunno if we should go down that road. :P

He's 28 years old, and will be 29 before the playoffs. They need Safeties but I am not in the group who thinks Harper is among the better ones. Too slow, not good in coverage, but a decent box guy. I guess this is what happens when there's a CAP ceiling. It's a similar deal the Giants gave Rolle, and he was one of the highest paid at the time. And Harper got more guaranteed...

FA rumblings according to CBS:

-James Jones in talks with Minnesota, working towards a deal, Jets also in the mix as well as Packers.

-Vikings no longer in talks with Braylon Edwards, potential suitors include Jets, Cardinals.

-With Aso signed, all CB desiring teams are looking towards Cromartie. Interested teams are Jets, Cardinals, Cowboys, Texans, Jags, Raiders, Bucs and Seahawks.

-Plaxico is said to be meeting with Steelers, Giants, Eagles and Rams.

-Ravens in talks with Chris Carr, other interested teams are Jets, Jags and 49ers.

-Randy Moss supposedly lowers asking price, potential landing spots are Jets, Patriots and Rams.

-Vikings are heavy favorites to land Malcolm Floyd, others in the running are Cardinals and Raiders.

-Jets said to be interested in Ronnie Brown to replace Brad Smith, other teams interested are Giants, Chargers and Bengals.

-Steve Smith is expected to re-sign with Giants on 1 year contract.

-Broncos showing mutual interest in Donte Whitner, other clubs in the mix are Bills, Patriots and Browns.

-Manny Lawson said to be talking to Patriots, Cardinals, 49ers, Dolphins and Chiefs.

-Chargers join in on Matt Roth talk, clubs in the mix include Jets, Jags and Patriots.

-Jags possible match for Michael Huff, with Cowboys still in the mix.

-Shaun Ellis on radar of Jets and Patriots.

-Browns possibility for T.O., with Rams, Vikings and Bears as other options.

i HURD vICK iz the greatest. Word iz they will win 3 SBs next year. I cant wait, rite guyz?

Edit: Eww, I don't want Plax's stink on my stinkin Eagles. We need a good LB and could use some help on the OL. And our safety situation isn't the best. If they flip one of these CBs for a player, this offseason will go down in history. Although, I hate winning the offseason SB, it hasn't helped the Deadskins or the Cowgirls one bit.

I'm trying to not jump. Talk me down off the ledge please. I know you cant buy yourself into contention. The right way is to draft well, development, blah blah blah but we just have so many gaping holes, we need some help! Most of these 2nd/3rd tier guys arent much better if at all than what we already have. We need some impact players and they're disappearing quick.

All the analysis I've read is that along with the building through the draft mantra Heckert and Co have been saying all along, they're waiting to see how the new CBA plays out over the next couple of years. Because of the lack of spending in FA they may be better suited a little further down the line.

Rams with a nice addition at WR. Bradford must be pleased.

If the Jets are going after Ronnie Brown, does that means LT is done?

Doubt it, its probably more about Schotty never wanting to give up the Wildcat/Seminolecat whatever you wanna call it offense.

Dude, I wish I could have been listening to Mike Missanelli when word came down. Had fun reading thru the last 4 pages. Better than 4 NFC championship games but not better than the 5th. 6th time the charm, rite guyz? Reid? Somebody?

He is a very good boxy safety, but I agree that he is pretty poor in coverage. I think he is a good player for GW's system. Harper blitz's a lot. Weddle's deal probably caused that price to go up as well.

Now Hunter Pence to the Phils and we don't give up D Brown? Wow. Philly is on a roll today and the Eagles trolled the Phightins again. Not many people know that the Eagles continuously try to trump the Phils over the past few years.

You realize the Phillies got bent over on that trade, right?

You can thank Houston for both. ;)

Wait a minute....Aso went to the Eagles? Holy fuck....they must be trying to be like the Phillies or something. I never would have thought they were in the running.

Dolphins sign Matt Moore for 2 years. Just keeps getting sadder.

Don't despair, all the Dolphins need is a little Luck.

First Reggie Bush and now this. Bush will end up faking an injury three games into the new season, and Henne will be Henne. Dolphins need better decision makers. Fuck Ireland.

Its pretty clear to me Nnamdi was using the Texans like a hot chick uses an ugly guy

Nope. Houston walked away in fear of losing their back up plan, Joseph. Worked out better for us anyway.

i wouldnt believe the official team stance on what happened. they are trying to save face

More likely: getting extensions ready for Sitton and Finley. In light of your response to this the other day, the latter obviously won't sniff an offer until he makes it to week 10 or so without ending up on IR.
Do we really need $15 cap space to make those moves?

I don't know.

Pay Sitton whatever he wants though - guy is great.

errr, that deal isn't great for Phils, they overpaid.

Ok, prove me wrong.

the fact that he dicked two teams around just to go to a team that wasnt even talked about for the most part.

Believing anything any FO/Coach tells you is foolish. They all tow the company line. Do you think they would actually say "we were being used so we signed option B to be safe?

Its a smart move. i would have done the same thing at that point. But to think Aso's agent wasnt doing this to atleast partially drive up the market for his services would be wrong

Well Clay is going to need more $ as well. Get Sitton and Matthews locked up sooner rather than later.

Just got back from work and I finally caught up. Holy hell did not expect the Eagles to sign Aso. Now that he is with Philly I don't think the Giants trade Osi. There was a small chance he might be traded, but now I just don't see it happening. Unless something goes wrong between them. I wonder where Cromartie is going to sign. Jets are forced to spend big dollars on him if they plan on keeping him.

id rather lock up JAX first. and get a linebacker. Plax is the definition of a luxury for us right now

You laugh but that's too much money.

Ted would be wise to extend Finley and Matthews in the middle of the season like he did Tramon (assuming the former doesn't trip over a Redskin again).

Thanks to Asomugha and Incarcerated Bob, there were over 1100 posts in the past 24 hours. That's insane for an offseason and non-draft day.

Youre probably right but I dont give a fuck. We addressed our two biggest needs with two quality players. Sign a FB and LB depth and this will be an awesome FA period.
