Was he the "I'd rather lose 5 NFC Title games than win 1 Super Bowl!" guy?

It's amazing the history he created with that argument. There's not very many things I remember from internet forums over the years, but that will always be one of them. That and maybe tipping over magazine racks.

That and the Mike Bell thing are neck and neck for me

So Harbaugh gave a response as to why we've done nothing in Free Agency; for my faithful niner brethren. Not really satisfied with the response myself, doubt anyone else will be either, but I'd be really happy for him to prove me wrong.

Translation: We want to suck so we have a chance at Andrew Luck next year, or do you guys want another season of Alex Smith?

That doesn't make any sense. Why would we waste a 2nd round pick on Kaepernick if we wanted to tank?

Besides, it'll be hard to beat the likes of Seattle/Washington tanking for Luck with you guys starting either Beck or Grossman and them going with Tjack. Can't help but think Washington has Luck in mind with them not going after Orton or anyone at all.

the fact that he dicked two teams around just to go to a team that wasnt even talked about for the most part.

Believing anything any FO/Coach tells you is foolish. They all tow the company line. Do you think they would actually say "we were being used so we signed option B to be safe?

Its a smart move. i would have done the same thing at that point. But to think Aso's agent wasnt doing this to atleast partially drive up the market for his services would be wrong

It doesn't really seem like the price was 'driven up' at the end.

Do you mean me saying Mike Bell would be good? If so I am surprised that would stick with people so much, I see people say way more crazy things here then that.

Wow, impressed at the Eagles.

Definitely going for it all this year. Too bad it is the Steelers year. Who needs Nnamdi when you have Gay?

Except his price really didn't go up. He got $12 mill. He was expected or thought to receive a contract in the 14 or so range.

Seeing what happened with the Jets makes me feel a bit better about the Texans pulling out and going with Joseph. The same thing could've happened with him if they Texans kept waiting on Nnamdi to make up his mind.

His contract signifies that he believes in the Eagles the most of any of his suitors to take him to the promised land, since it wasn't a break the bank sort of deal.

FA rumblings according to CBS:

-James Jones in talks with Minnesota, working towards a deal, Jets also in the mix as well as Packers.

-Vikings no longer in talks with Braylon Edwards, potential suitors include Jets, Cardinals.

-With Aso signed, all CB desiring teams are looking towards Cromartie. Interested teams are Jets, Cardinals, Cowboys, Texans, Jags, Raiders, Bucs and Seahawks.

-Plaxico is said to be meeting with Steelers, Giants, Eagles and Rams.

-Ravens in talks with Chris Carr, other interested teams are Jets, Jags and 49ers.

-Randy Moss supposedly lowers asking price, potential landing spots are Jets, Patriots and Rams.

-Vikings are heavy favorites to land Malcolm Floyd, others in the running are Cardinals and Raiders.

-Jets said to be interested in Ronnie Brown to replace Brad Smith, other teams interested are Giants, Chargers and Bengals.

-Steve Smith is expected to re-sign with Giants on 1 year contract.

-Broncos showing mutual interest in Donte Whitner, other clubs in the mix are Bills, Patriots and Browns.

-Manny Lawson said to be talking to Patriots, Cardinals, 49ers, Dolphins and Chiefs.

-Chargers join in on Matt Roth talk, clubs in the mix include Jets, Jags and Patriots.

-Jags possible match for Michael Huff, with Cowboys still in the mix.

-Shaun Ellis on radar of Jets and Patriots.

-Browns possibility for T.O., with Rams, Vikings and Bears as other options.

So basically everyone is possibly going to every team?

ESPNNY's Ohm Youngmisuk is reporting a source close to Burress has told him that the meeting tonight with Giants went well, but Plax has his eyes on Philly.

Probably dickhead Drew, but grr.

!!!!

Would love to have Plax...all are welcome but only after we get DJAX and Vick resigned. Adding Plax while DJAX holds out would be total downgrade.

Who are the best LBs left?

Niners being interested in exactly 2 players saddens me :( Although that means we may actually keep Manlaw. Hoping we can get Carr, since he seems to be the only other FA CB we're targeting. Why is there no talk about Richard Marshall btw? I assume I didnt miss him getting (re)signed by the panthers or some other team?

niners fans pissed at our front office for not getting nnamdi are idiots. people don't understand that money isn't the only thing. sure, if it was the niners offering $13 mil and the next closest team offering $5 mil then it is about money. but if the niners/texans are offering $13 mil and the jets/eagles are offering $12 mil, who do you think he's going to go to? nothing that can be done.

we need to pickup a cb somewhere, another lineman, a wr and another LB. then we need to get gore in camp. after that i will be satisfied with rolling the dice in the nfc west. no team in this division is any good so i'll take our chances if we can fill a few spots

Marriage does slow you down, but it won't matter because with our secondary no one is going to be scoring much anyways.

Ben just has to go into Brady mode and drive for some field goals in the second half and let our defense and special teams do the rest. Suisham is the new Vinatieri and Gay is the new Nnamdi.

Cassel was and still is a bum. It seems teams the West of both conferences like to pay big money for shitty qbs. Kolb is the same as Cassel though Cassel has proven more and that ain't a lot.

Rivers is only a playoff bum. At least the guy can actually throw the ball and goes for it unlike those unproven guys who somehow trick teams in paying big money for them.

What was the Chargers deal last season?
Didn't watch any of their games.

Was that when their kicker missed a :jnc amount of Field Goals or was that 09?

I think Braylon should go there.

Their special teams were awful last year from what I remember. Vincent Jackson was holding out, suspended, or a little of both and that left Rivers with some awful receivers. I think the Chiefs tripleteamed Antonio Gates in their first game and no one else on the Chargers could catch a damn ball. That team gave us some hilarity though.
