Denver loves Orton.

He's matured. He hasn't had a nervous breakdown yet, that's progress.

If he cried in Nashiville when the fans boo'ed him how will he react in Philly when they cuss him and pelt him with snowballs?

Poor Orton, everywhere he goes they want to get rid of him.

Boiler up! :[

Unless your name is Elway Denver wants to get rid of everyone.

Coming from someone that lived there most my life, they're a bunch of entitled brats when it comes to their QB.

Anyways, can Cullen Jenkins play the 1 tech successfully?

The Saints board is going nuts over him now that Mebane has been signed. I feel like we definitely need some more DT help because we're thin in talent after our starting two. But i'm not sure what else is out there.

Isn't he a lot better than at least a third of the starters in the league? And definitely more useful than Tebow?

Comp Att Pct Yds Y/Att TD INT Rating
293 498 58.8 3,653 7.3 20 9 87.5

In 13 games, doesn't sound too bad to me?

Enjoy Tebow, Denver!

Your ceiling is 8-8.

And I'll gladly take it.

If Fox somehow manages to bring this team to 8-8, I'll send him a gift basket. Our schedule is brutal.

Well, the problem is that nobody knows what Tebow can really do.

Orton is pretty solid.
I think part of his problem before was that he was on the Bears. Once free of that QB doldrum he did pretty decently in Denver. Tim Tebow...well he seems to me like a less suicidal Vince young type.

any bronco gaffers? who would you prefer as qb? the T or Jack DanielsMcOrton?

I know that I'll get laughed at, but I would prefer Tebow to be running the show both in practice and in games. I think Orton showed his peak in an offense built by McDaniels to be pass oriented. It won't be that way this year under Fox. In addition to that Orton isn't much of a dynamic playmaker (can't scramble, will always take the safe option of 3rd or goal line), and I don't see him as the future of the franchise.

I'm not sure Tebow is the future either, but I feel that you have to put him out there and see what he has. If he's not what you want this season, trade, cut, or make him the back up.

Personally, I feel that under Tebow you might have the future, but under Orton you know that he's not it. It's not worth it to waste the season under Orton, plus if we get rid of him we clear the cap space and we will find out what Tebow is good or bad.

I'm obviously typing on a phone, if you can't see it was meant to be comprehension then you're more of a lost cause than I thought.

If anything I feel more confident in getting the two lion wins than anything else. Yeah they have a great d-line, show me you can do something with it. Let's not forget its still about the entire team. The bears were still coming together the first game and the second time around took care of business. It might not be as easy but they haven't proven shit.

for god sake, you played against the 2nd and 3rd string quarterback for the lions and should have lost the first and almost lost the other.

He'll it seem every game bears played last year was against someone backup qb. Bears biggest win last year was against Philly, and they deserve credit for it. But please.

I think he was joking. It's funny that the Falcons sort of have to be the "big regression" team by default, because the NFC West was so awful that regression is impossible and for the favorites (Eagles, Packers) regression is improbable. The Falcons have a great nucleus on offense, solid defense. But I guess they did win 14 (13?) games last year, can't really improve on that.
The Falcons had the league low in penalties and were near the league low for turnovers, that has been a recipe for disaster for teams in both the playoffs and the following season. Key examples, the 2008 Dolphins and Giants were bounced in the first week of the playoffs and were terrible in 2009. Further, the 2010 Pats were the team with the lowest turnovers and got promptly knocked out of the playoffs.

Penalties (holding and such) as well as takeaways and turnovers can be used as a measure of luck in football. It's not crazy to say that the Falcons and Pats were two of the luckiest teams last season. I expect the Pats not to win the same amount they won last year, but there's no one I see in the AFC that will step up to take that playoff spot from them.

Also, the NFC South got to play the NFC West last season, this year the NFC East gets that benefit. The Falcons went 4-0 against the NFC West, as did the Bucs, and the Saints went 3-1. Forgetting the Panthers for a second, no division was dominated quite like the NFCW was. This season they play the north, should be a much tougher challenge.

No, not really. I think your post is pretty logical.

Orton's numbers from last year are greatly inflated because he was playing from behind most of the time, and defenses were quite soft at that point.

Orton's defining moment last year was his inept 4th quarter against the Jets.

Leading the Broncos on a big drive then fumbling the snap on the next drive when they're within one score.

Sums up Kyle Orton's career.

As a Bears fan, I totally understand your point. Replace Tebow with Grossman, and this was my thought process a few years back. Orton can win, though not last year, but he isn't going to step up and lead a team to a win.

The Ravens are reportedly "very close" to re-signing free agent CB Chris Carr.
We wonder if a deal with Carr might lead to Domonique Foxworth's release. Foxworth is due $4.4 million coming off a torn ACL. Carr has been unable to land a starting job on the open market. The Jets settled on Donald Strickland instead.

FML Jets are going to be paying Cro 10Mil I bet. The sign Moss for like 2Mil. Unreal how bad this is going to turn out.

Dumb question, but how did Nnamdi Asomugha get so good? I was reading up on his wiki to see if there was anything on the subject and some weird stuff came out:

1) He was actually a college safety and converted to CB.

2) Didn't play much in his first 2 seasons

3) He recorded way more tackles and a couple of sacks early in his career

4) He is huge for a CB, 210 lbs.

He did play opposite Charles Woodson for a while. Did he learn his craft from the master?

I'm not completely sold on Tebow, but those three games last year were more exciting than all the Orton games combined. I feel that even though it was a meaningless game, the win over the Texans made me feel like he earned a shot to run the team.

I was there at that game, just to see Tebow in person. He didn't disappoint. The guy just has a lot of energy and the players respect him.

Give him a season and see what he does. If he shits the bed, then go for Andrew Luck.

Lucky... I haven't been to a game since around 2001, when I moved out of Denver. I'm more than willing to give him a year at the helm or even a couple if he is making progress. I just hope that Elway, Fox, and Xanders are on the same page.

As a side note do you post on BroncosCountry as Ch1ggs? Lurk there from time to time.

He failed his conditioning test, so he can't practice yet. Not a huge deal, we'll see if he takes weeks to get in shape like he did with the Redskins.

LOL not again. Its a huge deal in the sense that it has shown he hasn't changed a damn bit. He didn't want to train with Redskins instead with his personal trainer to bring him back to his Pro Bowl Titan ways but instead the he got ridiculed in the media for failing his conditioning tests. I doubt the man changed but at least you didn't give him $100 million contract.
