The Rams just signed Justin Bannan.

I shit you not, the Broncos really don't have defensive line. Now, I know that seems like an obvious statement considering the week 7 game against Oakland, but I really mean it: I think we have 1 defensive lineman at this point.

Hey, horseface, what the fuck are you doing?

Tell me more about this Bunkley fellow...

As Yankee said, he shows flashes of being great but not consistent. doesnt play to his size. Good pickup for a 5th rounder

Hopefully for the Browns this trade lights a fire under his ass, because he has the tools to be a good DT.

most lineman, or players for that matter, have the tools to succeed in this league. some guys just don't have what it takes mentally to do it

That is true I cant argue that at all. I always liked Bunk so I do hope he gets it together.

I don't see it.
Play the NFC West + will likely win division = first round bye. If Vick is healthy come playoff time who's better?

(the Packers, I hope, but it's too hard to judge how we're going to replace Jenkins, whether Woodson/Driver can hold up for another year, etc)

This is the case with pretty much all sports. Any qb can make a throw but you have to have the mental ability to be able to read defenses and to make throws consistently in pressure.

I still like the Falcons and Packers over the Eagles. Splashy free agent moves don't really impress me. More than that, Vick doesn't impress me over a full season. They did nothing to take the full weight of the offense off of his shoulders, and I don't think he can handle it.

are you telling me you think the niners aren't getting HFA throughout the playoffs? lololllllllll

Lesean McCoy is the real deal and the Eagles are stacked with offensive weapons. They need to get Watkins into camp and maybe add a solid O-lineman to play tackle, but how is it all on Vick? Maclin, Jackson, McCoy, Avant, Plaxico (Maybe), Young (They can play all three QBs now). The Eagles have a good defense now. Last year their pass defense was last in the league. How does that my take the pressure off Vick. The Eagle offense was top 3 last year. Now their defense is modestly a top 10 defense on paper. How are they not better than a team that took the eventual SB champion to the last play of the game?

the eagles have good CB's. everything else the jury is out on. their lb's are garbage, safeties aren't very good, and their defensive line is suspect against the run.

on paper the eagles have a lot of big names and they obviously have to be talked about coming out of the NFC but they still need to play the games

Packers are the deserving favorites until further notice.

There's a group of Eagles, Saints, Falcons, Giants thereafter in some order - knock on wood regarding injuries.

I'd say something about the Eagles having garbage linebackers, but that's always been Reid's MO in Philly. They spend money and draft picks on the line* (Douglas, Kearse, Cole, Patterson, Bunkley) and secondary** (Dawkins, Vincent, Jones -> Sheppard and Brown -> Now Aso, DRC, Samuels). Then they put a thumper in the middle of the defense (Trotter, now Bradley) and put journeymen around him.

Trotter was a good 2 down linebacker, but that's the only name I'm coming up with off the top of my head. Stewart Bradley's alright when healthy. Dhani Jones, Williams, Gaither, Matt [something].

*Not that they all worked out.
**They were a good duo in the mid-2000s, especially when Michael Lewis played over his head and Dawk was a monster.

I like that the Eagles are making big splashes. More things to take away attention from the Super Bowl Champeens repeating.

uh, yeah. there is a 0% chance the packers are repeating. doubt they even make the playoffs to be honest.

p.s. james jones signs with niners!

It's going to be fun to see how much betters the Panthers could possibly be this year. The same team that couldn't beat Todd Collins who threw 4 ints with <2 ypa in 2010. Could be quite the change.

They're still not ready to win the division or contend for the wild card.
The whole rookie QB who's not even a QB thing.

But they won't be the automatic two wins they were last year for everyone else in the division.

not really that shocking quite a few people were already thinking Samuel would be gone

It's not the fact that he could (will) be traded...it's that Carolina's interested (we do have a clear need though).

well camp is off to a good start
Assistant head coach/WR coach Jimmy Robinson was involved in a scary scene at practice where he was knocked to the ground during a special teams drill and was motionless for a few moments. His arms and legs have moved and he was mobilized and carted off the field by EMT and team medical staff.

The incident occurred when wide receiver Teddy Williams, the gunner was pushed to the sideline and into Robinson, who immediately hit the ground and was believed to be unconscious. He didn’t move his arms or legs for about a minute before finally moving his arms. He tried to sit up at one point but was advised to lay back down where he was then mobilized on a stretcher.

As practice stopped, most of the team and coaches had surrounded the scene with obvious concern. Jason Garrett, who played with the Giants while Robinson was an assistant coach, remained at Robinson’s side the entire time, even once practice resumed again.

Robinson was able to talk to Garrett and owner Jerry Jones. Garrett actually had a smile on his face as Robinson was eventually carted off through the end zone and likely headed to a nearby hospital.

This is Robinson’s first season with the Cowboys after spending five years in Green Bay, fresh off helping the Packers win the Super Bowl.

The Eagles apparently have cap credit from last year. When asked if they have cap flexibility to sign more players Joe Banner said "Hell Yeah!"

Scott Hanson said Howie Roseman was being interviewed got a phone call and sprinted to get away from reporters. Ike Reese says that Plaxico Burress is a "real possibility" accordng to sources. The Eagles have been Cap champions for so long. They've been saving credit to go for it this year.

Yeah it looks like after being cap champs or always taking a conservative approach to FA for the past decade the Eagles are going all out. Wish they were like this earlier too. Always felt like we were always a little away from a SB and they relied too much on their overrated draft picks.

Former 1st round pick. Too bad he never materialized. At the time I thought he would solve our run D up the middle problem for a decade but he got pushed around way too often.

Packers yes. But Falcons? Not saying they won't be good but why? Yeah the Eagles offense will be once again pass happy with Vick having to do it all without a running game BUT at least this time the defense should be much better. Remember the Eagles had the worst red-zone D last year and the worst in their own history. If that alone is fixed the offense's over reliance on Vick and the passing game shouldn't be as much of a problem.

Of course dream scenario would be Reid finally running the ball 20-25 times a game.

LBs are garbage yes but they drafted 3 LBs. So what if 2 of them were in the 6th and 7th round?!?!?!?!?

Jokes aside, the CBs just improved, DT and DE were upgraded, and the kid at safety they drafted is supposed to be a big time hitter.

Fingers crossed.
