Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage

And that natural center to take over.

Bears are trolling chicago...

It's almost as if Matt Millen is running the Bears franchise. He did almost the exact same thing when he came to Detroit.

Maybe he can play center.
i would love this move if the bears had a fucking oline.

what is the point of getting a power runner when he can't run between the tackles? ugh.

Has any site done a list of winners/losers in FA yet?

Winners:

Eagles - WTF

Broncos (their non-signings are part of their Suck for Luck strategy)

Losers:

Miami - Matt Moore and Chade Henne? Really?

Maybe he can play center.

Why? Why? Probably our most solid position and we sign him so he can get on the field for 2 or 3 plays a game? CONCENTRATE ON MORE IMPORTANT SHIT, JERRY.

That's great and all, if we had an O-Line. Is there anyone left to sign to improve it at all besides Olin?

Confirmed now, as #Bears free agent C Olin Kreutz has begun telling teammates he will not be back. Connected to #49ers, keep updated.

Ugh.

Darn.

Forte was the most effective part of their offense.
When you drop coverage those check downs are money.

Why Big Mike never picked up on that little fact I dunno.

Bears need oline help. Kreutz is aging but he can still be a solid producer....so Chicago has a bunch of cap money and are going to let him walk. Smooth moves!

Why bring in Barber when you have the best option out of the backfield in the league? Barber is your 3rd down back? Seems a waste.

Because they don't know what the fuck they are doing. It's ridiculous.

They better have 1 or 2 OL signed by the end of tomorrow, can't keep letting them get away.

Anyone know of any good football podcasts?
Bill Simmons' football podcast during the season is entertaining (just ignore the disgusting Patriots talk). NFL Today (also at ESPN) is decent and pretty thorough at getting through all of the relevant news for the day.

especially in this offense. 3rd down is essentially "throw to TE or RB dump" with no line, Marion has no point of being on the team.

the cap space theyre "saving" is to give forte his money. i understand what theyre doing, but forte cant do shit if there isnt a line!

They are going to pay Forte $40m this year?

is that a serious question, or are you trolling?

they gotta re-up forte, bennet, garza, (these last two are probably gone) idonije, bowman.

that's a ton of money for three maybe four guys.

the niners prized FA signing will be a 34 year old center. go niners!!
Flozell Adams is available if the Niners are interested in more really old linemen. He can play both sides now thanks to his training with the Steelers!

I was just kidding but you cant seriously think the Bears are going to be anywhere near the cap this year.

nope, and i realized that you were kidding, hence why i deleted the idiot comment.

they really need to invest in some damn linemen tho. its really frustrating to watch.

What linemen options are even left?

And our backfield is seriously going to be Forte-Taylor-Barber (Or F-B-T?) I guess without a line we are going to need plenty of subs...

Martz new offense consists of three linemen, four wrs and 3 backs. No TEs.

The whole league will be copying it(after they make it legal)

i can dream right?

Some offensive line additions for the Giants and a TE.

The Giants signed G Chris White, G Brant Clouser and added TE Christian Hopkins.

The 6-2, 303-pound White is a seven-year veteran who played in six games for Seattle last year. He made eight starts for the Texans in 2009.

Clouser, a 6-2, 305-pound guard, started all four years at Villanova. He was named first team All-America and Colonial Athletic Conference first-team as a senior last year.

The 6-5 Hopkins is from the University of Toledo and played two seasons in the United Football League.

Former Texan/Seahawk. Anyone have comments on the guy? Good? Bad?

Also, I like seeing stuff like the Barber signing happening. The RB market is THIN. Which means Bradshaw's going to have to swallow some of that money he thinks he's going to make and take what the Giants are offering.
