don't hate!

in all honesty edwards is a great pickup for us. guy had 4 drops last year. he was 11th in the league in YPC.... in the horrible jets offense. just need alex to play like he does in 2 minute situations. not sure why we don't run more no-huddle with alex. everytime he is forced into that he tears people up.... until chilo rachal (or kwame rachal, as he likes to be called) grinds things to a halt. at the very least we should get some more reverses in the gameplan!

donte whitner is what we need at SS: a guy who can tackle and hit some people. i felt like that was missing last year. reggie smith is a more natural FS to be honest. he has much better play making abilities than goldson.

i'm not sure i even want goldson back. you can never have too many DB's but it's just not going to be worth it. i am extremely pleased with our free agent signings. we do need to pickup a veteran QB though.... not very comfortable with alex smith and 2 rookies going into the season. but it's slim pickins out there for qb's..... doubt we could get bulger out of retirement to learn a new system anyways.
Agree with you about Smith over Goldson at FS for sure. Just thinking Goldson on the cheap wouldn't be so bad, and if Mays, who has more pull in the market, can get us something else we need, I like that set up.

And I gotta say, I'm giving Alex my full support, as insane as it may seem. I think he's way better than the systems we've had made him out to be. 7 OC's in 7 years is insane. We'll see, I could eat my words, but hell, at least it's just a one year contract.

He has to know this is his FINAL shot at being a starter in the NFL. Ever.

You're lucky Taylor Mays can't read this.

people like to make fun of alex because of his small hands and #1 pick status but he hasn't been awful, just mediocre. his main problem is his accuracy. balls just seem to sail on him. probably has to do with poor footwork but if you take a look at a lot of interceptions he has had it's because the ball just goes high, a receiver tips it up, and boom it's picked. hopefully harbaugh can steady him because he can be a productive qb but i just don't think he will ever be great. if anyone can get mileage out of him it's harbaugh but we'll see

I'd keep Mays for special teams play. I think there were a couple of games last year where poor kick coverage and returns cost the Niners a win. Mays is ideal for that sort of stuff.

No doubt the higher post count correlates to reaction image posts of FMT Alyssa Milano fantasies.

I think it's a fairly good rating system.

I wouldn't fuck her
I'd fuck her
I'd rail the shit out of her
I'd let her sit on my face
I'd let her shit on me

The recently finalized CBA reportedly includes authority to conduct HGH testing.  And that’s not sitting well with one of the NFLPA’s player representatives.Titans guard Jake Scott calls the process a “witch hunt,” according to Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com.

Fucking science, how does it work?!

FMT, give me the rundown on who the Niners signed the last 2 days (or cut) besides Edwards.

It will be awesome to see Edwards no longer drop balls. Can't drop what sails 10 yards over your head!

(actually, I like the signing)

1. we replaced david baas (average center on his best day) with hunter goodwin (former probowl center for the saints) at a cheaper price.
2. we replaced nate "bitey" clements for carlos "bitey" rodgers. push
3. signed SS donte whitner (former bill) thus signaling the end of the dashon goldson era. you'll get that eric weddle money from someone D-gold!
4. braylon edwards signs today and practices today
5. madieu williams, former vikings safety and jay cutlers bitch, signed as insurance for a million dollars

not much else to talk about. really pumped about the season with these additions. alex was back at camp today and looking good. you can really see the difference between a veteran like alex and a rookie like kaepernick. that is why i laugh when these jokers want CK starting. he's not ready. don't do to him what we did to alex and throw him into the fire early. some guys can handle that but some guys are better sitting for a year or two.

frank gore is looking dominant in camp. aldon smith is the greatest pass rusher since lawrence taylor. reggie smith has picked off 75 passes since camp opened. patrick willis is feeling "healthier than he ever has before". and every other camp cliche you can think of

Don't get me too hyped. I was hyped last off-season. :(

I have a feeling the NFC North is going to decimate itself.

Im still holding out hope that the Vikings can pull off a decent season.

Well, as long as Stafford and Fairley make it through the season ... Lions should be competitive at the very least.

Saints visited with Olin Kreutz today. Probably to give Matt Tennant some veteran knowledge to help him take over the starting spot.

Rudolph and Shiancoe is going to be a nice duo at TE. I enjoyed those times with Shockey and Campbell for NY. Now there is... Travis Beckum? -_-

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
Skip Bayless is sitting in on Mike and Mike this morning and said that Donovan McNabb will lead the Vikings to the playoffs this year.

I'm thinking of the NFL logo, but instead of NFL put GAF. Then swap the football at the top with a GAF logo. When I get move out of my Ex Gf's place this weekend I'll try some mock ups asap.

So he took a page out of the old Brian Cushing-book, did he? :jnc

Just kidding. You guys got better with the signings of the last few days, that's for sure. Doubt it's enough for you, but better than before.

Unfortunately, this thread is already over limit, and with preseason coming up there will have to be a new thread.

You DO NOT NEED DIRECT TV. To watch NFL Sunday TIcket. Just couple of days ago I purchased NFL Sunday Ticket for this upcoming season.

It is hidden within direct tv page. But you can google to its link. The cost is 350 dollars in one payment. While checking out you just have to check on a box that says you cant have direct tv because its not allowed etc.

After that you are good to go. You can download the App or watch it on your pc.

See I am considering it but living in NYC, I do get to see about half the Eagles games if not more on TV anyway. The two Giants games (that's why I hate it when they show those on national tv) and about 4-5 National games with some random sundays when they show the Eagles game at 1 or 4 while the Giants play at another time. I am thinking for me its not worth it. Still tempting.

Am I completely insane to think that now that Childress is gone, Berrian will suddenly become "healthy" and productive? I could see the guy getting 800+ yards this year, and I'd be very happy with that.

If we re-sign Camarillo, I'm honestly fine with the WR corps of Berrian/Harvin/Jenkins/Camarillo. It's nothing spectacular, but it'll get the job done. Musgrave is going to run a lot of 2TE sets anyway, and Rudolph has been looking like a beast in practice.

Huge IFs, but I'm excited to see what Gerhart/Berrian/Jenkins/Rudolph will do in this offense.

edit:

Also love the Charlie Johnson signing and Mount McKinnie cut. Apparently McKinnie was past 400 pounds and his doctors say his cholesterol is so bad that he should take time off from football. Fuck that shit. And if Charlie Johnson can protect Manning, he can protect McNabb. It's not like we've got a lot invested in that guy.

What veteran linebackers are still available? I'd love to throw some money at Lofa Tatupu. And I'd give Dashon Goldson 5yr/50 mil (42 guaranteed) to come to Minnesota.

Good that you are optimistic but I think Manning protects himself the best and makes his OLINE look better than it is. He gets rid of the ball very quick, knows where he is going right away, and doesn't allow the pressure to even formulate. Charlie Johnson might be good/decent but I bet Manning made him look better than he is. And with McNabb...I love the guy...but he doesn't get rid of the ball fast, takes his sweet time, and can't scramble and get away from the pressure like he used to.

If Bears regress and Lions are still dealing with injuries to their first and second QBs then maybe.

Robert Quinn contract, and a few of their undrafted FA contracts, had to be reworked b/c league office rejected it.

I get bad vibes from Quinn. Screwed around at NC and hasn't played a down since 2009. Hurt knee somehow in offseason. Changed agents, delaying ability to negotiate contract. Old agent suing him. New agent agrees to deal that violates CBA (obviously Rams front office putting clauses in contracts that violate rules is a red flag for their competence)

Also, lol a Stephen Jackson

Though the addition of Williams and Norwood should allow Jackson, 28, to get off the field for a few more plays each game, Jackson wouldn't go so far as to say that their presence would lengthen his career.

"I think that Dahl addition lengthens my career," he said. "But I'm really excited about the additions at running back. They're going to help us get better."

I'm just gonna add that I'm happier with Rogers than Clements. He's not as strong on the tackle, and we'll be painfully watching him drop 5-8 sure fire interceptions this year, but he's faster and much better on coverage.

Overall it is a push, but I think Rogers provides more to the system Harbaugh is creating than Clements did.

The NFL GAFship is leaning and we cant let it go all Titanic on us.

Holy shit, one more week until football. This is worse than a kid waiting for Christmas.

The Bryant McKinnie money has to go somewhere. Add 2 of these guys and reload in the next draft.

I think the McKinnie cut went a long way to getting us under the cap. I'm not sure there's a pile of money laying around.

I love the move too.
