The Packers have denied the Bears permission to interview QBs coach Tom Clements for Chicago's offensive coordinator vacancy.

F the pack!

We have an Offensive Line Coach if you want to interview him. I'll be to hook it up with MM.

Saturday

Cards @ Saints- With a finally healthy secondary for the first time since november, plus Shockey back on offense for the first time in a month the Saints will come out and look like the team that thrashed opponents for the first 11 weeks of the season. Zona will put up points surely but the Saints will be too fresh and too much at home.

Ravens @ Colts- We've seen the same story a thousand times before, Colts rest players, Colts lose first playoff game. All some teams need to do is get in the playoffs and they're not going to be denied from getting to the Super Bowl, the Ravens have that swagger about them. They're RB's are super impressive, while the passing game is rather shaky, but as long as they hold onto the ball it will be a very close game (just like the one earlier in the year) the Ravens will actually pull it out this time. The Colts have owned them the past 7 years, but just like how Baltimore destroyed their Patriot demons, they will do the same to Indy.

Sunday

Cowboys @ Vikings- Favre never beat the Cowboys in the playoffs, that was ancient history but something that Favre surely wants to get off his back. If Peterson gets on track and Favre doesn't go INT crazy like we've all seen before then Minny should squeak one out.

Jets @ Chargers- These AFC wildcard team just seem like they are on a mission right now. Revis will shut down Jackson and the defense will stop the Charger running game. The key will be Gates and Sproles, if the Jets can stop them its their game. As long as the Jets do not have to play catch up the entire game then they can control it with their running game.

Not a surprise between division rivals. The Bears are suddenly running low on OC candidates, having lost out on Charlie Weis, Jeremy Bates, and now Clements. Clements' return to Green Bay is good news for Aaron Rodgers.

Or they will be to out of sync since there starters havent play in a while.

Saturday

Cards @ Saints- Time for more Kurt Warner magic.

Ravens @ Colts- 30 yards passing isn't going to get it done against a real team.

Sunday

Cowboys @ Vikings- My brain tells me Favre will get flustered and throw a lot of picks, but my heart is praying the Cowboys lose.

Jets @ Chargers- It will be a close game, but the bolts are too talented for the Jets.

What I want:
Saturday

Cards @ Saints
Ravens @ Colts

Sunday

Cowboys @ Vikings
Jets @ Chargers

What will happen:
Saturday

Cards @ Saints
Ravens @ Colts

Sunday

Cowboys
@ Vikings
Jets @ Chargers

Saturday

Cards @ Saints - Warner is God and the Saints are not that different from Green Bay. Just a bit worse.
Ravens @ Colts - Depending on Flacco's health, I guess.

Sunday

Cowboys @ Vikings - Cowboys aren't that good, the Eagles made them just look good. Vikings win this easily.
Jets @ Chargers - So do the Chargers.

:lol So true.

The only way Revis is even a footnote in the game is if Rivers does what he usually does with his wideouts and just loft up balls with reckless abandon.

And, btw, the Bengals were running all over the Jets. I don't even know why they were passing so fucking much. Benson was getting 8 yards a carry, but they were using him somewhat sparingly in the middle of the game when Palmer was playing like dog shit (no offense to dog shit). It boggles the mind.

It bothers me that the Vikes organization/local sport writers/local talk radio/fandom seem to want to paint themselves as the scrappy underdogs that nobody is giving a shot to win. Why in the fuckity fucking fuck do you want to view yourself that way?!? This isn't The Mighty Fucking Ducks. If you want to be Super Bowl champs, how about having a little bit of confidence? If we're nothing but a rag tag band of misfits, fat kids, the token minority kid, and other random underachievers then we're in fucking trouble.

Jesus fucking Christ we're going to get killed if that's our attitude.

Well in that case, I hope that this weekend the Vikes team can overcome our differences, accept the limitations of others and learn the value of working together as a team, in having pride in hard work, in finding the value in friendship, and maybe get a little lesson in love.

I don't disagree, Gates and Sproles are the keys to the game. If the Jets find a way to stop/limit them, they win. Not an easy task at all, but the Jets pass defense was #1 in the league by miles.

I just don't see the Jets stopping Rivers. Manning didn't put up amazing numbers in the three quarters he played against them, but he was moving the ball pretty effectively. Any team with more than two solid targets to pass too and a good qb shouldn't have much trouble.

Chargers rely heavily on passes to Sproles, Gates, and passes to guys like Naanee short over the middle off PA. Wide Receivers like Jackson and Floyd are good, but they do not see the amount of targets as many other 1-2 WR's have. The receivers lead the league in catches per first-down attempt, also.

Colts have the QB and offense to have success vs. the Jets, I think. Chargers should, as well, but a lot depends on guys like David Harris, Kerry Rhodes, and Bart Scott defending Sproles/Gates.

Woodson wins DPOY

Green Bay cornerback Charles Woodson has won The Associated Press 2009 NFL Defensive Player of the Year award.

The versatile Woodson tied for the league lead with nine interceptions, returning three for touchdowns, and was a key to the Packers' turnaround on defense.

His role in Green Bay's performance -- second in the league in overall defense, first in interceptions (30), takeaways (40) and turnover margin (plus-24) -- earned Woodson 28 votes from a nationwide panel of 50 sportswriters and broadcasters who cover the NFL.

He doubled the number of votes for New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis in becoming the first Green Bay winner since Reggie White in 1998 and just the second Packer in the 36-year history of the award.

Has OPOY been announced? Two well deserved winners so far in Peyton earning the MVP again, and Woodson capturing the Defense POY.

I don't know how Revis doesn't get that, but then my lasting memory of Woodson for the year is him falling on his bottom and chasing after wide open receivers.

Ron Winters is the head official for Saints/Cards game, get ready for a flag fest. You might recall he was the official for Ravens/Patriot Gate, where Brady got a flag after asking for it.
