The Chiefs also cut 20 other players to trim their roster to 53 by Saturday's deadline. The list included Casey Printers, a former Canadian Football League star who had been projected as the third quarterback.

The Chiefs also released wide receivers Brad Ekwerekwu, Chris Hannon and Ean Randolph; safety Marlon Fair; defensive tackles Kiki Gonzalez and Patrice Majondo-Mwamba; fullback Gilbert Harris; defensive ends Michael Heard and Montez Murphy; guards Rob Hunt and Tre Stallings; tackle James Newby; running back Marcus O'Keith; cornerbacks Justin Phinisee and Will Poole; linebackers Nick Reid and Rich Scanlon; quarterback Jeff Terrell; and tight end Keith Willis.
Ok.
Printers is going back to the CFL. That's cool; he didn't fit in our system and would be more like
Vick Lite, and KC doesn't really need a running back with an arm. The troubling thing is that they also let go of Jeff Terrell (our Princeton QB). What's the problem with that? Uh...that leaves us only TWO freaking quarterbacks dude! And we all know Herm's history with QBs. I guess that makes us major players in the Leftwich deal then. Or perhaps something else? Maybe Terrell makes the practice squad. My big problem with bringing in Leftwich is that it messes up an already messed up situation. More average qb's just makes it even harder when somebody goes down, and even harder for the young kid (croyle) to gain confidence. Ugh.
Disappointed to see Hannon (WR) go, too. Thought he had a great preseason if not a great camp, and Brodie had developed some chemistry with him. We knew Randolf was a goner once we got the guy out of Detroit to return kicks. Pretty much every one else was expected.
KC's 10 Big Questions of the Moment
1. QB - Can Huard do as well this year, this time as the starter? First time in 11 years. Can Brodie overcome any possible veteran signings that might hurt his ego (Leftwich)? Can either survive behind a suspect offensive line?
2. RB - How quickly can LJ be in 25-28 carry shape? Hopefully quickly. Can Bennett legitimately take 10-15 carries per game w/o getting hurt? Can our new kid Kolby Smith make any impact at all? Doesn't look like Boomer Grigsby got cut, so that means we got ourselves a real bruiser at fullback, fellas.
3. Offensive Line - McIntyre should be back for week 1, right? RIGHT? We'd better hope so. His replacement, Svitech, has been given the nickname HIGHWAY 71.
4. WR - Couple new cats in town. Bowe was our number 1 this year and looks to contribute immediately. Sippio looks like he can catch some hella slants (thanks to Terrell). Kennison is the best 10 yard-out runner in the league. Webb and Parker are major suspects.
6. D-Line - Can Tank & Turk and the most underrated player on the team, Wilkerson, stop the run? Hali and Allen are too busy eating quarterbacks for breakfast.
7. LBs - Johnson, Harris, and Edwards are fine. But what about K Bell? The cover 2 requires them to occasionally drop into coverage...and bell is a complete liability in coverage. Can this be addressed through proper play calling?
8. D-backs - Law, Surtain, Pollard and Page will be fine. But the Herm's style of cover 2 has a lot of subbing in and out. Can Page find a way to tackle consistently and Law find his footing? What about Wesley? We're supposed to be trading him...and it's a week until game 1.
9. Kicker - Holy shit we got a problem guys. Our kicker was 50% in preseason games. THAT IS NOT GOOD, especially for an offense that more or less prides itself in getting to the 35 yard line. We need an answer, and we need it now.
10. Offensive Play Calling - Solari. Get that name in your heads, because if KC explodes with an offense you could never have imagined, he can take the credit. Otherwise, it's his ass. We can not continue to play RUN RUN PASS and be expected to do anything.
Answer these few questions and we have a legitimate shot at a 10-win season. Seriously.
