just depends on what you're talking about. i think the best pure runner is AP, best blocker in the passing game is marion barber, best receiver is brian westbrook, etc.
if you say someone is a top rb you should take into consideration all things!
My order goes like this:
1: LT. He does everything great (even passing!). He has a slow start going but ill attribute that to his injury.
2: Brian Westbrook. Might be a little biased but he is great. Great Pass protector, Great Runner, And the best catching RB in the league.
After this it gets a little fuzzy
3. Frank Gore/SJax: Ill cop out and give a tie to these too. Both are all around great players. I think Jax will get better as the year goes on. Injures are a concer but he had like 1600/800 a few years back. i dont chalk that up to luck
5. Marion Barber: If he can do it as a starter this year like he did as a back up last year, then he moves up to #3 on my list. i need to see consistency before i put him in the top 3. and i do think he can do it
AP is just out of the top 5. if he can get the pass protection and his receiving skills down then he would knock Gore or Jax out of the top 5. He reminds me of what Westbrook could have been if he were a bit taller and a bit bigger.
Clinton Portis SHOULD be in the top 5. he is actually one of my favorite running backs to watch when he gets space. He has all the tools to be a top 3 RB but the injury factor really hurts him
