Seattle are tough in Seattle, but are a different away team.

Still, I wouldn't overlook them.

Rome is a douche either way.

True on all counts.

if Seattle would have played the Giants in the playoffs instead of the stupid Packers last season. We'd be the Superbowl winners right now. GUARANTEED! Fuck yo team

leonard little on the trading block.

be careful when you drive home tonight, he could be coming to your town

Maybe the Bucs can trade for him so he can be Jerramy Stevens' designated driver.

Hopefully we can return the favor week 6.

not that a reg season game makes up for it

Honestly? Up until the start of the regular season I always thought that was going to be a loss. Now? You look kind of banged up in all facets :/

Anything can happen though.

The bengals should seriously trade chad johnson and/or levi jones for (receiver) roy williams now that millen is gone.

instead, they'll probably hire some washed-up veterans to a big deal.

The Bengals will never do anything right until the Brown regime ends in Cincinnati. Mike Brown has always been about the money, and the only way he would actually field a decent team is if his organization starts to lose money. Cincinnati will never win a Super Bowl, much less even play in one, while Mike Brown calls the shots.

soulja i feel bad for your team. you guys are god awful. if you want to go out on our bet i won't think any less of you. team has obviously quit on your coach. that's not really a fair bet :/

so i give you this one opportunity to call the bet off for this season. if i dont get a response within 24 hours then the bet stays and you can send the $40 paypal tomorrow. :D

I think it was the first week, you posted after the conclusion of the NYG-WAS game so I couldn't give you that one.
Yep, I know why that one was missed. But you shorted me another from last week... have me at 11-4 instead of 12-4.

Alexis Smif is on IR

fair enough soulja! but be warned, it wont be pretty. you saw what martz did to detroit, and the way they treated him is only a fraction as bad as what the rams did to him. godspeed old friend, i am sorry for what is to come.

i never wanted him gone, georgia said he'd be her coach for as long as she lived. well she lied, and look what happened to her! mad mike doesnt play around.

Me too. I would rather had Lovely Smith coach the team and have Martz run the offense.

i was baffled when the rams fired martz. seemed like such a good fit. but as cinderella says, don't know what you got till its gone. i bet the rams would gladly put up with their qb getting killed and timeouts being uselessly burned in favor of something resembling nfl football!

p.s. it's probably because of martz, but JTO looks almost idential to bulger in his throwings motion and footwork

We'll see. Engram and Branch should be back after the bye week, the running game is getting a lot better, and the defense should be fine anyway. I still think we have a good shot at winning the division. And considering the schedule, 8-8 might be enough this year. :lol

Seriously shocked at the state of the AFC right now. Seriously.

I don't think there's much reason to be. Looking division by division, it looks how it should have looked. The AFC North was projected to have no really good teams, maybe a 9-7 division winner. Right now there are two teams with good records and two horrible teams. The AFC East has one undefeated teams and a bunch of mediocre, Brady's injury changed who the team was but the Bills look great. Plus, the Jets or Dolphins may still end up being the 8-8 kind of team that Buffalo was supposed to be while NE had a great record. The AFC West has San Diego who always starts slow and Denver who is on a record setting offensive pace. The south is really the only big surprise, and with the injuries to the Colts and Jaguars, people should have seen this coming also. Both teams will likely rebound and end up decent to good.

It's way too early to say that the AFC is weak right now, and though I'd argue it is too early to say the NFC is particularly strong it certainly does appear to be better than expected. Early indications are the gap is closing and the NFC might be better, but it isn't because the AFC is significantly worse than predicted. It's that different teams than expected are doing very well in the AFC and people don't know whether they are for real yet. The NFC powerhouses were expected to be good and they turned out to be excellent.

You're right, my bad. I was going kinda fast since I had a meeting I had to get to. Sorry about that, I updated my post!

And to those that have forgot to post their predictions here but did make them in the confidence league unfortunately I'm not in the confidence league so I can't verify those picks. If someone wants to verify them for me I can make the changes but I had originally just been tallying them from these threads. That way people that hadn't signed up for the Yahoo thing or are like me and don't want to sign up for those since it drags down your Fantasy Rating (yeah, I'm a loser, I know), can still compete in some predictions.

I don't mind making the changes though for those few that just forgot. But I'd like to keep it to just the picks posted in these threads whenever possible.

the division is ours for the taking, and we're going to take it. we already went into your house and took care of business. now we're going to lay waste to the rest of the NFC in short fashion, with examples being made of philly and dallas along the way.

p.s. and the giants. we're going to kick the shit out of them for what they did to us last year. this will be for you, T-dill!

I'd rather you concentrate more on the holy campaign to humiliate Brett Favre. That alone will make this season one of legend!

Edit: Oh, nevermind, both of us aren't up for that kind of thing until December. :(

I got a text at work this morning at like 930am CST from my dad whos back in Detroit, with it type all caps "THEY FIRED MILLEN! YES!" I was happy at first but it's really just another red herring by William Clay Ford. You can't fire a GM in week 3, put his lackey in as his interim replacement, and then pretend that everything is hunky dory for 7 years of bullshit. Basically all this means is that short of a blockbuster trade for Roy Williams, which we absolutely SHOULD DO, is that the Lions are still fucked for at least the next five months. The only thing now is that the fans have reason to hope for what happens in 14 weeks, rather than begrudge it.

Basically what I'm saying is that firing Millen at this point changes NOTHING. The team is still garbage and the organization is still garbage and until the team is sold to someone who uses it as more than his pet ant farm, then nothing will ever really change. They were called by BILL PARCELLS last year, ASKING TO HAVE MATT MILLENS JOB, and they didn't even take the call! THEY IGNORE BILL PARCELLS! So really now.

If there are any other Lions fans reading this, please don't come around me saying how everything's gonna be alright. It's not. This team is still fucked and will still fail miserably FOR-EV-ER!

Remember week 1 when I said I felt betrayed like the guy who took his wife back who blew the neighbor, only to come in and see the Cash Money Millionaires running the train on her a week later? I've learned from it, ya know? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on... shame on... can't fool me 'gain. Get a GM who has a PROVEN TRACK RECORD who makes COMMON SENSE MOVES in the offseason and maybe, MAYBE i'll start buying Lions merchandise/tickets again and supporting their sponsors once more. But until then I'm sitting here like the kid in Jerry Maguire, keepin' it real and just assuming that the next guy mommy brings home isn't my real daddy either.

You're right, we have hope in 14 weeks, Millen being fired is a step in the right direction, his replacement may be better, may do the same lousy job or may be even worse, but it opens up a POSSIBILITY for improvement down the road.

I know, I agree. I'd think they should do everything to hire Bill Cowher as a coach but as a Lions fan I know it won't happen, either we won't call or he'll flatly refuse. As for GM... I don't know who I want yet, I'm still at the "IT'S NOT MATT MILLEN ANYMORE" stage so far, though my ideal today would be Scott Pioli, offer him 7 million dollars to do it (if we can pay Millen 5 million a year..., hell offer Pioli $10 million)

If there are any other Lions fans reading this, please don't come around me saying how everything's gonna be alright. It's not. This team is still fucked and will still fail miserably FOR-EV-ER!

It does seem that way, doesn't it? We haven't proven we can win in the last 50 years (ONE PLAYOFF WIN IN THAT SPAN ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME???) and until we do they don't deserve our belief. I think that we may get at least to the "good" old days pre-Matt Millen of a consistent 9-7/8-8 team so we'll be merely mediocre, it will probably take a couple years though. Beyond that? I need them to prove it to me.

Remember week 1 when I said I felt betrayed like the guy who took his wife back who blew the neighbor, only to come in and see the Cash Money Millionaires running the train on her a week later? It truly is battered wife syndrome, only for Lions fans. I want to believe in the Lions, and every year I get my hopes, my expectations WAYYY too high only to have them beaten down.

are the 9ers using Justin Smith in his one good role (run stuffing) or did his new proximity to the mexican border make it easier for him to get HGH so he could get the balls to actually sack a QB?

Fantasy question here, but does anyone think Stallworth is going to be worth a shit this year when he comes back? Supposedly he will play this week, and I fucked up my roster by picking up two guys with the same bye week, and I need to make room. /facepalm's his own actions

Question still stands, but apparently through more research concerning number of players I can hold at one position is one greater than I thought. So I de-facepalm myself and give myself a thumbs up.
