It's not going overboard when Italian blood runs through your veins. :)

I've seen enough Leafs in my lifetime not to get too excited over anything, especially not the last few seasons. Since getting married and having a kid, hockey isn't all that earth shattering anymore, I've lived my whole life without seeing the Leafs in the final, I can do another 20 years standing on my head easy. :lol

Enough chit chat though, gotta prepare for Sopranos tonight, the beginning of the end!!!

really you honestly are telling me you did not see Mcabe miss any assignments during the season? you did not see him get beaten by Forward?

i am not much of a Colaivacio fan but in terms of money he is definately more bang for buck than Mcabe.

they could re-air the last time the Leafs made the stanley cup final too. and hey, they could even colorize it!

:lol :lol :lol

I would love to get into confrontations with fans of other teams, particularly when Ottawa has been a playoff disgrace and a Leafs punching bag since the turn of the century, while 'Nuck Nation spent six long years trying to convince themselves that Dan Cloutier was anything more than Andrew Raycroft with an uglier goalie mask. But sane Leaf fans realize that we have no ammo...and going into a gun duel with no ammo is basically, well, dumb.

As a D-man, your job isn't to take them out of the play, or take the puck away. Your job is to dismantling their play until they screw up and give in. Attacks towards players and the puck is a risk move, and possibly opens up the play. McCabe sticks to his man and works the corners hard. Colaiacovo is the kind of player that floats around and a big question mark appears over his head when the player he was supposed to be covering actually scores.

I don't know how many times I see McCabe at the side of the net, some dickhead player out at the hashmarks standing there with the opposing team with control of the puck behind the net with McCabe trying to order said dickhead to sweep behind the net. Instead the guy just sits there, the play comes out the same side in-between McCabe and the other Leaf player and the goal is scored. Just because McCabe is the closest when that happens doesn't mean it's him blowing the defensive play.

You're one of the people who look for scapegoats.

uh NO. The way to dismantle the play is not to just sit back on one position and wait for the other team to screw up. You have to be in the right position anticipate and attack. MAcabe NEVER sticks to his man. He gets beaten around the corners all the time. Colaicovo floats just as much as macabe. He is always closest to the play because he usually gets beaten by the forward. He also make completely boneheaded play in the neutral zone at times.

also he was not an escape goat. He was a bad Jersey Signing. He is overpaid. Its that simple. The ownership needs to blow this team up and start from scratch. They will ofcourse never do this because sheep like you are happy with Mediocrity sprinkled with a faint sign of hope.

Ugh. If it was a man on man game, there wouldn't be systems. You hold them off, you don't take them out of the play.

The whole point of positional play is too get in the passing lanes and attack the player when available. Not to just wait around for the other team to make a misake. You logic is why leafs get into a shell when they have leads.

:lol Bastard...

BTW, Bryan McCabe is one of the most overpaid players in all of professional sports. I don't know how this is even a debate. If he was getting 3.5 to 4 mill, he wouldn't get nearly as much grief. Instead the Leafs bid against themselves and gave a one-dimensional 'defenseman' a stupid amount of money.

Guess that what happens when some people suggest he's a Norris trophy candidate with a straight face...

It's a shame that DiPietro isn't fully healthy because the Isles have the type of playoff time that would bring it every shift versus the Sabres. They'd pose more a problem than Montreal and the Leafs would combined...

EDIT: Watch as Souray becomes Bryan McCabe #2 this summer...

avs shit the bed :lol
oilers finally win a game once it doesn't mean shit :lol

Wow...

I though for sure after they blew the 2-0 lead with .7 seconds left that they were going to find a way to give it away in OT.

I know they will be lucky to win 1 game against the Sabres, but it's still great to see a team that NOBODY picked to finish higher that 14th in the Eastern Conference make the playoffs with their best player on the shelf.

DUBIE DUBIE DOOOO!

Let's not forget the length of the contract, either.

by the way leaf fans, you guys can argue about how great or terrible bryan mccabe is for the next few days all you want, but once the playoffs start, well

leafs just aren't invited

there will always be a team to give souray, jovanovski, and mccabe more money than they deserve

PUCK MOVING DEFENSEMAN is incredibly overrated if you don't have a solid back end to protect his errors.

i loved jovo when he was here, he brought a ton of heart and passion to the team, but that passion often blinds you to the numerous defensive errors (see: Dopeyfish re: McCabe) that he makes which pretty much offsets any offense production he creates.

i think i'm just spoiled with the Canucks defense, which is amazingly underrated league-wide thanks to people only seeing Luongo's spectacular saves.

How much do Duck playoff tickets go for?

Would they sell out right away?

You should be able to get shitty seats for around $75 USD.

As for sellouts, Anaheim has a well-earned reputation as a bandwagon town so they will go pretty fast. Try a third-party broker like Stub Hub or Barry's Tickets.
