Mike Works said:so barrage, you up for making an avatar bet? i don't want to do a banning bet since i'll still want to talk about the playoffs even if the canucks get eliminated in any round, but what say you to loser of the van/dal series has to use an avatar made by the winner for the rest of the playoffs (and has to continue posting in this thread)?
Barrage said:Agreed, only the winner doesn't have to make the avatar( because A) my Photoshop sucks, and B) I want to leave room open for any vengeful Leafs or Flames if they have good ideas :lol
Wednesday. It begins. No more Leafs or Habs bullshit. Just actual competent Hockey teams. I won't be at a computer for games 2 or 3, so i'll just have to comment on the massacre in B.C. on Wednesday, and the sweeping of the canuck refuge in game 4.
This should be fun.

Andrew Raycroft is not about to let his critics run him out of town.
"Without a doubt, there is no way I could have played here three or four years ago," Raycroft said last night. "I was too worried about what people thought about me. But I've developed a thick skin and realize you can't please everyone.
"You may hear some things, but all in all, there is not a better place to play than Toronto. It's special. The fans are amazing. They expect a lot but, at the same time, they'll come up to you at dinner and wish you the best."
Tough times aside, Raycroft tied Ed Belfour's single-season franchise record for wins.
"If you had told me before the season I would have 37 victories in 72 games, I would have taken it to the bank," said Raycroft, who had just eight wins with the Boston Bruins last season. "It was an up and down year for myself and the team, but we showed a lot of character.
"It has been a wild 48 hours. When Jersey scored in the last seconds, I thought it was in the cards for us. But now that we didn't make the playoffs, there will be finger-pointing out there. Whatever the case, I thought it was important to establish myself this season. And I feel I did that."
"I was bouncing out of my chair and screaming when the Devils tied it up in the final few seconds," a dejected Sundin said last night. "I really thought Jersey was going to pull it off because they are so good playing four-on-four (in overtime) and in shootouts."
Bryan McCabe can deliver on the power play but remains as erratic and unpredictable a defender as any 22-year-old in the league, and he will turn 32 in June.
Which brings us to goalie Andrew Raycroft.
So often in the past the Leafs have tried to artificially designate their stars by trading away significant assets to get them or by agreeing to large contracts.
Similarly, with Raycroft, the Leafs dealt away a top prospect to acquire him and then tried to convince the hockey world that he was a bona fide NHL starter capable of playing 70 games or more.
Goaltending stats told the truth all year, that Raycroft was among the least efficient of NHL starting goalies, but only by yanking him midway through the 82nd game of the year against Montreal did Maurice finally acknowledge what the rest of the hockey world had long realized.
The Leafs missed the playoffs for a number of reasons. But mediocre goaltending was clearly No.1 on that list.
If Ferguson isn't willing to acknowledge that the Leafs need to seriously upgrade at the most important position in the sport, then he should be fired.
Defence/goaltending, the area Ferguson thought he addressed last year with big-ticket trades and signings. Yet the Leafs' 269 goals-against was seventh worst in the league.
"That's an area we're going to continue to address," said Ferguson.
They know some of their teammates won't be back, but Wellwood hopes the architect of the team Ferguson will return.
"I don't think he's going to go anywhere," said Wellwood. "He's done a great job. He put a great team together. We played excellent at times and I think if we would have got into the playoffs, we would have been a tough team to beat."

Of course, the only players in NHL2k5 who are still on the Pens today are Ryan Malone, Marc-Andre Fleury and Josef Melichar, but who knows? Haha. I was playing with the likes of Lemieux, Fata, Abid, Pirjeta, Jackman, Tarnstrom, Kraft, Koltsov, and Dan freaking Focht.
