Ouch, only 14k in Nashville tonight :(

What will it take to get people in seats there? (outside of giving away the tickets)

QFT

Some great news for my day:
+Canadiens win
+Islanders win
+Lightning win
+Avalanche win in regulation
+Hurricanes are out of the playoffs, thank god what a joke of a team

Some bad news:
-Maple Laffs barely win against the Flyers
-Pens lose
-Devils win
-Wild win

The Pens' loss really stung tonight. I'll call it a misstep and hope they get their shit together by Thursday when they face the Sens. Not having a good feeling right now.

Good point, but still, a playoff bound team that's tops in it's conference should be pulling in atleast 2000 more, even against a shitty team.

i can't argue that. we're 21st in the league % wise, 3% behind carolina following a cup year. we really need a deep run to spark some corporate interest and get some butts in our lower bowl seats.

That's pretty pathetic as well, if they can't pull in more after they move to their new arena, I don't know what else could be done.

Doesn't matter, it's not like they have a full house playing any other team, their attendance is always in the 10k to 15k range.

If the Flames lose to the Sharks in their next game....

The Avs are hot and could beat both the Canucks and Preds.

The Oilers, then, could be inspired by playing the spoiler and beat the Flames.

The Flames lose to the Avs and miss the playoffs.

There is one major flaw in this, however. The Oilers have to win a game. They've lost, IIRC, 17 of their last 18 games.

If there is any team the Oilers have it left in them to put up a fight against - you bet that it's the Flames.

Battle of Alberta, here we go.

Nashville just isn't a hockey market
why do you pick at me so. the strives made here over the past 10 years or so are incredible. high school hockey is getting bigger and bigger in the area. it's insane how much youth hockey has increased over the years. more cities are wanting to build rinks for kids to play. it's coming around, it's just taking longer than expected.

so shut up.

Habs fans should be nicer to the B's, for if it wasn't for the B's tanking it these last few weeks, the Habs wouldn't even be in the race...

It's probably the biggest longshot in the whole scheme. Still, they've got to beat Vancouver first and Calgary has to lose to San Jose before we even get there.

Wow...just checking some stats and noticed how much the Habs suck on the road compared to at home:

Home:
26-12-3

Road:
16-20-3

Those little Hobbitants really grow some balls at home and sprout a vagina on the road, which is best exemplified by their "leader" and "captain"....

Koivu's stats:

Home:

GP-40
Goals-13
Assists-28
Points-41
-6

Road:

GP-39
Goals-9
Assists-21
Points-30
-15

:lol

I wish I had thought to check out stats like that for the Leafs so I could point it out to you and laugh in a girly way... oh wait I don't give a ****

One stats that you don't need to look too long for is that your playoff chances would be NULL if it wasn't for the fag OT loss point. You're better at losing than every team you're competing with, way to go!

Sorry if you feel ashamed to wear that size "extra small" Koivu jersey now....

You dont give a Shit but you decided to reply to him? :/

typical Hab logic.

His Koivu stats aren't even that bad away from home, if you don't count the +- which he's shitty in at home too. We're 8-2-0 in our last ten games, and that's what counts.

Well I only posted stats but they seem to have struck a nerve Manics. Is it my fault that Koivu has horrible road stats and is a detriment to his team? Now I can see why Guy Carbonneau chooses to bench him on the road. He is a fraud and far from a leader. At least Guy sees this and for that reason, I will at the very least consider him for coach of the year when I choose Paul Maurice.....

Well, let's hope you guys do stop the Koivu "ballwashing" now....then again you guys will find another player to jerk it to....

Not our fault if our team keeps winning, each night because of a different player having a good-to-great night. I'd say it says a lot about our depth. I'd rather have a reliable superstar, but we don't have that (yet).

That's what happens when your city is the hockey town and you have the best crowd in the whole league.

Another good example:

Halak @ home:
7 wins in 7 starts, 1.84 GAA, .935 sv%

You have at least one real superstar in your team. Mats Sundin and Kaberle are better than anyone we have. The problem is the rest of the team is the worst club of underachieving young "prospects" I've ever seen.

I said we had depth, I never said we had SO MUCH depth or whatever. I am aware of where we are in the standings, thank you very much. I just think that with the way our young players are playing right now, the future is looking good. We just need to find a real superstar somewhere...

any crowd that cheers on injury faking stars has no pride and cannot be considered the best....not like i am saying leaf crowd is any better since we cheered for domi, but still atleast we admit it.

Thanks for backing me up and my original theory of your players sprouting vaginas when they hit the road...

underachieving prospects?

you mean like Wellwood? Ian White? Carlo Collivacio(Sp?)

we have potentially the best young defensive prospects in the league. I am jaded as the next guy and even i admit it.

Hab fans just Jock ride one guy and then move to the next.

Ribero?

Thoedore?

Huet?

Halak? ( better than raycroft...but who isnt?)

One second Kovalev was awesome and next second you guys hate him.

Latendresse, Kostitsyn, Lapierre, Higgins, Komisarek, Ryder and Markov are all a huge part of our success and are home grown players that are stepping it up for us to make the playoffs.

We have an awesome prospect pool, leafs fans googles won't let you admit it, though.

Gainey refused to make any trade at the deadline because he didn't want to touch our youngsters, Lapierre and O'Byrne kept being mentionned by a lot of teams and he flat out refused.

And that's why in a few seasons we will be contenders, and leafs will be rebuilders.

Sorry leafs fans.

Yeah they are, since they got rid of the problem (Samsonov) and fixed the problem in the locker room, they have a record of 9 wins and 2 losses.

Thanks for pointing it out :)

I still absolutely love Perezhogin, his plus/minus stat speaks for itself but like I said, he's been injured for more than a month and is not in our playoff drive.

I feared the organisation would pull a trade and send him elsewhere to blossom but I'm glad it didn't happen. Once he obtains top lines minutes and gain confidence he will be a great player, just like Kostitsyn.

Who I hope gets to play with his little brother Sergei very soon ;)

I love how people whip out "Hockeysfuture" as proof of the great talent lying in the ranks for the Habs. They have a funny comment about the Leafs, the farm system has been "decimated by the graduation of several players to the NHL ranks" -- isn't the job of the farm system to get guys ready for the NHL? The fact that so many of the Leaf farm hands made the team is a good sign no? :lol
