Biggest surprise coming to this match is AZ Greg not using Chun Li at all against Fuerte and instead using Claw for 2 straight matches.

While he did beat me in subsequent post-tourney matches with Claw, I feel that using Chun would've been better for the 1st match. I think it would've made a strategic difference in how I would've tried to approach Claw if he used Chun first.

nah, I didn't have this weekend unfortunately, arrived back from south america at 10pm sun night..

I did put my travel times in my OP in this thread me thinks, didn't realise it would screw up 2 rounds so badly though was pretty sure I'd miss one..... uh how to resolve? Can we get it done sat or not? If it helps I could smash out all my games remaining (if I make it past 1) during the weekend coming up, so if I made it to next round I could get all/any further games done in the weekend.

I want to say that I don't know the matchup, but even if I did, I would have been beat. dfyb has a great Fuerte. And his Gouken is damn good too. Almost took a round off his Gouken, not even close with his Fuerte.

Brutal match, I was getting beat on bad and had to throw away Honda for the first time.
That last matchup was particularly tough, and I still feel like I didn't really deserve this one.

Now comes the even harder match.

1st match: Fuerte v Honda
A turtle fight as usual - I know the match-up pretty well and was able to bait Arstal into doing unsafe headbutts or got him as he was charging. Once Honda was knocked down, I was able to harass him on the wakeup or at least make him lose his EX meter as he spent it doing EX buttslam.

2nd match: Fuerte v Rose
Here it shows my biggest problem with Rose: I rarely fight against her so I don't know what safe or unsafe moves/block string she has that I can punish or should block/avoid.

3rd match: Gen v Rose
Same thing as the 2nd match - thinking about it now, I should've used Fuerte here since I know even less about Gen v Rose match-up.

The biggest problem I had against Arstal was him using Rose. Although I don't think Fuerte or Gen has a bad match-up against Rose, but just the severe lack of match-up knowledge put me in a great disadvantage from the start.

Good going for Arstal for actually using such an underutilized character, but hopefully his Honda will be able to match up with Saq's killer Rose (Arstal should probably also start training Chun as well for the secondary for the Saq match).

Yeah, I was so frustrated after the first one, I figured I'd lose again, so I was like, what the hell, at least try something different. I was shocked that it actually worked. Fuerte I don't see much at all, Gen I have seen enough to know how to fight it some. Plus I saw how much you liked FA, and the soul drill is fairly safe for a FA buster, so that's why I switched. Honda's headbutt is too obvious, and I could tell you knew how to defend vs Honda quite well. I'm mad about round 4 3rd match, when I was wakeup super is coming, and accidentally backdashed into it. I'm going to blame being under heavy pressure for the mental breakdown there.

I know I won't be able to win Rose vs Rose, especially since my Rose is just a poor copy.
