The one thing that bothers me is Mcnabb is turning this yearly choke job into a trend. And this time you cant blame the wrs or the lack of westbrook. I dont understand it. Every year, all season long, he is one of the best at not giving up the ball then we get to big games and he throws 2-4 picks and maybe a fumble or two. I feel bad for Owens because he put his career on the line just to watch his qb hand the pats the game.

His clock management alone was laughable. During the final drive, I turned and asked "Is it entirely unreasonable that I expect McNabb to complete a short pass to make it fourth and 2, and then spike the ball to stop the clock?"
And I really did expect that. Instead, he threw a pick. Either way's good, but my scenario would have been better for future generations to laugh at.
TO played well, the coverage on him was pretty miserable though. Still, better than I could have expected.

Eagles fans are horrible. They're assholes. I don't care if they're dedicated(And they are, at least since the team has started playing well), they're assholes. That's all there is to it. I encounter more than my share of them, and I'm not about to change that opinion.
Hell, I liked the Eagles before I moved and had to deal with the fuckers all the time. That god damned chant, the stupid fucking airhorns...I hate Eagles fans. I cheer for their sadness.

McNabb is a great quarterback. He's not the best in the league(Brady is, and he will continue to be at least until he has a truly poor playoff game), but he's right there in the group below the best. And with Owens, who might go ahead and show himself to be the best wideout in the league before long, he looks absolutely incredible.
He had a bad game against the best team in a decade, possibly more. That's just how it goes. Can't put the loss entirely on him, although you can put a good deal of it just because he's the QB and is bound to get some blame.
The Eagles did play the Pats a lot closer than I expected, but they didn't actually seem to have a chance in the entire fourth quarter. Not once after the Pats went up 21-14 did I think "The Eagles could actually pull this off." That's much more a statement in the Patriots' favor than to the Eagles detrement though.
edit: mCACGj-I live in State College, which is just about equally divided between Eagles and Steelers fans. Now, granted, the average State College resident is an asshole to begin with. But the Eagles fans are the ones blowing airhorns, screaming that fucking "E-A-G" bullshit at 4 AM every weekend, and generally being loud and obnoxious. The only time any other group of fans was that loud is when they played the Eagles(Steelers fans back in November, and Pats fans tonight).
And then there's Santa and Irvin, I don't know if you've heard of those incidents or not ...Plus, the drafting of McNabb, now that I think of it.

If this was the first time I wouldnt mind. The previous 2 years he looked like garbage in the playoffs, we were in the championship games because of our defense. I always gave him the benefit of the doubt because of our recievers and the injury to westbrook. This year he saved his crap performance for the superbowl apparently, and there is no excuse. Great QBs dont play like he has in big games. His passes were soo innaccurate. Its not like the pats scheme is what beat us, he just could not make the throws when he had to. Brady is the complete opposite, thats why they are champs. If you switch these QB's eagles win in a blowout.

Awww, poor Eagles. Another Mike Vrabel super bowl TD and Josh Miller hits the pooch punt at the end to stick them, curse of the ex-Steelers I guess. They put up a decent fight though, but somebody needs to tell the Eagles about the no-huddle concept. It really can work wonders.
But god, Jaws was on ESPN proclaiming Belichick the best coach ever. No more Eagles pimping from Jaws I guess. :lol I love how it seems Lombardi doesn't get credit for his first three league titles, like it was his fault that the super bowl wasn't created yet. 5 titles in 7 years, there's a darn good reason why his name is on that trophy. And as far as personalities go, there couldn't be two more different coaches. Quit comparing them.

I live in Southern Jersey, right outside of Philly. I went to Philly for cheesesteaks last night hoping for that excitemetn but couldnt find it. I wish it were like that around here....eitehr way though...of course I have. And while I think the Irvin thing was in poor taste, the Santa incident is taken out of hand. The Santa laughed afterwards.
As for the McNabb draft, we realize our mistakes, and admit them. You could also add in the critcism of the Eagles for drafting LJ Smith and Westbrook. WIP(local sports station) was all over them for it. I think it's just more passion than anything else, the fans want the best for their team. Their opinion may be wrong 80 percent of the time, but they'll show it.
If you live in State College, PA and are a fan of any team other than the Eagles, you will hate Eagles fans. Come here for one weekend during football season and tell me otherwise, Archaix is absolutely right.
Best part of my night was after the game, watching all the faces of the dejected Eagles fans from my apartment window, and then watching two drunk underagers get arrested by the police for yelling at a group of Pats fans on a balcony. It was so perfect because the idiots wouldn't have had any problems, but when the cops told them to leave they kept coming back and actually yelled at the cops. This was almost as good as when the Steelers whipped them earlier in the season and there was a huge gathering of Steelers and Eagles fans on the street right outside my building, and the Steelers fans outnumbered the Eagles fans 4 to 1 and the birds fans got abused.
And if I hear "E A G L E S Eagles!" I think I'm going to puke. Oh yeah another great example of the fantastic Eagles fans here. Two weeks ago one of my roommates was walking back to our apartment after the NFC title game, getting ready for the AFC game. Three Eagles fans were walking past him and one punched him in the chest for wearing a Steelers jersey and said "Fuckin Steelers fans." Completely unprovoked. That's real classy.
All that said this is a VERY extreme area for these rivalries. I never even thought about the Eagles till I came to school here and now I can't stand them if for no other reason than their fans. I don't mind the team itself and actually kinda wanted to see them beat the Pats, but man, seeing those Eagles fans dejected is great. They did it to us after the AFC title game so turnabout is fair play.

Well I was partially right, Owens tore them up. Mcnabbs passes were so goddam inaccurate, in a regular season game he probably throws for 400 yards and no picks. I couldnt have predected he would choke so badly with so many weapons on offense. Next year I will know better I guess. Also, for the record, the pats rarely, if ever, rushed just 2 players or sat back in coverage and i never called him the best qb in the nfl. They didnt play mcnabb the same way they played rothlesburger and manning.

Just remember that the Pats have made a lot of QB's look like third string wannabes. They've made Peyton look like Eli on severaly occasions. They made big Ben look like a rookie. And countless other QB's. While I agree that McNabb had a pretty bad game, you have to give a lot that to the Pats D and Belichick's genius.

It probably has more to do with the fact that all these people picked the eagles to lose in a blowout and talked shit about the nfc all year. The guy everyone said was our only hope to even be in the game, Mcnabb, played like crap. The eagles had the ball with 50 seconds left down by 3 with a chance to win despite that. They said TO wouldnt be effective, he had a huge game. They said our rush defense was suspect, we held the pats to 4 yards a carry and dillon to 75 total. Alot of people thought we were maybe the 4th or 5th best team in the nfl and the superbowl was played in pittsburg. We proved all the haters wrong. Believe it or not, the losses to the Bucs and Panthers hurt MUCH more.

:lol at the morons complaining about the Patriots not getting called for holding... you do realize the Eagles didn't get called for offensive holding all game either, right? And some of the holds that the Eagles got away with were far more blatant than what the Patriots got away with, especially on their 2nd TD drive.
