Official Virtua Fighter 5 Thread

I'm thinking about changing my order around....So what's the difference between the HORI Real Arcade Pro Stick 3 and the Virtua Stick High Grade?

I have used a RAPS2 and I found it great stock...I just don't want to make the wrong choice..

Thanks...

I've always been fine with just the dpad for Virtua Fighter. I've bought sticks and tried them for fighters in general but I always went back to the pad with the triggers mapped out to P+K, K+G, P+K+G, ect. I know there's a handful of Akira's moves I can't do but I can't do them with a stick, either:lol

PS3 get when this hits stateside. Can't wait!

I have the Tekken Hori stick...

When the **** are they releasing a PS2 - PS3 adapter?

In the US...wait for Nyko supposedly.
Or just import an elecom adapter (check Tekken DR thread).

I'm using my RAP2 for VF5 for the first few days until I get my VFHG stick in the mail.

The Virtua Stick High Grade supposedly uses real Sanwa parts(it's been confirmed by second hand sources), which are the exact same parts installed in Virtua Fighter 5 arcade cabinets.

The RAP3 uses hori parts, which are pretty good, but not direct from arcade parts. I have a RAP and I love it.

If you feel lucky, go for the High Grade/

Cheers bud.

Im shit with sticks anyway, so I might as well learn on the one I already have.

Any Confirmation if Milky Pai and Shanes character are in the Asian version fo the game?

sorry to sound paranoid but is it confirmed if Asian version has English Quest most?

I really hope this game sells loads of copies, even though we're all importing lol. Also, any have any any idea if the sticks are going to ship early as well or is that release date firm?

I got the game last night but I'm at work now, and I actually didn't play the game last night either (opted for Hotel Dusk instead) so.... :P

But i guess it's different for me, since I can pop into any arcade and play the game at a whim.

Can anyone tell me what the chances are of the VF5HG stick working on the PC, specifically in MAME?

Dazzy? Mark? Mr Reilik?

SEGA's arcade stick...

Hori's stick:

Now, I'm not an expert or anything, but the stick from Hori looks more like a REAL Sanwa stick to me. The ball top on the sega stick looks plastic. Are you guys SURE the sega is using all NON-plastic Sanwa parts?

I just got back from pre-buying my copy from EB Games. he said the had quite a few pre orders, so here's hoping it does well.

I read somewhere that the HRAP used a Sanwa stick but had Hori buttons...

Anyone know if that's true or not?

I've had problems with converters whether it's console to console or console to PC....getting a RAP3 or VSHG will ensure that all inputs are %100 accurate in VF5 and those sticks can double as USB controllers for my PC should the urge to play ST or something else arise.

O.K. here's what I wanna know....is it a known FACT that the RAP3 or VSHG stick will work on the PC since they're USB? I have done some searching around google and cannot find ANYONE who can confirm these sticks will work on the PC.

Now...to continue on, let's say they DO work on the PC...is there an adapter that will allow me to use USB sticks on my PS2?

I have Samurai Spirits Tenka and play it on my PS2 all the time, but it will NOT work on my PS3 since it's a Japanese import game :(

These sticks aren't out yet man. No wonder you can't find anything on them. I'd wait and let one of the early adopters of the stick test it for you. If NCSX fills my VFHG order i'll let you know.

Ah hell no. Srider of virtuafighter.com says he's noticed lag while using the elecoms with vf. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Hopefully he's playing on a DLP or lCD with a shitty refresh rate. Otherwise i'll be selling my elecoms to some strict tekken peeps

I played it on tube in s-video and component. On LCD TV in HDMI, and on DLP in component. I experienced very minor lag with the elecom converters. One of the JP players agree as well.

VF5 requires more precise controls than TekkenDR confirmed !!

I kid.. I kid.. :lol

Regarding VGO Network and the Hori RAP3.

Just FYI... VGO Network won't be getting it in on the 8th, it will probably be 2 weeks after that... but it will be shipping from the US(San Diego) to be exact.

Hope that helps.

I wish I was a fan of the fighter genre . . . this sounds like the best PS3 game to come along in months.

Motorstorm is probably my next purchase.

You never know.. VF5 could turn you into one :). There's always the option of renting to check something out.

oh man.. anyone played this game..???

cant wait to play as jacky again... IM FASTER THEN LIGHTNING!!!

Hey dudes...I ordered from playasia. I got confirmation that it shipped through UPS but NO tracking # ? Is that normal?

The tracking number will show up by the end of the day. This is typical for P-A.

Oh ooo, well after reading about the Elecom Im going to just order the VF5 stick, not going to take any chances as for me VF is perfection and I want to play it for months that way especially when its 1080p

Just a heads up anyone else in the UK, I have just jinxed you. I have done a major order for VF5 and a stick and after doing it I read where due heavy snow here :lol I did this last year with Guitar Hero 1 pack from USA and it took 12days to travel 40miles because of the snow, where doomed :D

I wonder of the DOA4 stick from X360 will work. Hrmmmm.
I highly doubt it, if you meant working on PS3. All X360 peripherals uses MS proprietary protocols. That's how MS has been locking away any none-licensed products so far.

I may just wait and get it on X360 then to take advantage of the DOA4 stick I have wasting in the closet. Damn.

They use proprietary protocols when connecting to the 360. The 360 requires that the controllers engage the encrypted mode, but the controllers do not require that the system use encryption. Since they work great with non-encrypted open drivers on the PC, they could be supported if a PS3 developer wanted to support them, just as PS3 developers can support USB steering wheels, mice, etc.

Surely we'll see chinese adapters to use 360 controllers on the PS3.

I'd buy an adapter that lets me use my 360 wireless pad.

I will still try the elecom adpator when that arrives on SC2 & evo PS2 sticks over the PS3 official VF5 stick to give accurate account via LCD display, to see one way or the other if it can save everyone some dosh or not :)

I am not sure if anyone answered this yet, but anyway:

Yes English commentary is included in the Japanese game and absolutely everything is available in English (options, quest mode, save data, even graphical elements on some screens, all in English)... just depends on system language being changed.

So unlike VF4E you can enjoy quest on the import version.

I was reading that the Virtua Stick High Grade have not been released in Japan yet but they should be available to our suppliers tonight (NCS). If that's the case then P-A orders should be shipping by tomorrow morning!

I'm super excited!

Excellent to hear.
